my brother in law who works as a credit card sales executive told me if u pay your balance  but less than the minimum amount, on time, it wont affect your credit rating...unlike delaying in paying , is it true?
*
To have a good record, you must always pay in FULL so that the outstanding balance won't be snowballed.

How am i supposed to apply for credit card at bank when i am busy from monday to saturday and im not gonna take a leave just to apply a plastic card. the banks not start doing business when i start working and they off business when i am off work. seriously how am i ever going to own a cc?
*
1. Download the application form from internet, or call the bank to fax you the form
2. Send your application complete with necessary documents via fax, or call the bank to collect the documents from your office.

You don't even need to step out of your office. biggrin.gif

You can call them and they will come to you at your office. Not sure about other banks, but Standard Chartered will.

Different company, my friend.

AMEX is by American Express.
Visa is by Visa
Mastercard is by Mastercard.

AMEX is not widely acceptable in Malaysia compared to Visa and Mastercard.

and can cashback cc and classic cc of the same bank link together?

I went to MBB card centre at 1U on Thursday to cancel my old Sonycard and Mastercard classic (AF due end of the year). The lady said that my Sonycard will be replaced by the new free for life version, so I might as well keep it, ans since I've not used the Mastercard for more than 6 months, it will not be renewed end of the year.

I then applied for the Amex Gold CC and exchange some points for Petronas vouchers. The centre called me yesterday (about 25 hours later) saying that my application has been approved and card is ready for collection. I asked and she said it was shared limit, but I didn't expect that they'll also increase my CL to RM6K, since I asked twice for RM6K and was rejected last year.

Colour me impressed with MBB service for the first time ever!

It makes no difference to the merchant side whatever normal or cashback card that you have as long as it goes through and there's no chargeback, haha. All the differences are with you and the bank and you just need to decide which card to use to get the best benefits you want.

It is also not widely accepted in USA, despite what its name might suggest sweat.gif

It is all the same. Just that most generic credit cards are point based. Some will give you cash back. Just different marketing strategy.

What do you mean by link together ? Do you mean combined credit line ?

Should be alright as long as your CCRIS record is clear.

Consider these cards

CIMB Direct Access - 2% Petrol Rebate (all Petrol Station)
AMEX Gold CC - 5x Membership Rewards point (all Petrol Station)
Citibank Shell Credit Card VISA - up to 5% Rebate

There are some more cards... but these cards above is evergreen promotion, which means until further notice

Not to forget Maybank Petronas VISA which gives 5x Treatpoints and CIMB Petronas Mastercard that gives 2% rebate.

The AMEX Gold credit card 5x Membership Rewards Point is equivalent to 2.5% rebate (roughly, could be higher depends on which shopping voucher you want to redeem).

Around 2.25% - 2.75%. But bear in mind that you will only get 5x TP when you pump at Petronas station and shop at Mesra shops. All other purchases will earn you only 1x TP = RM1.

If you pump at Shell, i'd suggest you to get AMEX Gold credit card instead. It gives you 5x Membership Rewards (MR) points for every Ringgit. You'll also get 5x MR points when you shop at most major supermarkets (Carrefour, Tesco, Giant etc.) and bookstores (Kinokuniya, MPH, Times, Borders). As for all other purchases you will get 2x MR for every RM1. It is by far the best credit card from Maybank smile.gif

Not when I first bought my Dell in 1999. That was the time I cut mine in half.
