I went to Wisma Merdeka Sony Centre looking for A330... unfortunately tak ada
Asked the lady about the A330, and she said that 330 not available whole msia. When I said in KL dah ada, she "corrected" herself saying seluruh east malaysia tak ada ... duh...

what other lens do you have?
for me (no lens), I'd choose the tamron 1750 f2.8 for the flexibility alone for different shooting needs.

IMHO, if you are satisfied with the "performance" of your kit lens, then maybe it would be better to choose a different reach lens. But if you are not satisfied with what your kit lens are giving you, then tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is a nice choice. (but the 50mm f1.8 is tempting )

Tried Nikon D5000, walao... small arr. Nice but my pinky kept falling off from the grip. Maybe my hand is too big. hmmm... A330 should be smaller I think, so I may hv some "trouble" handling/gripping the camera

tamron lens in US comes with 6 yr warranty. In malaysia?

Ive search high and low in KK but none a330 to be found...
(well not that high and not that low ... hehe... actually only at Sony Center in Karamunsing and Wisma Merdeka).

there's one shop just across the highway of Centre Point
but I dont think they sell any alpha.

I think maybe only 2 shops hv alpha on display. Other shops do sell alpha, but have to order.
Last week I went to the camera shop at Grnd Fl, KK plaza... handled the nikon D5000. Also asked about the alpha, the guy can get me A300 .. but I think they have to order la

went to Sony Center Wisma Merdeka, KKinabalu today and found that they have the A330. Handled it... although the body is small but not that point that I would not consider it as my potential 1st DSLR camera. I think, in time... my hands/fingers would get used to handling it.

Now waiting for payment (enough money) so that I'll be able to get me my first DSLR. I would definitely consider the A330...

I think tomorrow will go to the other Sony Shop in Karamunsing Complex to see if they already hv the a330. Id like to play around with it more

went to Sony Shop at Karamunsing Shopping Complex, KKinabalu and found they now hv the a330. Manage to test it to my heart content.

Also, met a nice beautiful lady who was looking for her first DSLR. She wasnt sure which camera & brand to look for as she said she is a beginner. But she likes the photo of people (ie potrait) with nice bokeh (well she didnt actually said bokeh.. but I understood that that was what she meant). She seem to be interested with the Sony Alpha because there's an offer of photography class for Sony Alpha.

I tried to convince her of Sony Alpha (ie A330 or A350) and let her handle both. Showed some features of the alpha & the A330 plus told her of virtues of the Sony Alpha ie the super steady shot, and also a330 menu interface are designed for beginner plus the size, weight and handling of A330 are nice for girls/ladys. Hopefully Ive done enough to convince her to come into our Orange Legion over Canikon forces... hehe...

One good deed done today.. hehe...

however.. the kit lens that comes with the A330 ... DT 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6 Im not too excited as not a constant apeture

need to look for replacement ie maybe the tamron or sigma f2.8

were you there tadi & overheard her conversation? hehe... yeah, that was near exact what she said.
But me still noob when trying to convince potential buyer to buy Alphas... need to learn from sifu "Baron Ace" Signature who I donno how many people he manage to convert to the Orange legion.. hehe

what's your location... KL? I think in KL there's plenty courses or even Teh_Tarik session with fellow Sony Alphaians...
