I think u misunderstand liao ... 1st off u wrote :
QUOTE(maxgenesis @ Jul 22 2009, 08:42 PM)
4-2-1 more power more performance more FC
*
1st .. its wrong at the more FC side (this is wat i mean) but then doesnt mean more power and performance coz need to see in which terrain the car is on, street or drag or track or curcuit or watever ....
2nd:
QUOTE(maxgenesis @ Jul 23 2009, 04:18 PM)
where got wrong.....4-2-1 horsepower, no torque .....
4-1 = torque, no horse power...

i got do research for 5-6 areas b4 i post okay. bcoz i wan mod my exzos pipe... but i wan try different combination.
*
and still dead wrong ...

read below
QUOTE(soulfly @ Feb 14 2006, 03:01 PM)
Exhaust modification
1. 4-2-1 type extractor
This setup gives power through out the rpm range. Drivability at lower rpm is quite good, making it the most suitable setup for street usage. Expect more top speed compare to 4-1 type.

Pro : Good power all across the rpm range, more top speed, good for cruising
Cons : Weak top end power, torque ends earlier

2. 4-1 type extractor
This setup gives more top end power. The low end power is weaker compare to 4-2-1 setup, but usually the power gain is significant from the midrange up to high rpm. This causes the torque range to come later, thus creating more horsepower at high range rpm compare to 4-2-1 setup. 4-1 is best for high revving motors like VTEC and MIVEC (just to name a few.

Pro : More midrange and top end power, higher hp, good for acceleration
Cons : Poor at lows, lower top speed compare to 4-2-1

*
read above .....
both have power (consider housepower?) .. but at different RPM range ...
both have torque but 1 ends earlier than another in the RPM range ...
In term of FC, u will need to see which range of RPM u usually is at .... doesnt really mean it will have bad FC unless u get a 4-2-1 and speed at 7k rpm which confirm leads to higher FC compared to 4-1 ...
another point, 4-1 have lower top speed compared to 4-2-1 ... why? ...
read below:
explanation about Velocity ....

all i can say is .... research more & read more tongue.gif ... kekeke ... flex.gif
hope all this helps and release the confusion nod.gif ... icon_rolleyes.gif

ps: not sure about this but modding exhaust setup doesnt increase HP ... the engine HP is already there but it was blocked/hidden by some obstacles such as Cat Con or something ... so removing it would recover the hidden HP .... hmm.gif in a way can say as increase hp gua laugh.gif ... correct me if i am wrong ... wink.gif

QUOTE(wetwetwater @ Jul 24 2009, 02:14 PM)
Thanks for the read. Humorous!
Nothing is really wrong with my car.
Just that after driving for 200k+ kms, just wanna see if the car is still good?
You mean the main service centre along Kesas highway?
Can I just do the diagnostic test without going for servicing?
*
haha ... yea its a good read for some humour and pass some time .. biggrin.gif
since its not a problem u can bring ur car to do a dyno ... no need go SC .. but a dyno cost around 100+ ..
ask shin for more details on dyno .. i no money do dyno and havent done 1 before ...
200k+ km ... confirm wont be as good as before but if u maintain it good also wont be that bad ....
by doing a dyno, u can know how well ur car is performing thus they will tune ur car to its best shape flex.gif

QUOTE(tictac @ Jul 24 2009, 02:32 PM)
How to make wira car stable at high speed? I got grand livina. at 160-180 still feel stable. I tried my wife 140 already feel not stable (Suspension nak turun mcm buaian).

But i enjoy riding my wife car (wira) than my grand livina.... sweat.gif
*
err ... 140 unstable d ah? ... hmm .. maybe get better tires, stablizer bars, good mountings, make sure tuning is good ... nod.gif

Added on July 24, 2009, 2:52 pmooo ... now only i know .. haha
wira's weight is around 980kg to 1025kg
grand livina is around 1220kg to 1280kg
haha ... so i think adding stable bar would do the job gua .. haha

hmm.gif aerodymanic of the spoiler and bodykits will work but very subjective coz all this needs special calculation one ... if not y some supercar design damn ugly but do very good in speed ... and all this r to produce downforce so that the car stick to the road, wont be a rocket and fly up ...
wrong calculation will produce ntg and might even drag the car... for all that i know ... wira stock spoiler useless for cosmetic use only .. no help at all .. lolx ...
in my logic thinking, sturcture bar helps .. lets take a rally car for example, they r full of stucture bars not just to strengthen the chasis but also to stabalize the car from rolling and in a way during high speed it wont 'bent' due to the air knocking ..
hahaha .. thats wat i think la .. could be wrong also .. sucks in physics ..tongue.gif biggrin.gif

QUOTE(wetwetwater @ Jul 24 2009, 03:37 PM)
A dyno run is different. A diagnostic test is different.

