May I know what is the guitar trick used at 3:19? Steve Vai grip the neck with right hand while tapping with left hand.

the techniques is called tapping. It's quite a well known technique among electric guitarist.

in that vid, the right hand is muting the strings. but actually u can also use the right hand as a capo and left hand do the legato
