Hey guys, who was selling the supplement pills?
*
Its a lady called Khasrina from Dkash Cattery.
But she repacks them into little plastic bottles and is not in the original packing.
Reason being she buys them in bulk.
What we can do is we can buy 1000 pills as its more cheaper and then share it amongst us.
What you say? hmm.gif

P/s I just bought 600 for RM48.00. Thanks to Asheed for helping me. biggrin.gif

First of all, I dont think a mixture of maine coon and persion is rare.
Secondly its neither a pure breed maine coon and its neither a pure breed persian.
So I dont think you will fetch much for it.

bg aku aims or blackwood.. bulu kucing gugur... no need supplement to solve this problem..

5 - selalu taruk pelembab kulit untuk kucing bulu panjang or lebat.. sebab negara malaysia ni panas.. that why local cat bulu pendek.

supplement tu tuk bg kuat makan, daya tahan sakit cukup vitamin n etc.

bg free kepada orang yg betol2 jaga tak apa.. tapi yg aku kene aku free. dia jual dlm mudah.. hampeh.. aku bg free sebab kucing tu tak ngam ngan kucing aku yg lain.. tau nk gaduh jer. tp org yg aku bg free tu jual pulak dlm mudah.. adoiiii.... doh.gif
*
Betul tu Capo.
100% agree with you!
Kalo bagi free kat orang kita tak kenal memang ada peluang dia akan jual balik kat Mudah atau mana mana pet forum.
Ni pernah berlaku dengan saya.
Saya bagi my Norwegien Forest Cat for adoption tapi lepas seminggu orang tu jual kat Adpost.
Geram betul! vmad.gif
Alhamdulilah kucing tu hidup ngan aman kat Perlis.
Satu lagi owner baru dia selalu update say tentang perkembangan kucing tu.
Senang hati bila dengar biggrin.gif

Firstly, i think all of us pet lovers would disagree with you on the matter of buying a kitten and eventually letting it go. But a cat is usually worth more as a cute little kitten (3mths) to a bigger kitten (5mths)

Also some people tend to prefer purebreeds to crossbreeds but then again some cats lineage come from 2 different breeds especially bengals.

I would suggest that you do some reading up first on having a kitten rather then having thoughts of selling it off once the 'cute' effect goes off.
*

[/quote]
Secondly, im not buying and then letting it go afterwards in short time. i just wanna know the worth of the cats so that i can know the value of the cat that i take care of. we never knows what will happens in future, Thirdly, if my cats would have a little kittens and its too many to handle i might to let it go so thats why i want to know the value..

you r saying to do some reading? do you read before you buy the kitten? blush.gif

im sorry if im offended anyone here, but i just want to have a kitten and its not like i dont know anything about cats everyone know how to take care of a cats just to think have u guys heard someone take care a cats n then died because of the owner? im just lack of knowledge on the breeds of the cats like what breeds is this cats, something like that..

and again you guys have that knowledge and i seek the knowledge and share together. notworthy.gif
*

Hi Ishiro,

First of all, please dont get offended with what Addedon is trying to say.
What Addedon is trying to say is before getting a cat or kitten, its best to read about its characristic and nature first.
Different breeds have different character so its best to read and know about its background.
Its the same thing also before you breed a cat.
In order to produce good quality kittens we must first find out the character and the line of the parents.
We must make sure that the parents are able to produce healthy and well tempered kittens.

And yes, this forum is for all of us to share and learn information. biggrin.gif

Looks like you are doing great.
Nothing is wrong with the products that you have.
You should not be facing shedding problem unless your cat is stressed.
Bear in mind that during hot weather long haired cats tend to shed more as well.
I recently installed a fan in my cats room and much to my astonishment the shedding has stopped.
Good luck.

just curious bout sumthin,
do cat special character or habits can be pass to their babies (kitten)?

From what I have heard and read from the website :-

This page provides references regarding paternal influences on feline temperament. It is considered that tomcats contribute greatly to the temperament of kittens. This is stated on a number of websites, but without references to source studies. It has been shown in studies that bold, outgoing fathers produce bold, outgoing kittens and this boldness means the kittens are easier to socialise with humans. Timid fathers produce timid kittens and these require more patience and persistence to overcome the inherited timidity. Inbetween "bold" and "timid" is a whole spectrum of personalities. The genetic influence of the mother on other aspects of the kittens' personalities is harder to determine since they mimic her behaviour and this can alter inherited traits.

Breeders have long believed that the sire greatly influences the personalities and temperaments of kittens. A good-tempered, friendly stud cat tended to produce good tempered, friendly kittens. For many years this remained anecdotal and there were no statistics to back it up. Researchers raising colonies of laboratory cats had also noticed differences in the ease with which kittens of different parents could be handled. The differences in personality were evident even though all the kittens were raised under identical conditions. By choosing the right parents, they could breed cats more amenable to the sort of handling needed for experimentation. The fact that the laboratory breeding conditions remained the same meant that something other than environment affected the kittens' friendliness towards people.

