in my case , i cancelled my mbb petronas last year coz tht time i apply so tht the salesperson got his quota ( n he's been talking in my office so long i'd give up rejecting )

now i apply the amex gold cc using my hsbc premier cc ... i stil wonder y they take so long to response???? even wan reject oso shud gif a notice ma ... if they r checking records ... as a hsbc premier account holder , how bad would his credit be???

winner thx again for the comparison

as wat i knew , all cc stated the conversion rate is determine by visa / master then the issuer bank only add in their charges ... however my fren said he always use citibank compare to hsbc because the rate are lower .... thts y im asking how is this calculated

based on my fren's n winner's comparison i guess using citibank gif the lowest conversion rate as i dun own alliance nor hlb cards blush.gif ... hsbc always charge higher ... might consider scb since their 2% rebate might write-off the extra charges

That is funny....I called Alliance a few weeks ago and they told me they do not add the 1% charge.

Bank Negara record for 4-Sep was 3.5305. So your 3.529 was even cheaper. Truly excellent.

Bank Negara for 7-Sep was 3.5175. So your 3.513. Again, truly excellent.

While these rates are mere indicative, it is certainly food for thought and may be one reason why I might want to avoid AMEX.

BTW, your citibank is VISA?

If your OCBC is also VISA, then it should be the same. The conversions are done by VISA or MC, NOT the bank itself.

i think wat he meant was Citibank charge him 3.59 but the market rate out there is only 3.5305 .... no? hmm.gif

I know this is going to sound like a v weird request but can someone give me a walk-through as to how to setup Internet Banking with SCB? I've tried 3x and have failed and have almost given up.

The CS I've spoken with is of no help and the last one I spoke with can barely even speak English sad.gif

Added on September 15, 2009, 11:00 ambtw , for the Direct Access MC petrol rebate , i c now they change to 5% on first day of the month 2% other days til 31 dec 2009.

does this means starting 1 jan 2010 , there will b no more petrol rebates???

actually this is my first card , but the credit limit never increase at all , so seldom use ( onli for petrol ) , but after got scb justone , this card already kept in my drawer , so im thinking whether i request for credit increase then i will continue to use ( provided petrol rebate stil got ) or juz cancel it off ... problem is i lazy to submit my income documents , anyway ask them to increase w/o these procedures???

the limit damn low la ... 8k onli sweat.gif

Damn it Citibank! I just received my e-statement and discovered that Citi didn't give me 2x reward points for overseas transactions. I queried the CS but was informed that Citi Plat cc has stopped giving 2x points for overseas retail purchases since last month. I don't find a reason to keep this card now. No cash rebates and additional points. It is actually a lifestyle card (discount for F&B) for me only. CUT IT! tongue.gif

Actually, I should use SCB VI when travelling abroad as it gives 5x choice points! biggrin.gif
