Viewsonic is 23.6 not a pure 24", and since budget is not a concern at the moment, u can also check out Samsung P2450 or LG w2453v (both well known leaders in LCD manufacturing, see wikipedia).. or if u want u can get a 24" IPS panel from DELL around RM1599.. If u really want even bigger u can go for ASUS VK266H (25.5" going for RM1349 with built in speakers)

I suggets u read online reviews of all the abovesaid LCD before making a decision.

Most of the LCD are on display side by side at Thundermatch and ALLIT at Lowyat.. Built in speakers generally sucks (read previous posts) it is better u use your own speakers and connect it to the LCD sound output..Cheers!

seriously.. for future compatibility... new monitors must have at least a DP port.... HDMI is not a must (if DVI is present)

i see > 95% monitors sold now dont have displayport. why so important?
vga d-sub survived for more than 15 years can still be used with adapter if gpu card doesnt have vga out

if you want triple-monitor setup with ati eyefinity and need to use 1 displayport from the card, can use this displayport to hdmi adapter eh

Both these are passive DP to DVI/HDMI adapters .... not all DP ports will have pass-through DVI/HDMI signals going through the DP (also known DP+). You'll need a powered active DP to DVI/HDMI converter for the case of AMD/ATI 5870 (& all the rest of the 5000 series), if you want to power more than 2 monitors. These powered active converters are not cheap (around USD 100).

Besides adding DP input to a monitor does not incur much cost to the monitor manufacturers. In fact if a monitor with DP cost the same as without, perfect logic is to get one that has it). Especially if you r getting a new monitor.

U2410 is beyond FullHD (1920x1080) with 1920x1200 resolution (& it has a 4 port USB hub and a multi card reader)...

Those monitor with built in speaker, either the sound source from HDMI or a 3.5 port. If you don't want any sound out from monitor, you just set the volume to zero.

Buy any monitor that you affordable, actually few pages back was discussing about Dell U2410 which is a 16:10 monitor.
