Hi guys,I got some question now. I hope the people here can help me My situation is like this. I did a cash withdraw on 2 bank. One is CIMB Bank and another one is Hong Leong Bank. I withdraw RM1k from both of them. I do know that is the cash advance fee that I can absorb and I do ask some of my friend that do credit card. I told them that I that I cash advance RM1k from 2 bank and I wanna clear the RM2k within the 20 days interest free. But they told me if I everytime also so discipline pay on time and don't let the bank earn any of my interest,he say the bank will recongize me a bad customer because always pay on time and don't let the bank earn any interest $$ and only earn the cash advance fee. So they all asked me don't always pay the full payment ontime. You must late 3 times or 4 times or pay half instead of full and let bank charge me abit then only bank will be happen. I wanna know is it better to pay full payment on time or late and let the bank charge me ? Any advice ?

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jul 21 2009, 01:15 PM) Well, the moment you withdraw cash with your CC, you are immediately charged a fee and thereafter daily interet charges so the banks are happy. Bro, if you really need cash, better you call HLB and ask for balance transfer to your savings/current account where you will not be imposed upfront fee and the interest charges is 0.5% a month (for 6 months plan) and interest charges is based on daily outstanding. Better than withdrawing cash where the interest is high. Oic. Thank you for your help. I know that I will kena charge the fee when I withdraw the money. Daily interest ?? Thank you for your help. Next time I will do this ... I appreciate this .. QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jul 21 2009, 01:15 PM) The interest is immediate from the date you withdraw cash-advance from credit card. There is no 20 days free interest until billing statement or payment date comes. Ohh ok ... better to pay off asap or let the bank to earn interest ?? Now I doing all selling stuff to cover back all these cash advance from cc ...

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Jul 29 2009, 05:18 PM) Guys, those merchants who direct the credit card surcharge to the customers instead of absorbing them, anywhere to report them? BTW, how much is the charges? 2%? 3%? No way you can report them since they already inform you that you have to pay 2% or 3% surchage. If you don't agree,no way they can swap your card and once you agree,no other thing you can do already. Cheers ~

QUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Aug 19 2009, 12:31 AM) Huh ? Your annual gross salary is less than RM18,000 ? Then you are not qualified for HSBC classic credit card either. In fact, if your annual gross salary is less than RM18,000, then you are not qualified for any credit card in Malaysia. The other way to get a credit card is to pledge by Time Deposit (Fixed Deposit - FD). Among the banks that offer this are : - Public Bank (RM10,000 of TD will get RM10,000 of CL) - AmBank (RM10,000 of TD will get RM10,000 of CL) - HSBC (RM10,000 of TD will get only RM8,000 of CL) I think you can also try with RM5000 with local banks. Well,my gross salary is more than RM 18,000. If not I won't be holding 3 credit card for 2 bank now. I'm holding 1 CIMB Classic CC and 1 CIMB Petronoas CC and 1 Hong Leong Bank CC. But those sales girl look like don't like me. Say the citibank need ppl basic income around RM 1,500. Last time the HOng Leong Bank staff also told me the same thing but I straight went to the HQ and do it. Wahah .. it done .. Think I have to go Citibank HQ to have a look if I really want their card This post has been edited by WhiteWing: Aug 19 2009, 12:58 AM

Added on August 19, 2009, 3:04 amQUOTE(MilesAndMore @ Aug 19 2009, 01:53 AM) Wah !! You have a lot of plastics !! Why do you need more, if you don't mind me asking ? Yeah. Just try it at their HQ if you really want their credit card. Hehe ... Because I am the eldest son in my family and if anything wrong,I cannot afford to lend money from ahlong,so I think better that I owe bank rather than ahlong so I better get money from bank. I will , hehe .. HSBC tower just infront my office .. wee xD This post has been edited by WhiteWing: Aug 19 2009, 03:04 AM

QUOTE(Dannyl @ Aug 19 2009, 07:48 AM) Why not you call banks directly to apply? Don't know about other banks, but Standard Chartered sent their boy to pick up my docs and let me sign the forms. I never had to step out of the office. Yeah .. I think citibank they don't want me alr since they got my record ... haha , I will go direct to HSBC tower when my off day ~ QUOTE(zenquix @ Aug 19 2009, 07:55 AM) true. agents usually do not want to take up such cases as they want commission and any borderline cases may = work for no commission. going directly to the bank = service + additional income so no harm doing. OHh ..

QUOTE(hye @ Aug 27 2009, 07:07 PM) Interest is calculated on a daily rest. Means the interest is still running from the point your statement is being generated to the point that you paid. Even a lapse of 1 day is also counted. That's why all the folks here say to avoid cash advance at all cost. Too many hidden T&C and the interest calculation method favors the bank ... the consumer is the sucker. Period. Maybe the regular folks here said it too nicely so people thinks it is not a big problem to just take up a cash advance ... sigh. Mean they charge me 4 days interest .... I cash advance on 20th then I settle it on 24th ... cis !! Sudah kena RM 2.50... sigh .... dun wanna take cash advance anymore !