A diagnostic test is basically plugging in your Car with a Computer to check on everything. To see whether are there any problems with your car or not. Are there things that is wearing off, are there parts that has to be changed?

A dyno run basically tells you how your car is performing. Then you will have to do some tweaking in your car to make it perform even better.

That is the difference.
*
i think if a shop have enough capital for a dyno set would also be able to have a diagnostic set too ..
such as powerzone, i doubt that they will say don have diagnostic system ... though i am not sure ..
better wait for the sifus .. kekeke tongue.gif

but ..... its the same case ... of i read, in a dyno .. ur car will be on a wheel platform ... a system will then plugged into ur car, connecting to the ECU .. then it will run ur car and the system will start checking for internal electrical errors .. at the same time u will also be able to see how well ur car is doing .. basically its the same procedure for both of dyno and diagnostic ... i think ... hahahaha
plugging ur car into a computer/system will only check on the electrical stuff in ur car, other stuff need to do a thorough check-up by the mech liao ... rclxub.gif

oh sifu shin is here! ..
mind explaining wat is done during a dyno test? .. curious le .. havent do b4... hehe

QUOTE(masao343 @ Jul 24 2009, 03:48 PM)
alvin, i thk rally car needs very strong structure coz the drive very fast on very rough conditions.
much worse than 4x4 going into jungle, because rally involve high speed. often you can see the rally car take off from the ground, all 4 wheels at the same time, so can reasily imagine the stress all these must be, on the car's chassis.

regarding bodykits and spoilers, actually it is not hard at all if you only asking for downforce, but if you need precise effects, i read that this will really require experts to measure liao. they have this wind chamber to measure such things de, but usually only used by car manufacturers. simply adding an aftermarket spoiler and lips itself usually gives u downforce, but maybe not precise enough lor, example, too much drag, etc.

and i agree with u, stock wira spoiler most likely for decoration only  sweat.gif
*
yea lo yea lo .. rally car just example la .. hehe ...
that spoiler can throw de ... too small for any downforce ... too small for even decoration ... wan put also put a evo 3 spoiler flex.gif (at least can help rather than do ntg) kakaka ....

yea ... rally car looks damn fierce ... and can pawn alot of cars .. lolx ...
yea those lips helps cutting out sand gua .. hahaha ... bodykit will help once it has precise calculation and of course if installed for racing confirm super precise one .. haha

i like nissan GTR also la ... each engine is handmade! ... japs r pro ...

Added on July 24, 2009, 4:42 pmoh btw, thanks for the pic ....
ever wonder y the driver and co-driver wears a helmet in the car? ...
its not just for saving life due to crashing ... it protects the drivers from getting their head knock against the car ceiling during landing laugh.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif ... hahaha

anyway, my story (summarized form) .. laugh.gif
1, contacted kent20 from ZTH for the exhaust setup ...
2, meet him up around 1250pm @ kepong carrefour ...
3, he bring me to an exhaust shop (Wai Heng also) doh.gif ...
4, called him to check to confirm is it stock 4-1 and got catcon ... when he check half way, he smell petrol and saw my car leaking petrol ...(everyone shocked)
5, the Wai Heng boss straight jump to the workshop beside and call 'ma chai' over to check ...
6, took out whole petrol tank just to replace a stupid leaking hose .. cost RM80 just to take out and put in the petrol tank + RM25 for the hose .. everything done at 6+pm (waited whole afternoon)
7, drove back to exhaust shop ... look at the parts for my car ... 4-2-1 extractor + bullet ...
Pic (bullet):
Attached Image
8, settle everything at around 7+pm ... sibeh hungry and tired .. and sibeh bad luck ....
9, overall damn happy about the exhaust and the boss & kent20 damn good, gave alot information and advices (summore the shop full of ppl waiting to get their car done)
