no u cant....the rm200 deposit, is for the booking of the iphone so the particular maxis centre will get the number of 16/32gb, white/black ordered by customers....u cant chg it...try calling up maxis, and ask for a change, and not on that day itself

u better make sure, AFAIK i was told you cant, and also I believe it's stated in the FAQS. I recall reading it somewhere =)

For all your information, 28th is the launching date for i3gs, and 31st is the collection date...launching and collection is both diff thing...

I never read that, it's the maxis centre rep that told me so, cause she is involved in the road show for the launching, but god knows where is the launching, cos i nv bother asking =)

I believe there won't be much of a problem actually. The reason for Maxis having the need to open this pre-booking, is so that they can allocate the number of ordered units to the respective outlets so that the outlet will have enough for the customers.

Else, no point pre-book, they can just ask customers to walk-in and buy/register/sign-up straight away =)

I went to Cheras Maxis Centre, and was told by the rep there launching is on 28th, and collection is 31st. Reason for me believeing so is cause the particular rep is involved in some sort of launching road show, cos in the midst of registering, her colleague were asking her information bout it.

You will actually get a transaction number via SMS, instantly after u register.

rmvalues: Why not try reading previous posts and even Maxis' iPhone FAQs before asking? Do some research first. The answer is yes, you can use it for other telcos, it's fully unlocked. Put some effort into helping yourself

jfarm86: It depends on the particular Maxis rep that you're dealing with. As for mine, I booked for the 9-1 slot, and my dad booked for the 2-5 slot, the Maxis rep that dealt with me told me that both me and my dad can collect it at the 9-1 slot.

The time slot is so that there won't be any congestion, nothing to do with the stock availability.

If you register under your gf's name, you will need to have your gf to collect it. It depends on the form that you fill in when you register, for the contract. The person's name written on the form+receipt will need to collect it.


xxx306: Yup you can pick it up any day/time after the selected date if you're not free. But it must be within 14 days.

Wow, I booked mine at the Cheras maxis centre, the 1 opposite leisure mall, too bad no phone number listed under that maxis centre in maxis' website. Else I would have called them n ask if they have stock =(

Ordered a 16gb, and also 32gb...

Heard that Maxis Centres will definitely have stock, cause they will get the priority, followed by MEP and only to Machines, etc.

Hmm weird, somehow I don't think their reply is firm. Cause they asked if I received any SMS, I said no.... Impossible if the stocks are not ready, they won't even inform us...weird..

Will ask my dad to call 2night, cause he ordered 32gb, while I got a 16gb myself

16gb available as of 2morrow for collection, however 32gb only as of 1st of August.

You should be able to get your phone. The prob is only for those who chose 31st July as their collection date, as most of the stock has not arrived yet, as previously I've read that malaysian customs held back some of the stocks.
