if you are certain that you are restored your iPhone correctly (from what iTunes tells you).

then "3" hasn't unlocked your unit yet. you will need to call them again.

this is why i refuse to be a "3" customer; their service (both customer and coverage) doesn't meet my requirement/threshold

hi, i will be going to Melbourne soon and will be there for the next few years, would like to ask your opinion what will be the best telco for using iphone? i mean by data coverage and customer service

i already have an iphone but thinking of getting an iphone 4 for my wife in melbourne, please advise.. based on nokia2003 comment it seems that 3 is out, i have been in uk and been using O2 payngo (prepaid) on my iphone and was very satisfied with it, where i paid 10pound and get unlimited internet and 300 msg.

and is it easy to get an iphone 4 in melbourne? or there is still a waiting period

please advise

thank you in advance

hi guys im going to oz soon and i need a prepaid which can use personal hotspot on my iphone4 aka tethering ...

i was told optus prepaid DOES NOT support tethering .. .zzzz ... and i tried it when i was there ... shop say can .. call customer service say cant ... damn full of sh}t ... in the end i just ask my friend who works in optus ... he says optus prepaid can't tether using prepaid ...

any other mobile operator users out there who's in oz ... can tell me which prepaid can be used for tethering?

hi

i don't really understand the technical term, but i used the iphone connected to my laptop through usb cable and I can surf the internet on my laptop, but that is previously on firmware 4.1,

not yet has hotspot n such, after upgrading to 4.3.2 i tried connecting to internet using the hotspot but cannot, never tried using usb cable with the new firmware , maybe i did it wrongly don't know, now at home have internet connection so not using it any more

i used vodafone flexi cap prepaid, 29 per month, but 500mb of data only (sometimes got promo got until 1gb), I am in melbourne

thanks alot for ur help

im on 4.3.3 and bought the optus prepaid and recharged that aud30 turbo cap thingy ... but my hotspot cant turn on. ive never tried to use usb cable to my laptop cuz during that time i was using ipad2 to connect to my iphone4.

australia's telco operators' websites are so darn confusing. its so hard to find whether or not their prepaid plans can use tethering ...

but yes u were tethering using USB cable method ...

but wireless method for u seems to be unable to connect ... actually if it says 'please contact your operator' if u tried the hotspot .. means cannot i think ...

will check vodofones flexi cap and see ... cheers

YES, SUCCESFULL...., i am replying this through my laptop using iphone hotspot, but connecting through wifi connection, tried before using bluetooth but nothing happened.

so vodafone prepaid can be used for hotspot, using with my computer, and loading is slowwww

quality wise i think vodafone has been attacked on their 3G services, sometimes when i am in town and like to search for places using maps it took a looong time to load, but using the native email, twitter and facebook is no problem, safari ok la, but tumblr is no go, imo for chatting, mms and whatsapp is ok, even trying skyping is ok

hope this help you, in relative experience using vodafone in melbourne, other places no idea
