The line is crazy short today for the iPhone 4! I asked one of the blue shirts why it is short, or if the stock is limited. She said both models are available, just that because everyone who wants one, already got them yesterday.

Hmmmm, should I risk lining up and buy another two? hmm.gif

Im in line again for iPhone 4, buying them using my own cash. They accept cash payment now but quota still 2/person. Stock level now is a "maybe" based from one of the blue shirts.

Since Im buying this using my own money, i'll decide who will get the two units. One is probably taken, the other one is up for grabs.

I will be flying to Brisbane tonight, and tomorrow will be going to the Apple Store Chermside Brisbane. If anyone is interested, I can help buy another two. To make it fair, only those on my Twitter feed will have first dibs on it(friends get first priority), and I will open the request at 12:01am tomorrow SYD time/10:01pm KL time tonight. The first with the request in, will be given priority for me to get one. All this depends on whether they have stock in Chermside when I call them tomorrow morning, but I will need funds for the iPhones banked-in before I go and buy one.

Please don't turn this thread into "Count me in" posts only. That's the reason why the mods are against Trade-related posts/threads in here. Read my conditions and respond via tweets ONLY.

Added on July 31, 2010, 1:32 pmIm retracting that offer for buying in BNE. I don't want to turn this thread offtrack. Sorry.

Added on July 31, 2010, 2:20 pmiPhone 4 is now officially sold out in Apple Store SYD! Im one of the last 25. Phew!

They're taking the line barriers away now.

Added on July 31, 2010, 2:52 pmManaged to get two more iPhone 4 32GB. Heading back to hotel to pack for Brisbane tonight.

Next stock take for iPhone 4 in Apple Store George St.? "Unknown" from one of the blue shirts. Time to hunt for more in BNE!

P/S: They've run out of 16GB units long time before the queue for the iPhone was stopped. Looks like 16GB is the size of choice.

Pardon the size, I'm on iPhone and unable to resize. Will do so once back home.

Addendum: spoiler removed, pic is of the right edited size.

Didn't I just pointed out on that post that I was on the iPhone, and cant resize it? Such a kid, got reprimanded on a thread, fault-find in another to "get even" rolleyes.gif There is a reason why the picture is spoilered.

Hence the bleedin' "spoilered" section!

You'd be expecting a picture there, I explicitly said so even myself, and it was expressly mentioned that it is huge and unedited, hence bigger download, so if you're skimping on your mobile broadband quotas, how about "don't click the effin' spoiler"? Hand too itchy? Is that so hard to do, or is my post too seductive for you that you have to click to see what's behind the curtain? Damn!

Your grammar is wrong. It is supposed to be "what does "unofficial/official" mean"?

Next time, don't nitpick others if you don't want to be nitpicked.

The Australian iPhone 4 activation on non-supported telco like Celcom, will produce varying results. I tried my Celcom Postpaid 3G simcard (manually cut using scissors), and that card failed on me. It is the older version of te simcard where the gold chip is huge, so my advise is to change your sim at your local telco branch for the version that has a smaller sim gold chip. I did just that today, because my Australian iPhone 4 doesn't recognize the sim anymore. No issues whatsoever once I've obtained the new sim card with smaller gold chip, and cut using the microsim cutter. Perfect fit!

Also a reminder that even the sim tray has the IMEI number of your iPhone 4 on it. Do not mix it up, you may get into problems later if you wanna do returns, or sell them later with non-matching sim-trays. The trays are of the same size, but your buyer may be wary of your sale when they check your sim tray marking doesnt match the IMEI number.

It's things like this that makes me ever doubt folks that are truly keeping on the right side of the law when it comes to jailbreaking. I've met my fair share of those who jailbroken their devices yet honoring the power they wield in their hand. On the other end of the spectrum, is this example. Now, is it any more questionable WHY jailbreaking is prohibited and frowned upon here? It's hard to find responsible folks, and it's easy to get people who wield this power like a monkey wielding a laser gun.

A classic example of "everybody's doing it, so it must be okay for me to do so" without contemplating the trouble you've caused. And if Australian-minded folks are already this flauntingly bragging the mess they've created, imagine the amount of nonsense we have here in Malaysia if we had an Apple Store and we have a mob of these "people" flooding the showfloor and flaunting their 133t-ness of their "jailbreaking skillz". Disgustingly childish. shakehead.gif

Gone. Both Robina and Chermside Apple Stores are bone dry, next stock take is in another 3 weeks. That was the info I received when I called while I was there last week. Brisbane was cursed with the least amount of iPhone 4 stock, compared to Melbourne or Sydney.

To the mods, I implore you to exercise your discretions on these zero-content posts. We don't need Kopitiam-style standard posts pervading our Apple forum.

To the rest, I implore you not to feed the trolls. It will only encourage them further and prolong the nonsense.

Try the Apple Store on Hay St. That's your best bet for unlocked units, in fact thats the only source for unlocked units in Perth. tongue.gif

You may also wanna try Apple Resellers like Nextbyte around Perth CBD.

Safe trip, and carry island reserve fuel yah! biggrin.gif

P/S: Someone just text me from Paris stating disappointing results wi Paris iPhone hunt. He was texting from the L'Opera Apple Store in Rue Halevy. Hope you have better luck in PER.

Stocks are finally available in Apple Store Chermside Brisbane for both iPhone 4 models.

The number of customers are less though, no line whatsoever in the store.

Posting this from the Apple Store itself.

Brisbane is smaller compared to Sydney. Plus, personally, I think the folks here are more backward compared to the city-dwelling Sydney folks. Brisbane people are more interested in activities in the sun, the beach, or collecting guns. The type you call Rednecks in the States.
