A SteelSeries Merc or Merc Stealth is relatively quiet compared to other gaming keyboards. But you lose the tactile feeling for the keys.

Why not SteelSeries Merc Stealth? Slightly above your price point. If not, I vote for the G15.

QUOTE(StereophileDream @ May 9 2010, 09:39 PM) Yeah, considering this too.But is this KB in your opinion got more features(except LCD display)than G110,MS X3,X6? Personally I would take the regular Merc since I don't need the backlight. Then they feel of the keys are different. The regular has a more tactile feel while the stealth is soft like some laptop keys. Main feature for them is the 'butterfly key' gaming area. |

QUOTE(StereophileDream @ May 10 2010, 07:42 PM) Is that those'butterfly key' act like macros? Actually the butterfly is this part here: Hopefully it is as useful as logitech macros if I buy this KB later. ![]() Used as a replacement for the regular WASD area of keys. As for macroing, the G110 would be a better choice since it offers dedicated buttons for macros whereas the Merc can set macros for most keys. I don't like the feel of the keys, not tactile enough compared to the regular Merc or ZBoard.

QUOTE(StereophileDream @ May 12 2010, 01:12 AM) Wow,since I got logitech KB,would like to try others if can.Is that all the keys on the 'butterfly'area can set to act as macros? The butterfly area is more like a quick interface for FPS players mostly but it's still marcoable at any key you would like.Like this would be the default setting. ![]() And this if set to CS. ![]() But it might look a bit different on the Merc since those come from my ZBoard's ZEngine. QUOTE(ipcam88 @ May 13 2010, 08:30 AM) buttons are too small and too close to each and another... some more ..so many.... looks complicated...unless you use it for a long period, else... its gonna take you quite a few days or few weeks perhaps just to get used to this type of complicated keyboard. Unless you are really a very very hardcore gamers or somebody that love to research complex keyboard.. |

Well there is the OCZ Alchemy Elixir available for RM100 or so. I think that is quite decent for a budget gaming keyboard.

Was at LYP just now, tested a Sidewinder X4. Keys are quite tactile and the spacebar is not so loud anymore.

QUOTE(gooni3 @ May 25 2010, 02:00 PM) hhahaa dem.. now its x6 vs x4.. i'll test all of them out =).. tho i dont need so many macros.. i just need one that is comfortable for typing.. heard that x4 is an improved version of the typing.. (loud noises reduced) Yea, not as loud as the X6 when using the space bar. Keys still tactile-ish. |
