Although it's probably going to be a refurbished set, at least you can be sure the rest of the functions will perform better given that they have 're-conditioned/serviced' the whole unit as opposed to yours where it has already been in use for some time.

There is a slight difference if it still holds true. With certain telcos in Australia you have to pay to get it officially unlocked whereas Singapore's sets are all officially unlocked.