So yes... kittens can inherit their parents good and bad traits and that is why it is very important to study about breeding first. I know its fun to have kittens but we want to have healthy and good temperaments kittens.

hye!

would like to know whether you guys know any agents that provide services to manage pet transfer from kl to kch(srwak)? and will settle all the import export document things

i want to bring back my cat from kl to kch =/

n do u noe if its easier to bring back thru route kl - kch or kl/labuan/kuching
thanx!
*
Hi... you would save a lot of money if you do it yourself.
Its not hard at all.
I did it myself the other day.
But I brought in my cats from Kuching to KL.
First of all make sure that your cats is fully vacinated and have the rabies jab.
Secondly apply for the import permit in Kuching.
That you need someone to help you to do.
All they have to do is go to the Jabatan Haiwan with a copy of your cats medical card.
You need to pay RM5.00 per cat.
Then there is an import fee but not more than RM50.00
When you get the import permit only then you can apply for the export permit at any Jabatan Haiwan in KL.
Once you get the export permit you will need to bring your cats for the Vet to physically check your cat and issue the bill of health.
The bill of health is valid for 1 week if I am not mistaken.
During that time you will need to ship your pet out.
You can doi it at MAS Kargo or you can fly together with your cat.
Once you reach Kuching, you will need an agent to clear your cat but you can ask permission from Customs to do it.
After getting the go ahead you just wait for your pet to come out of Cargo, bring to the Vet station at the Kuching airport to get your papers stamped and then surrender the cat for quarantine.
Sounds hard but its actually easy.
You will need not more than a few hours at Jabatan Haiwan.
I did mine all in a day biggrin.gif
Good Luck!

P/s Better KL/ Kuching.less stressful for your cat.

tq for ur reply,

but i heard that the procedure is really tedious to transfer cats from kl to kch, unlike kch to kl.
btw, my cat just had his first vaccine last month n is gonna get the 2nd jab tomorrow, is that ok? or should the 3 jabs be completed first than only i can send him back?
about the quarantine issit true that we need to quarantine it for 6months? i heard bad stories about the quarantine place, thats y im so scared =/
*
No its not.
A few of friends transfered their cats recently and it was alright.
Since its still a kitten then its alright just as long as its had its vacination and rabies shot.
I did call Jabatan Haiwan Sarawak recently and was told that previously quarantine is 6 months but they have lessen it to 2 months the most.
Why don't you check out the quarantine place in Kuching first?
Get a family or friend to do it for you.
I am sure that its just stories and that the Jabatan Haiwan will take good care of your cat.

if like that  rclxms.gif
by the way, where can i get the rabies shot? n do u know how much is the price?
and how many months before the transport should we do the rabies jab?

thank u!!!! hehe  notworthy.gif
*
Of course the quarantine is not in KL.
Since you are bringing your cat to Kuching the quarantine will be in Kuching.
Why you need to quarantine your pets when entering a new country is to ensure that your pet is free from any kind of sickness that may spread any epidemic and is dangerous to the community.
Rabies shot you can obtain from any of the Jabatan Haiwan in Kuala Lumpur depending on which area but my advise is call them first and find out if they have the jab as sometimes you know the government is running out of supplies.
Not enough quota konon.... rolleyes.gif
About the time span for rabies jab and transportation you can also check with jabatan haiwan.

Added on February 27, 2011, 3:20 pmHi Guys,

Here is a detailed list of how to transport your pets to East Malaysia (Sabah / Sarawak). For your information, for transporting pets within West Malaysia, you will not need to apply for any special permit. When buying ticket please state that you will be travelling with your pet. The pet will be charged as baggae and cost will be RM10.00 per kg. When check in bags just inform ticket counter you have a pet travelling with you.

Here is the detailed list for transporting pets to East Malaysia. Hope it will help.

Documents Needed
In order to transfer your pets (especially from West Malaysia to East Malaysia, or vice versa), you need to apply a couple of documents before hand.

1. First, you need to apply an import permit from the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Haiwan of the area you wish to send to. The cost of import permit is RM 11.00.
2. Next, apply export permit from the JPH of the area of origin. For me, I have to apply export permit from JPH. There is also a government veterinary clinic which accepts application of import / export permit. Please check the website for contact details.
3. Finally, bring your pets to a veterinary clinic for medical check up then apply a health certificate from JPH or the government veterinary clinic mentioned above. Of course, your pets must be vaccinated and treated for worms or other diseases before hand. Please take note that both import and export permit has a validity of 30 days, where as the health certificate is valid for 7 days only. So plan properly.

Sending Pets
There are basically two ways to send your pets, either travel with or without you.

You may send your pets via MASkargo. In this case, your pets are not traveling with you. You may fetch your pets at MASkargo terminals of the destination yourself or appointed person (you may need to state the person’s details while reserving).

If you wish to travel with your pets, you may make a special reservation while you purchase your tickets at MAS agency (online reservation is not applicable). Your pets will be checked in as excess baggage and will be charged according to their weights. For more information, click this link and type in “pets” as search keyword. Then click the “Special Assistance – Traveling with Pets” link.

