I wrote an email to PTPTN last 2 days, still haven't get a reply. I may call them after this week. They promised to reply within 1 week. At least that is what written on their page.

Anyway, I still have 1 question (I forgot to ask during my last post), if I want to further my studies at TarUC (Bachelor Degree) after I completed my repeat, can I apply for the Penangguhan? Is there any deadline to apply for the deferment of repayment? I also wrote an email to TarC regarding this but there is still no response.
*
Stop emailing and start calling.

You'll get answers faster this way.

And there's no deadline for deferment. As long as you submit your request, i think PTPTN would be fine.

Heyy, may i know wat is the sspn-i account thingy for? And why do we need to open another account from the bank that is set by your own particular uni. sad.gif eg. CIMB bank. Does that mean you have to open another account, If you're not using eg.CIMB account ?  So many steps.
*
SSPN account is a requirement for PTPTN. Just open it, nothing too hard.

And if your uni/PTPTN ask you to open another account for CIMB/Bank Islam/etc, just do it.

You're getting a loan from them, it's best if you don't whine too much and just do what's required.

I'm sure most of us have troubled ourselves to apply for the loans.

I'm a little bit confused.. Now I'm a taruc student and I found that I'm not interest with my current course, maybe a wrong choice..Now if I transfer to MMU ..then how about my PTPTN that I had already borrow from taruc in first semester ?Anyone know ? If I transfer to MMU now, I need to stop the PTPTN from taruc and register again the PTPTN in MMU ?  doh.gif
*
Yes.

You need to repay the 1st sem loan, and reapply.

Hi everyone..

I applied for PTPTN and I accidentally put B+ instead of B for one of my A levels subject. I realised it AFTER I submitted the form. I tried looking online to find solutions and I found one. The person said he/she tried buying a new PIN and making a new one but then it got rejected saying that the previous application is still in process. I am really panicking right now and I hope someone has some solution to this. thanks T.T
*
Stay calm.

Call the PTPTN hotline and explain your problem.

They might just tell you to do nothing.

Hey guys. I'm currently waiting for my STPM result and I would like to ask one important question from you all. I'm planning to pursue my study for IT engineering courses in UTAR due to cheap tuition fees. Can full PTPTN loan cover my living expenses without hassle? I think I'm eligible for full loan because my parents are BR1M recipient.
*
Cover 100% of your living expenses?

Definitely not. Cover 10~30% if you are thrifty sounds about legit.

It means I have to fork out my own money to live independently? Then how many poor like me suppose to further study if their parents cannot afford to support them?
*
I'm gonna say something cliche on this one.

Be the best damn student you can ever be.

If you expect PTPTN to cover everything, you'll probably suffer.

It's not like IPTA where everything is subsidized. In IPTS, money talks.

QUOTE(DonDropUrSoap @ Nov 25 2014, 11:49 PM)
i want ask if currently those with ptptn got affected by the new policy? the reduction of ptptn
*
Current holders should be not affected.

The agreement signed is legal and binding. I don't think they are so free redraft all the signed agreement and ask everyone to re-sign.

Disclaimer :

There might be a clause where PTPTN could actually alter your loan amount without prior notification in your offer letter.

Do read through the official paperworks before taking my words for it icon_rolleyes.gif

is there anyway i can get a sample letter for loan repayment deferment?
*
Go to UTC or go to PTPTN Counter at KL Sentral and ASK for the letter directly from them.

QUOTE(Screen @ Nov 26 2014, 01:17 PM)
Lets say my course's tuition fees is 100k, but I got a 75% scholarship (to be reviewed annually based on results, hitting a certain percentage) from the Uni itself, which leaves me with 25k left to forge out if everything goes well. But then according to the information given by the Uni I am allowed to borrow PTPTN with a maximum amount of 40k.

Question is can I take the full amount of the 40k PTPTN? So that if everything goes well I will have 15k more to fund my professional qualification after my degree.
*
Technically, if and when PTPTN finds out, you'll need to terminate one of the loan and you would need to pay em back.

QUOTE(silentz @ Nov 28 2014, 09:28 AM)
may i know how many % interest now?
thx
*
Ujrah is always been 1%?

But Admin charges, that's another story. I still have no idea how they calculate that.

And the chances are?  unsure.gif

But then the scholarship is an internal scholarship not an external one, so it matters also?
*
It's actually very easy for PTPTN to find out.

It's whether they bother to find out or not only.

Internal/External, as long as it's some kinda scholarship or loan, you're technically not eligible for PTPTN d.

I think Han from Fast and Furious said this:-

" 50% of something is better than 100% of nothing."

So hey, 75% off is better than 0% off. From there, push yourself even further.

Do you think that PTPTN will fully support my degree course for the MMU? I'm completely confuse and not certain about this system. Do help me out if u have experience. thanks! smile.gif
*
How much?

- Depends on your course.

Fully cover?

- Definitely NO.

How to apply PTPTN then? Is it done after i receive the confirmation letter from the uni or before i receive like in the holidays now? And what is the rate of approval of PTPTN for students studying IPTA?
*
1. You really need to read more. For a SPTM student, I don't expect you to be spoon-fed.

But nevertheless, i shall entertain your question today.

You can apply PTPTN after you are enrolled in the university. Check the opening period for application ( with the Student Body of your university ) and purchase the PIN ( Either via yourself or the uni ) and apply online.

2. Rate of approval => Unless your parents are earning more than 5k, full loan are quite possible. ( IPTA even more possible )

But, with the new rule saying that there's reduction to PTPTN loan amount/parents must be BR1M receiver only can get PTPTN may cause what I type now to be incorrect.

Always do your own research before asking. People won't be this helpful in reality / Uni anyways icon_rolleyes.gif

i have finished my studies and looking for a job now. previously, the ptptn agreement stated that the ansuran bulanan is eg. RM 175. do i have to pay 175 exactly every month? can i reduce the installments?
*
If you don't want to cough up any extra, just follow the payment schedule.

If you really can't afford it, go to the PTPTN Office and make your case.

another Q is
new rule IPTS - diploma - max RM6,800 - is for per sem or per year?  ohmy.gif

Your program = Check at PTPTN web for Total loan amount

Total loan amount / number of sem = Your amount for 1 sem.

That should answer your question.

Hey I am quite scared. I heard rumors that the PTPTN exemption if you score 1st class have been abolished. Is this true?

Because I am planning to take up around RM40k of loan for my accounting degree and I want to get 1st class honors. flex.gif

Is the PTPTN exemption still applicable?
*
Currently, yes.

Next few years, who knows?

Besides, 40k loan is small matter la. If you are good, you can clear it off with 1 year's worth of bonus.

Just do well in your studies.

Hello everyone, may I know when PTPTN actually bank in the money?

I've had some obstacles while applying before this thus it was delayed by a few semesters. I'm studying a twinning programme which is 5 semesters in Malaysia and 3 semesters overseas.

I'm given 10k per sem. But only for 4 semesters which is a total of 40k.
The money was only banked in to my account when I was in semester 4. I've received the money for semester 5. I'm not sure when they'll be banking in the remaining 20k unsure.gif

I've just completed my semester 5.
Please help.

Call them and ask.

If they refuse to give an answer, note it down black and white so that you don't repay the full amount so much later
