i'm using Bendix brake pad. Less dirt ...

Another story to share..
my steering got "squeaking" sound everytime the stereng rotated(either light or hard rotation).
Last time when bring to SC to check, they said nothing was wrong, and they put oil to reduced the sound. (yet, the issue still occur )
So i bring back just a few days back to recheck, and they asked me to change the stereng rack for RM 1.5 K sweat.gif
Dont have budget for now..haih ~

for 17" recommended tyre size would be 205/40/17...yes the tyre is thin but at least not much power loss...in terms of looks of course better than 15 or 16 but thin tyre equals to less comfort and extra caution and pay extreme attention on the road for potholes etc...standard spring and absorber should be ok unless theres a full load...
*
yups correct. currently am using replica workemotion 17".. stock spring and absorber.. tyre will touch mudguard for 5 persons load.. less than that no issue..luckily i'm always drive alone or 2 persons with my deary only wub.gif

fuel consumption rise a bit, power loss a bit...bit sluggish.. but the cosmetic is there.. nod.gif
choose cosmetic = loose the performane a bit sweat.gif

my only prob here, my car always gegar when reached 120km/h.. haih.. already do balancing and alignment several times, but still gegar..
fyi, my rims got no bent at all.. i'm also use "cone" to loose the gap between my rims and the tyre socket(donno what's the correct name sorry)

my fren just use this tyre for just 1week and he commented; TAK GRIP LANGSONG!
then swap with my MAXXIS MA-Z1 for a week and he said, MAXXIS ni brand mane? apsal sedap tayar ni?

and he asked me the price, i said rm160 only at kapar.. if around gombak u can get rm180-rm200..
cheaper than his tyre, and the performance and grip is sedap he said whistling.gif  whistling.gif  whistling.gif

if u afraid MAXXIS MA-Z1 tak sedap, u can buy 2 and try on the road.. no regret pal
*
that's the price for 15" right? gonna change 2pcs of mine.. 17" what price at kapar? Gonna try this maxxis tyres..

I'm considering to change my tyres.

Current: 205/45/17 with standard absorber/spring.
user posted image

Saw our sifoo shazmn recommendation to use 205/40/17. Considering his reckon since current profile quit heavy for my auto gen2 smile.gif
But as i'm using stock suspension, agak2 gap beso sgt tak? Anyone want to sell their adjustable ? tongue.gif

P/s: another thing under my consideration : downgrade to 16".

diff from what I experince... They told me is my car stationary ?? Is better for testing and recommend outdoor parking where covered parking or basement parking might cannot detect wor
*
CAPTOR that comes with gen-2 were using radio frequency(RF) system. That's why it cant detect at several covered spot(under the tunnel, covered parking etc)

Any rubbing/kena makat issue with ur current setup/full load with 4ppl in car?I'm saving for a 5 spoke 17"rim + 205/45/17 on stock absorber&spring.I think 205/40 somehow too thin and 10%-20% more chances of damage for rim compared wit 205/45.That's Just for me la...Need ur input badly. biggrin.gif
*
waaa... badly need my reply? blush.gif hahaha..

5 person : sangkut.
4 person : ok normal road, touch on bumpy road.
3 person : ok at all road.
My car always load 2persons only, so no issue.

205/45/17 on stock absorber&spring:
- quite nice looks since the gap quite small.
- for auto, will feel the car pickup to be a bit sluggish.
- rims can last longer since the tyre thicker.
- maybe can change to sport spring.

205/40/17 on stock absorber&spring:
Info from shazmn:
- refer the prev attach pic from him, still looks ok.
- will save ur fuel consumption a bit.
- yups true, have to be careful on mud poles ~

Geng,
This morning my radio can't turned ON... when i reached my office, the radio still can't be turned ON.. but after i turn off and restart the engine..it came back to life(can ON)!!!

Other symptoms, when i click the volume button(to decrease volume) on the steering, it become mute(rather than decrease the volume)..
Is it wiring, fuse, or battery prob??

Car Details : 1.6 Auto : 2 1/2 yrs : 44K km : Never change the battery yet. (Next service on 45K km)

Terima kaseyh ~
(5 days without any post, where's everybody gone missing? sweat.gif )

Honk can work? If cannot, maybe it is the clockspring?
or maybe it is the battery (tear-and-wear and become weak)?
p/s: ramadan soon, everyone "saving money" .  laugh.gif
In another note:
Anyone know if the CPS editions uses black-base headlamp?
(If yes and) if I get the black base headlamp from CS edition, can plug and play on the ori -no CPS gen2 (first batch edition)?

TQ

You maybe correct.. after further reading.. found this :
QUOTE
The symptom before Clockspring die is
1. horn activate automatically during the steering wheel turn to right or left.
2. the audio buttons on the steering were not function correctly.
3. last is Scratch sound come from steering during turn is louder day by day.

Source:http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?showtopic=51003

I'm not facing the no 1 symptom yet.. but surely the other 2...
Last time when i checked at PSC mutiara damansara, they want to charge me RM1K ++ to change the steering rack all together..
deymn!

Now maybe will ask them to check for the clockspring.. hopefully the price is better..

Thanks Dovienya!

Dont bother changing the steering rack in PSC. If you go spare part shop, you'll know why I say dont bother wink.gif.
The first sympton only happen when it dies. As long as it hasnt die, it wont happen.

The (actual) first sympton is how old is your car? Clockspring have a lifespan of 4years. Mine last until the 5th year before it does. Changing it in PCS cost me 400$++ (if not mistaken).
*
Only 2 and a half years bro.. but the squeaking/scratching sound was there long time ago(when i asked PSC to check, they said no prob..just add some oil)..
just recently the volume ctrl button gone crazy and the radio cant be turned on....

the "demo" guy must be a team that come together in a kancil car with pricey "touch-to-start" security system aight?
They have approached me several time and insist to install their product on the spot. wth.

But the demo they did was quite impressive..
but i keep on thinking, will the captor alert us in this kind of scenario? (force entry).

ya. kancil car. cheap to run around tongue.gif

if want to install captor, the price is rm 1600++ i think .... for proton car. others is 2100++.

i read that captor will sms you on phone to let you know when there is a break in into your car.

not enough budget for captor, might want to go cheaper way, put cheap handphone in car and do friendfinder (telco can pinpoint the location too)

But first, want to put something to block thief from opening the front bonnet ... and also make it harder to open the fuse box.

Lucky that CAPTOR comes together with the previous Gen2 generation!
