hi guys,
wow, new thread liao icon_rolleyes.gif

anyway, finally finished DIY my skirtings liao. Some photos to share.
i think now unique already, at least hehee
those of u in melaka if see my car, honk n wave la haha blush.gif
as can see, original parts i bought used la, so it was blue. i respray myself (over budget now to send for professional spray paint) but i think not too bad la, at least same color, lol. the rivet holes, no choice lor for now, when someday i send for pro-spray then only i ask them mudgard one shot la.
also, now the car with skirtings make the wheels appear very small sweat.gif so, it will be the next "appearance" upgrade for me on the list. i think 15" at least is a must...

Added on June 22, 2009, 9:14 ama question. lately my car when driving, got a very faint "thud thud thud..." sound. i think its from engine bay.
i already send for 2nd alignment/balancing to see if they are from tyres, but they are not. the rear tyre got uneven thread wear, which i know will happen la (coz my rear arm got problem) but dunno why this sound still happening. and the thud thud thud sound ALMOST follow the engine speed, or maybe car's speed. even if i cruising and change to free gear, i can hear it. but if car is not moving (no gear) and i press the pedal, i cant hear this thud thud sound. wat do u guys think is causing it? it is a very low, faint sound la... very sian... sad.gif

oh another DIY buddy rclxms.gif how does ur spoiler look like? got pics, can share?
yeah, i was also using the DPI paint for proton cars... rm17.90 from Ace Hardware.
the clear coat i use normal ones from hardware stores lor, rm8 only. called Acrylic clear coat, this one can also rite?
total i used 2 DPI sprays for all 3 sides of skirting + side mirrors both sides. i think still got remain some for future patch/cover-up use.
u are right, without proper clear coat, now the skirtings dont shine the same as the rest of the car. i think this weekend surely i will be tempted to respray the clear coats lor, unless i damn busy with other things la. sweat.gif
btw, what do u mean with "putty" ? it cause ugly joints? sorry i dun understand some of the terms la, i noob only hmm.gif

yah.. pour in money to my wira aeroback.. loupoh keep nagging, use the money on vacation better.. i say, car not nice, no dare to bring you out. haahaha..
the front bumper now is still the original one. but because of the 4g93t side mount intercooler... i was forced to cut off some bits of the bumper (inner) and take out the spotlight la, and also fender light. for the CAI, drilled a hole.. and it seems, very weak liao..
1 week ago, i went to bangi, drive 180kmh, and then my previously installed mivec front lip cracked at the joint area.. sien.. wanna go for others liao.. maybe lancer original ones can fit in nicely along with my IC.