Please take note that all dogs / cats transporting from West Malaysia to East Malaysia will be quarantined for a period of time which stated by respective JPH of the area. The reason is that East Malaysia (Sabah and Sarawak) is free of Rabies. So, quarantine of your pets is compulsory.

A vet informed me that my Meow Meow need to stay at the quarantine station (Kota Kinabalu) for 30 days to ensure that it’s free from Rabies. There’s an exception of 7-day quarantine for microchipped cats. After a week at the quarantine station, you may apply for “home quarantine” from the officer on duty.

Another special notes: don’t ever ask whether AirAsia accepts shipment of pets. AirAsia flights claim to be passenger flights, so they don’t ship live animals.

Also, contact the respective JPH for more information before hand for proper planning. Well, there is also alternative if you think these processes are tedious. You may pay extra to let agents or some vets to arrange these things for you. But I tell you, it’s expensive (may costs you nearly RM 1000). Please don’t ask me which agents or vets offer these services because I really don’t know.

You’re welcomed to ask questions and make comments here. I’ll try my best to answer your questions.

Yes, your cat will be paid for its services and at the same time become a STAR rclxms.gif

Commercial will be on 19th to 22nd March 2011 so those selected might have to take leave. Interested? Please drop me your cats photo so I can submit to my friend.

Any cats will do.
Does not matter the breed, sex or age.
Most important your cat can stay calm and stay put and not wander around.
Not easily frighten also.

Hi All,

I just came back from SPCA Klinik Kembiri as my neighbour and me brought 3 stray cats for castrating under the Snip Program.
When I was there, I went to see the cats in captivity.
There were 3 cages filled with at least 10 cats each in one small cage sad.gif
There were 3 mother cats who had little kittens with them.
One kitten died because it was stepped on by other cats as the cages were small and cramped.
The other two were beautiful siamese cats and one of them just gave birth.
I pleaded with the Officer in charged to let me adopt them as I feared for the babies safety.
Also the cats were looking at me with soulful eyes saying please take me home.
Infact all of them were mewing wanting to go out of the hell hole.
After much pleading and coaxing I managed to get the two siamese cats out.
That's the best I could do for now.
These two cats are for adoption.
However the nursing mother will be with me for a while until the kittens are bigger and stop nursing.
Whilst the other one is up for adoption.
I have no pictures yet but the cats are female chocolate seal point siamese with blue eyes.
Adoption Fee is only RM15.00 as this was the amount I paid to SPCA to get the cats out.
Anyone interested, please pm me.

Thank you.

P/s There are so many homeless cats at SPCA waiting for their FOREVER HOMES. Please save a cat now before they are put to sleep cry.gif
There were many beautiful semi long haired cats there. Every seconds count as they may be put to sleep anytime. Please help them icon_question.gif icon_question.gif

hi... I brought my cat (female) to SPCA spaying program yesterday morning (saturday), honestly, mainly because it is the cheapest option... & I am really really regretful now... 1st of all the doctor wasn't serious while operating at all, chatting with his female assistants all the way, laughter everywhere... and the anesthesia used is suspected to be the very-cheap type... or the amount was too heavy, because it took 10 hours for my cat to be able to walk (not even in full consciousness), very different from what I read online (taiwanese/chinese forums)

pee 5 times, vomit twice in that 10 hours, while the anesthesia was still in effect I was able to feed her a bit of glucose + antibiotic in liquid form, with a syringe. But today, she has not willingly drunk tiny bit of water, not even once, no pee either... let alone food... she seems to be in huge fear... struggle everytime I try to feed her... I am so sad now.... I read this will last up to 3 days before she will start eating food by herself, but I was not able to feed her even a tiny bit of water/glucose.... please help.......... = ( she needs your help........... please advise sad.gif

Hi Extreme,

I was at SPCA Klinik Kembiri yesterday too. I brought in 3 stray male cats for castration. Yes, I do agree with you that it took a bit more longer for them to wake up but overall I am satisfied with their work.

Usually for female it will take longer for them to recuperate as it is considered a major operation for them compared to the male cats. Reason why your cat vomitted is because its reaction to the anesthesia. Its normal for them to do that so nothing to worry about. I suggest to you go and buy a few cans of science ad and feed this to your cat. Science ad is good for cats recuperating from illness or surgery. Right now your cat is stressed and in pain so give her time ok? Dont worry too much. Make sure she is in a cage so that she does not move too much and cause the wound to re-open. Clean the wound everyday and try to put 'minyak gamat' to heal the wound faster. Don't worry 'minyak gamat' is harmless on cats. Your cat will be alright after a week.

Great to hear that biggrin.gif
Just want to share a tip with you.
If you are trying to feed her pills.
Put the pill into the wet food.
What I usually do is take a clump of Science AD and put the pill inside and roll up the wet food into a small ball (hiding the pill).
My cat will eat the wet food plus the pill without knowing that the pill is inside tongue.gif
A good idea from Dr. Teoh rclxms.gif
