Yes much slower, almost double the time since the output 500mA. Why am I using old charger? I have some old Nokia chargers lying around from my previous phones, so I like to have 1 charger in the office, 1 at home, 1 at hometown, 1 at wherever... 
BTW, my old charger is Made in Finland. Now all new ones Made in China
