Hi,
I just bought AOC 2434Pw, but the LCD can not display in full screen. I mean there is still a quite big black edge around the Window desktop screen. So is that error setting of AOC LCD or graphic card.
I used Dell Vostro 220s with 256MB PCIe™ ATI Radeon™ HD3450 w/HDMI Out and DVI Out.

I am looking for your help and advice.

TQ

yes, correct, I use HDMI cable from AOC LCD. But AOC 2434PW only has 2 ports: 1 HDMI, and 1 is VGA port not DVI.
So How to solve this problem all my frens.

Btw , dear Chris2k4, what do u mean "open cat ctrl center ->dtv(dvi)->scaling option", where is that option?

Thanks

-Driver installed ?
-Using 1920x1080 resolution ?
-what is your horizontal & vertical position setting under the image setup ?

Yes, I alredy installed driver for the LCD and graphic card. In the GC control panel, I can set to up 1920x1080 resolution, but still can not dis[lay fullscreen, the black egde still appears.
And when I set 1920x1080, the resolution is not good also.
What do u mean "horizontal & vertical position setting under the image setup "?

what driver version you install , have u install the whole package (graphic+ catalyst control center) for ATI Radeon™ HD3450?
*
Yes, all were installed by Dell already. I can open Catalyst Controller, but can not find that option, tried whole night.
In the Catalyst Controller, the graphic card allow to set up to 1920x1080@ 60Hz resolution, but can not display full screen, having black gap between windows screen and LCD edge.
The thing that I use HDMI cable, not DVI or VGA. Just now I try to connect my laptop (Geforce 1GMB) using VGA cable, the AOC 2434PW can display full screen without any black edge.
So the problem is using HDMI cable or because of my graphic card having low spec 256MB ATI Radeon™ HD3450.

More infos:
-LCD AOC 2434Pw hav only 2 port: HDMI and VGA
-My graphic card 256MB ATI Radeon™ HD3450 hav also 2 ports: HDMI and DVI (not VGA port)
-My PC hav VGA port, but from the main board.

Pls advise me to solve this, I think I can not afford to upgrade my graphic card right now, tight budged.

Tq in advance.

Some ATI card have this problem when using HDMI with HDTV/HDCP enabled LCD monitors or LCD TV.
U have to enable and set the scaling options to overscan in the ATI catalyst control center man.

Damn it, this option is disabled in my Catalyst Control Centre. So what should I do now.

Disabled ?????

Do u or can u check the box below the slider as shown on the picture ?

Or u totally cannot access or cannot click anything on this section ?

Have u updated to the latest version of the ATI CCC and driver ?

Some pictures of ur ATI CCC might give a clearer picture for members here on how to assist in ur troubleshooting.

Yes, totally disable, can not access this option. I am downloading the latest ATI CCT for Vista now.
Btw I connect HDMI port of gc to my LCD monitor AOC 24" using HDMI cable, not HDTV. So is that the same or not.

Tq

Maybe u have to try update ur ATI CCC for ur Vista and see if the option is available or not.
Normally the scaling and overscan options can be set from the icon (normally called DTV[HDMI] or DTV[DVI] or Digital Panel Properties) between the Display Options (icon) and 3D (icon) in ur ATI CCC left hand panel.

Once u use HDMI cable, connect to HDTV LCD TV or HDCP enabled LCD monitors for PC should have same result.

Thanks All,

My prob was solved just now. There are two solutions as below:

1. Use DVI-VGA converter to connect from GC(DVI port) to AOC LCD (VGA port) using VGA cable, so it works perfectly. No need to install latest version of Catalyst Control Center.
I tried this one first.

2. Install the latest ATI CCC version, download from ATI.com, pls note to select correct GC type and OS (Vista or XP, 32 or 64 bit).
Then I changed to used HDMI cable
After that log in ATI CCC and do as Limray's advice "enable and set the scaling options to overscan in the ATI catalyst control center ". It works more than I expected. icon_idea.gif
I throw away my VGA cable right after that, ha ha rclxm9.gif

Again TQ all my frens. Now I can enjoy my new 24" LCD AOC.
