i saw the deferment amount is adding up

when comes to October, PTPTN will restructure this and show the new monthly payable amount again?

would it be the same amount as previous monthly repayment installment? (my previously monthly repayment is RM330)

As what I understand, the restructuring will happen in October and you will know the new monthly amount, which will be higher than your current repayment amount. The deferment amount adds up cuz it works the same way as other loans, and interest will continue to be charged. There is not interest break, just that you will not be penalised i.e not recorded on your CCRIS, but you are still obliged to pay for the owed amount; either by paying now, or when they restructure your payment in October. In terms of charging interest/interest calculation on the 6 months deferment amount, that, I am not too sure how to calculate. Correct me if I'm wrong.

But your picture is quite interesting. The amount there is 2*RM330. Mine just shows the interest charged for May, and not the monthly repayment amount. I paid for April. Maybe its good to give PTPTN a call to clarify?

Repayment of PTPTN loans deferred another three months

PETALING JAYA: The government is extending the deferment on National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) loan repayments for another three months.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Dr Noraini Ahmad said the extended deferment would be from Oct 1 to Dec 31.

“This involves an estimated repayment of RM375mil, which means the total estimated deferral of repayment is RM1.13bil.

“All PTPTN borrowers will be given an automatic extension on deferment; they will not have to make any application.

“If there are borrowers who want to continue the loan repayment, however, they can do so through the online repayment platform that is provided, ” she said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 4).

The government was concerned and took cognisance of the financial constraints faced by some PTPTN borrowers who lost their jobs and sources of income due to Covid-19, she explained.

She said the ministry hoped the announcement would ease the burden of the borrowers.

PTPTN borrowers can contact the corporation’s careline at 03-21933000, which operates from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, or visit the official portal at www.ptptn.gov.my for more information.

In March, the government announced a three-month deferment on PTPTN loan repayments due to the impact of Covid-19.

Noraini had said then that the deferment would be in effect immediately up to June 30.

ya because i logged in to their payment website saw the payable amount is few k @@
am confused because previously they mentioned will restructure the monthly payable once the deferment ends.

i was expecting to see a amount slightly higher than the previous pre-deferment monthly few hundred payable.

Well nvm, see if they will update it later since today is just the first day of the year.

Same, I chat with them online and they told me that it will restructure soon. Damn it, soon dunno when.

They ask me to pay the installment as per agreement and ignore the 1k+ due to moratorium.

I am confused.

i wonder how the 10% rebate works or lasts if it is monthly rebate

For full settlement, rebate till April next year
but what about the 10% rebate monthly

is it i subscribe now then since then all my monthly rebate is getting 10% rebate
or it is just 10% until April next year, if later then it sounds lame.

chatted with PTPTN live chat, it seems the 10% rebate is for 6 months (Nov 2021 until April 2022) ONLY, meaning May 2022 direct debit will not entitle for 10% rebate.

brought my brother to college recently to register, the admin there mention that for PTPTN they will pay direct to the college instead to the student.

Is that true?

Sorry never apply before last time.

back then we were given options by the institution to direct debit or pay on our own, but that's a few years back and ain't sure if it varies between institutions.
