Those who got today are KL folks, that's what the guy at Maxis told me when I ask. They told me (in 3 separate phone call) that the phone will not be available for the entire Malaysia northern region...

If there are people in Penang getting their 32Gb today, I will be pissed...

your friend got the 32G version? or 16G? 16G got stock country wide...

my fren got it from penang before 12pm... and he mention that there were just a few ''kittens'' collecting only.

Just called them and the first question they ask would be 16gb or 32gb booking? They have stock for 16gb but not 32gb. He said don't worry as soon as they get the stock they will call us.

screw up from maxis part:
1) they are so not prepared. collection time stated 9 am, shop open only 10am. so reach there 8.30am, need to wait until 9.55am
2) 1st to arrive but 2nd in queue.... waitaminute, wat q? Refer to attachment (How to paste pics in here anyway? ). went jalan jalan after arrived. apparently counter number for iphone collection starts at 800.
3) 16gb they charged me 2490, forgetting to deduct from the booking rm200. void transaction and re-swipe card
NO SURCHARGE. DONT SPREAD RUMORS! (unless those small small kedai wanna katuk u )
4) their system damn slow. must be hogged by klcc.
5) no stock still promo roadshow at ground level gardens??
6) like dunno how to register to activate my hotline with 3GS. staff was asking here and there. maybe i am their first customer.
7) free 500mb sms recieve within the 30 mins. however, need to wait another 2 hrs b4 can use. but 2 sms came in.
1st sms says: "free 500mb and can start surfing."
2nd sms says: "you have been charged rm98 for activation-3G???"
3rd sms says: you can now surf at 1sen/kB??"

good news is:
1) they do keep a list on who paid their booking fee on wat day. they crossed out my name from the list once i collect. guess they will reject those who paid too late (2nd batch?) saw the list - 32gb really alot of ppl book. 16gb much less. wat recession?
2) overheard maxis stock say "go pass stock to Machines (gardens)". those who book there, better call to check.
3) took 30 mins to pay but 10 mins to activate, even though their system damn slow.

ok. back to my itunes synching

p/s: y the complaint about yellow light? i read and knew about tis even b4 the launch in malaysia. Apple already announce this is a warmer feature, better for the eye (and battery). so stop complaining

I thought I confirmed everything yesterday..... I'm still not in the system in Bangsar.
I'm not in the system in Gardens.
I appear to have paid online and with Maxis 123, but My phone is nowhere to be found.
They said I have to collect on the August.

I told Hello Station and the Maxis Line to go F**k themselves.

I literally blew up in the hello station. Now I want to go there with my baseball bat and beat the crap out of them all.

There should be a confirmation email from Maxis once u had paid ur deposit.

Thats what i got as a confirmation that i'm in thier system

Okay here is my situation.

1. I did my prebooking of a 32gb Black i3Gs from Maxis website a few days ago and made my payments in Machine 1U the day itself.
2. Machine 1U said they cant guarentee me a unit on my date of collection which I was suppose to get which is today (31st July 2-6pm)
3. I refer back to Maxis costomer care (Shiang) to double confirm if my set was gonna be delayed till when and he told me if I haven recieve any SMS or Email from Maxis, I can go ahead and collect it on the 31st July from 2-6pm. I even told him I'll be taking half day off to collect my phone and he said stock is limited so go there early to collect.
4. Took half day off and found out at 1pm that stock hasnt arrived in Machines 1U.
5. Called my friend that work with Maxis and he confirmed with me 4 places has sufficent stock for 32gb i3Gs which is Gardens, TTDI, KLCC and Sunway Pyramid.
6. Called Maxis SC and told them about my situation and asked for a chance of location to collect my phone but she said sorry it can't be done.
7. She told me Machines 1U will be delayed till the 5th of August before they recieve their stock.

Sold off my old i2g (using a spare phone with no contacts in it), took half day and now they tell me it will be delayed till 5th.

What am I suppose to do now and whos gonna replace my loses?

Guys, some forumers who have collected their iphones are saying maxis is giving out 100 free sms and 10 free mms for those subscribing to ivalue plans, can someone verify this?

Hang on, did you pay your deposit at Gardens? Because I was in a similar situation as you, and I didn't bother going to Hello Station to collect, just went straight to Gardens and had no problem (apart from a long wait and lots of general finger-pointing in my direction)

I think you guys need to chill and be more laid back.

I did a pre-book at TTDI on the July 18th, and back then I assume the collection date was 31st too. But on that spot I was informed that 31st til' 3rd is fully booked and he ask me to come collect on 4th.

I knew that since I booked kinda late so its logical that I need to wait.
So chill lar, if its not today, its either a few days more from now.

According to the maxis peeps they say that they will guarantee all the pre-books get theirs before they open for walk-in customers. So either by hook or by crook you'll get your phone. So just chill.

I just got myself the iphone from the maxis center. But sorry to say that i am not happy at all!!!

Why?
1. It took me 1 and half hour waiting in order to get my phone.
2. When i got my phone, need to upgrade the sim card to 128K.
3. When i got back home, check again, WTF hairline scratch all over the phone

Damn piss off, i decided to call maxis CS, i the answer is i can switch the phone but depends on stock availability.

I hope i have a better camera so that i can snap some pic to show you guys.

Regarding my scheduled collection tomorrow at Sunway Pyramid Maxis Center, I decided to call Hotlink to find out. The guy on the line blur-blur ask me to call Sunway Pyramid Maxis center. I said okay give me their number. He said but sir they dont have phones there lah. I said "WHAT? You guys are in the communication business and you dont have phones????"
He then gave me a handphone number belonging to some staff - called but never pickup.

Okay call Maxis instead. Okay at least on their phone system got "press 6 regarding iPhone booking/collection". CS told me no problem for my 16GB for tomorrow collection.

Yes. I paid my deposit in Gardens.
Will try to raise hell until I get it.

yes is the white color, haiz i really dunno what to say now, waiting the maxis center to confirm me again when can i change the phone.

I cant do anything right now, instead just looking at the phone itself but cant use it.

I did the same thing, run as fast as i could. But better check ur phone properly. Don't be like me, getting a phone with cracks.

Got my Iphone, was at TTDI Maxis Center waited for 2 hours just to get it. And there a lot of unhappy people there too. Thanks goodness got the phone and went off as fast as I can.

It was a common issue that was reported. even by the iPhone3G owners in Msia. Wait til this thing cools down then go to Maxis/Apple to ask for a change. They should be able to do it.

how come the phone got hairline scratch? it is sealed box right??

not everyone had the liberty of being informed beforehand that the stock wasn't available. even someone like me who went to the outlet 2 days ago to check on the procedures didn't get a hint of an idea that the phones would not arrive. which is why the frustration is unavoidable and even more exaggerated when we find out that in all our anticipation by taking the effort to sign-up and pay the deposit early, others who booked much later but won the flip of the Maxis/Machines coin were able to get their phones first, while us unfortunate ones are still left in the dark on when we'll see ours.

just wondering, has anyone managed to collect 32GB black model from any Machines outlet? or was priority given to Maxis outlets?

it's a manufacturing defect, which was also reported in the discussions.apple.com
