Hi gals,

Im planning to register soon, do anyone have exp in regstering in gov office?

My parents told me that we need to pay for the registration fee but it is less than RM50 if you make ur registration in the gov ofie. I guess the price should have increase since my parents married 20 yrs bac anybody can tel me wat is the price now?

Another question i have, at 1st i tot the day i go for registration will be the date of register but seem like this is not the case according the to my parents, once v have reg, they wil publish the annoucement at the notice for at least 2 weeks, if there is not objection from others then onli the marriage is effective, izit true?

If i plan to reg on 09.09.09 then i have to go 1 mth earlier lo ?

yes, if u want to get married on 09.09.09, then u shd go and take the registration form, fill up everything and submit atleast 2weeks before (e.g before 26.08.09). Once your form is submitted then, the officer will let u know the date you and your partner have to come to register. The fee is around RM10 - RM30 (not sure about this, forgot redy).

* U can take and submit the form now also. And when the officer gives u date to come, you can ask him to postponed the date he gave to a later date which you would like to come (e.g 09.09.09). The officer will check whether your proposed date is available for him or not. If yes, then the day is yours. Great and Congrats.

i doubt u can get 9.9.09 unless u got special contact wif the pegawai in caj.

if u want 090909 u gonna need to book the date early (i think it is too late now). Special dates are booked way in advance. Gov office cannot accommodate more than a certain number of marriages a day. The putrajaya one only does it from morning till lunch time.

for the 1st time, i mean do form submission, do my parents need to come with me?

klang hokkien association registered 300 couples for 9th sept in ONE day.
klang valley alone is having more than 1000 couples getting married on that day.
if you're expecting something small like a private event, you might have to hire a registrar to hold the registration event somewhere else, like beach, your place, garden, hotel etc.
if you're expecting a mass registration event, i guess some of the places are still taking in registrations. most of them are open since June for 999. once they hit the target number of couples they'll stop. maybe you can check out mahavira or thean hou gong?

During the submission of form, both the bridegroom to-be and the bride-to-be must present in person (witnesses need not come) and bring along the following documents:

* Original and photocopy (A4 size not to be cut) identity cards. (Front & Back)
* Original and photocopy (A4 size not to be cut) birth certificates.
* Three passport-size colored photographs each
* A photocopy (A4 size, not to be cut) of the respective identity cards of two witnesses who must be Malaysia Citizen above 21 years old.
* Foreigners are required to bring their passports.
* If the bridegroom to-be or bride-to-be is less than 21 years old, his or her father must be one of the witness.
* If his or her father already passed away, his or her mother can become a witness. But his or her father's original death certificate must be produced.
* During submission of application, the couple could choose the date of registration of marriage themselves, but it must not be more than 2 months from the date of submission.
* If it is not under the above circumstances, please consult the Registrar beforehand.

on the registration day itself...
Both the couple and the two witnesses must be present and bring along the following:

* The couple's original identity cards.
* The couple's original birth certificates.
* Two witnesses original identity cards.
* Foreigners must bring along their original passports.
* Other documents: Father's death certificate or divorce certificate or spouse's death certificate must be the original copy.

and yes, you can go right now to get your application form from the nearest JPN counter and submit it asap.

Me and husband are not frm KL, but v got registered here in KL. Both of us had to submit our forms in our hometown according to our IC Address and during the submission of your forms you have to mention to them that you wanna do it in KL.

tat day i went to the birdal exibition at MV, in fact, im quite interested in one of the package frm one of the bridal shop .... but v plan to do more survey since tat is onli the 3rd booth v survey but the person n charge keep on asking me to pay deposit for package so they make us feel dislike ....

my budget is not more than RM3k, so any recommend

I already register, marry and have baby .....i register at the tian hong gong...soli the spelling lousy....For special date you need to register quiet ealier one....i however from sarawak needs 3 weeks time tat means 21 days ...instead of 2 weeks for the objection period. i think is rm 99 include everything....but i think only open till satursday.....i wouldnt choose date like that..i would look at the date in chinese term whether is good for marriage or not...wahahhah.....supersitious....

