i am not sifoo cata la
i newbie only

more questions, metal gasket head .....
wats the difference of using normal gasket head with metal gasket head?
thanks

normal gasket made of paper
better gasket made of carbon
even better gasket made of metal
in short, metal stronger than carbon, carbon stronger than paper
metal head gasket also comes in different types
1 piece construction and multiple layers

need sifu cata/oly to explain liao.. i only know they always talk about metal gasket for turbo engine. and the thicker it is, the higher boost you can get woh..
metal head gasket not necessary thicker
there are metal head gasket less than 1mm thick for NA engine application
but mostly available in the market are for 4g9x engine
4g1x engine wanna find metal head gasket very hard
it is even harder to find metal head gasket below 1mm thickness for 4g1x engine
forced induction engine use thicker head gasket to reduce compression ratio
this allows them to boost higher, less detonation
but lower compression ratio reduce engine response and increase turbo lag
thats why turbocharged engines have the option of going for hugeass turbine with very low compression ratio, creating huge load of power at higher rpm (5k rpm above only turbine spool)
or stick to standard turbine with standard compression ratio, allowing faster turbine spool and good throttle response but less peak horsepower
