Ok guys, here's the pic :

This only happen at bright color, noticable in crysis game (the color went bad circle around the sun), hawk (same with crysis), plants vs zombie as picture below :

Original color :
[attachmentid=1175725]

AOC 2434PW :
[attachmentid=1175723]

Pairing with Gecube HD3870 X-Turbo III (DVI>HDMI port dongle)

*one thing, only noticeable when there's movement.. and not only in game, while browsing also got when scroll up and down.
*
Look like dithering for me, could some one confirm the panel in use is 8 or 6 bits?

Here is what i manage to dig up: http://forums.mactalk.com.au/28/71142-aoc-...24-monitor.html

Means that my 2494HS will also suffer from this issue? If i'm not mistaken, they both use the same panel.

Well, IPS is good for photo editing since colour accuracy is important too or serious gaming laugh.gif

Its just that, its hard to find any good TN panels theses days. Hopefully the price of IPS panels will come down soon.
Actually, Dell's pricing is quite reasonable compared to other IPS panels since the other alternatives like the one from HP costs around RM2k-3k?

No i don't believe the problem lies with dithering. As i said, the problem is more likely caused by inverse ghosting from the overdriven panel. A possible solution would be to try some other modes in the LCD panel.

The discolouration you see is possibly caused by overvolting the lcd pixels to achieve that 2ms pixel response time.

A description of the problem can be found in this article. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/monitors/...-of-overdrive/5

So the problem doesn't lie so much with the lcd panel but more with the hardware pushing the panel.

Have you calibrated the settings yet? I am using the P2350 and don't find it to have brightness problem.

If you take on your monitor head on there is not much different between IPS or TN, unless you sit on the side to play your game.
I would rather spend the different on upgrading other component.

LOL...same thinking for me last whole night... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
what convince me is:
5 year warranty, mean this monitor at least can last 5 year without problem. Total price Rm 1644. 1 day rm 0.92444444. ok la..hamtam nia... tongue.gif

although i know there maybe better monitor come out afterward, but nvm la...cos mine 17inch crt edi can last me for 8 year without complaining about its performance until now. tongue.gif

advance from a 17" crt to a 24" lcd.... drool.gif drool.gif

ya, its depend on person to person. some may not sensitive for the performance, than there is not much different you can notice as long as u don compare side by side~ biggrin.gif The U2410 is a wide gamut LCD...so...not everyone can accept this~ smile.gif

From the comments of those forums, seems like AOC 2434PW has lots of problems. Should I opt for Viewsonic at that price point instead?

Previously I used Samsung TN panel, then change to Dell 2209WA, side by side, can see the difference, which is obvious that most will pick the 2209WA by just see the picture.

Yup, have to agree, if not put side by side, then won't notice much different, except the viewing angle.