Me too..i told my hubby no need spend so much....now put under our bed liao.... Yes the pic is my baby......Usually bridal shop got package 2k , 3k , then 4k...i would advise just choose the cheapest.....cos i think much different except more pic given....but then they will ask you buy so y not just choose the cheapest package then from there if u wan then add pic, so roughly will not get higher than 3k loh...like my frens....alot of my frens go to ss2....u can try that but definetly dun go to TOM ...so expensive they give the package.....just go around and do souvenir cos some they give u wat u want de...whahahah

sound like he wan to married with u earlier wor hehe ...

ok so My gf and I went to MV just like you but before that we checked out the bridal shops first and also talked her friends. Heh I can tell u all her friends have horror stories to tell like they don't tell u that the extra expenses like fake fingernails/eyelashes, add pictures must add money, keep all the softcopy pictures must add money (this one i asked and they want 2k for it, they get the tou tai to take ur pictures (not the sifu), if u want to add another day of shooting must add money, u want to lace the borders of the pages must add money etc. My advice here is to know what you want and, when they give you the basic package, ask for it for free.

The best place to get good deals is at bridal exhibitions. They are more flexible there as they are competing with other bridal shops. If you go to their shop and sign up they are less flexible. My photoshoot cost me RM3.5k which is not bad because they gave us extra pages, more softcopy pictures, lace binding for the pages of the books and some other stuff that I can't remember (I'm the guy mah I just pay). But in the end also increase to RM4.2k because we decided to shoot over 2 days. first day indoor and second day outdoor (Port Dickson) and she like an extra dress so had to pay for that as well.

Added on July 20, 2009, 12:18 pmOh ya the bridal shop that I went to is Ever After at SS2. They have a sifu photographer there that don't charge extra for his services. he is quite good. They are nice ppl. Not as bad as the horror stories that you hear about.

And you mentioned about makeup. My gf also likes the natural look and she found a makeup artist who does it pretty well and is quite accomodating to your schedule. Heard some horror stories the makeup artist too busy lah, come late lah, cincai do lah etc. I don't have her contact number so if u're serious I can ask my gf kua... but i think she posted her services in Malaysianbrides.com

My fren just took photo at a bridal shop in ss2..VOGUE COLLECTION....Try go around....Mine one is DEPARIS....no harm in doing survey in the shop...i think they have the package 2k...just buy the cheapest one...usually they will include the wadrobe and makeup....the one they dun include is the fingernail doing, eyelashes and hair color spray...but this is not much lah.....the eyelashes if u wan, u buy from outside the fake one..very cheap lah....they usually will charge on the photo..."let say u entitled to 50 pic...but then show u 100 pic and u like so u must add money for the additions ....the 50 pic given to u one will also be in the soft copy de.....u must ask for it......" then the makeup they charge is during the actual day of ur wedding day....mine makeup artist is very good...i think is go for the v-mag one...she make it look so natural but i think is rm 700....If you wan , i can pass the no to you....some ppl say this is expensive.....as for TOM they straight away offer very expensive package

wah siaw yee what u give so details.....em....i got a question....this question been inside my head so long.... deliver baby by natural or operate is the best? this your first baby right?izzit hard? ..... what preparation do i need after hv baby n before deliver baby?dont get me wrong me not yet la just need to know earlier before plan ma....After get marry i need to plan for bb d so is quit nervous for me.....

tat day i saw one album, the way they do shootin (outdoor de) is very nice but it is quite exp .... they charge me almost 4k for the package, the checklist in the package seem like same as other but not sure why they charge so exp T.T

U need to bring:-

1 passport size of photo
photostat copy of birth cert
photostat copy of IC (front n back in 1 page)

whole process took less than 10 min.

Normal Date is 1 month in advance. 11.11.11 check with your registrar.

Yea wor, I also just submitted mine in Putrajaya last Thursday, only need Passport-sized photo and our IC.

Very happy with their service, very fast, only 10 mins or so. Now we just need to wait for the actual day.

If you are in KL but holding a Kelantan address in your IC, means you have to register in Kelantan?

You can wear whatever you want. They just wear white because that's really their official/legal wedding day.
