hey you guys
been reading alot about how to increase low end torque for my 2008 iafm gen2 1.6//

i recently brought my car to speedwork in pj. had the whole setup change to hotbits - full exhaust system change there. change the air intake as well for the open pot k&n. well definately lot of changes in the high end power but i loose alot on the lower end. i lost my low end power.

so any sifu can tell me what should i do to gain back my low end power or gain more lower end power?

as you know the whole hotbots setup exhaust has no back end box, its a straight end flow from the center. should i install s-flow muffler?

or what should i do?

i even wrap the whole exhaust system smile.gif
bad or good?

i need low end power! huhu/// help help smile.gif

try use back your standard airbox and use KNN drop in, open pod is not suitable for hot campro...are u using stainless stell extractor? if yes, wraping it can cause it easy to crack...
*
u mean install back the standart intake and simple opt for drop in k&n?
huhuhu, no other better option as i just bought the open pot ;p
hehehe.

i wrap the lower part its a 4-2-1 right i wrap starting 2-1. at 4 didnt wrap as i know it will crack if i wrap it that high..

asap rokok not good for environment oso...asap bas mini oso not good...asap lori...asap diesel... icon_question.gif
gen2 stock piping is roughly around 1.7/1.8"...if not mistaken hotbits sized piping is 2.0"...piping size too big not good as u lose low end torque and no backpressure...please correct me if i'm wrong as i never use use hotbits before and i know a lot of my fren says gen2 should use 2.0" piping...

r3 tuned length full exhaust system for gen2 is using a 1.6" sized piping...slightly lower than stock and follow a gen2 1.3 sized piping...so that should mean something? no? unsure.gif

ok simple comparison...change hotbits/wegow header vs r3/powerzone...hotbits/wegow is categorized in a larger diameter piping for extractor compared to r3/powerzone...for hotbits/wegow the high end is good but low end slightly sluggish...but for r3/powerzone u get a good low end and mid range but top end a bit sluggish...

so in my recommended exhaust setup i would suggest using a wegow header together with a smaller piping to compensate the sluggish feeling at low end and at the same time also gives good top end...i guess many would have known my recommended setup already...wegow+3feet long bullet+everco s-flow+smaller piping...etc etc...

so enough on the exhaust bit...now the intake...like h4dri said campro is a hot engine...u need a proper cai heatshield and open pod setup which is not cheap...so the best bang for buck still standard intake together with a performance drop in...for normal campro i could give u a large snorkel for test...for iafm oso got but fitting problem...if want have to be patient and slowly try to fit it enlarge the hole a bit here and there...

anyway why dont u test it yourself...just unplug the open pod and fix the standard intake...for open pod the best time for performance is during the night time only...during daytime u will suffer...

am going back to speedworks in a day or two to sort this out with them smile.gif
there is alot of rightness in what u are saying.
i have decide to take to everco first and see what they can do.
everco is in sunway. huhu, jauh gile.
nothing good in ampang ke bro?

i will post a picture of my engine setup, all been done by speedwork. the headsheild position and shorter intake ram. all been tune by speedwork. neat job they done.
yeah yeah campro is a hot engine.

what cool with this setup is that cruising on north south is good. i can easily cruise an maintain 190km/h. i top high speed at 210km/h with 195/55/15 tyres machelin pp2 and my car is automatic not manual ;p
but in the city, its suck due to no pick up power. low end sucky. huhu..

well i get this info from their site and the picture as well. the engine bay look almost the same as mine but mine is the iafm campro and the headsheild is bigger.
