Fixed it on my XFX 9600gt XXX (750/1750/1000) and got a huge temperature drop.

Pros:

Before is idle 60c, load (u imagine). Now idle 37-38c, load <50. Fan running full but still good for me.

Cons:

1. Only 2 heatpipes made contact since the G94 chip got no IHS. Wasted two of the heatpipes.
2. The ramsink thermal pad is very poor in quality. Can fall off easily. No choice but to use it.
3. 2 of the ramsinks as i highlighted need to be modded as the heatpipes got blocked and cant mount properly. They should include two low profile ramsink and save my time sanding it for so long.

Added on August 17, 2009, 1:05 pmBtw, i used Arctic Cooling MX-2 by spreading a very thin layer. The pressure and contact is very good so no need for alot of paste or other technique.

Anyway, if im not mistaken, shouldn't use the white thermal paste provided as that will corrode the copper.

Bro lingloong, when wanna bring the bifrost in brows.gif .

Looking at the photo, guess it will utilize more heatpipes since they are positioned close to each other. thumbup.gif

But nickel plating will trap the heat and the fans seems to be lower performance sad.gif
