hey guys.. glad to hear that 3.0 is available while waiting for msia app store to provide 3.0 OS, i wanna ask some (noob) ques..

1. will the update process removes all my apps, games, songs, etc?
2. if yes, is there any app to backup them (dun really wanna go through all the games to unlock levels etc)

i dont know about battery usage condition, so far seems normal.. and wifi seems as fast as before, tested with the SpeedTest.net app, similar results to the previous firmware.. but will try later tonite for better judgement.

i've noticed one thing.. most of the apps closed unnaturally, meaning not the usual 'shrinking' effect, instead it just closes like that. it only happens when i run and close any app for the 1st time, but it shrinks normally the next time i run n close the same app.

and yeah, battery drains slightly faster now.. perhaps it's the bluetooth. other than that, seems ok. i managed to detect, pair and connect a few other bluetooth devices..
my nokia e61i - detects, paired, but cant permanently connect after pairing.
some SE phones - detects, paired, connects permanently.. but nothing can be done onwards.

need to find some a2dp bluetooth headphones motorola S9 seems a nice choice, but gotta be careful so many fake S9 in the market, saw a few youtube vids too..

btw, the new itunes 8.2 syncs my audio files slightly slower than the previous version.. not a big fuss but that's what i noticed as well.

if u want ur unit to be the way it is without adding thickness, use BG.. or u dun mind slight thickness (depends on casing), can use sp + casing, but some might find it a bit fuss when taking out the unit from pockets bcoz the casing (silicone usually) can slip out of the ipod.

btw, i understand firmware 3.1 beta (build 7C97d) is in the progress.. perhaps this update will fix the bugs, lags, crashes in 3.0..

yea using dat silicone case, it doesnt attracts dust but d blackness starts to fade :-P im in alor setar, yea sure y not, as long as u got everything needed for JB, it only takes a few minutes..

do these mics actually work for voice chats / voice memos?

me too.. i've had my boomwave skull for some time alrdy, thinking of getting the black switcheasy torrent.. the utube vid review seems interesting..

nowadays a can safely say that it has 'stretched' a bit, my ipod sometimes easily pops out of the case.. oh well, what do u expect from a soft silicone case anyway rite? so i think im gonna get the s'easy torrent.. nyumee~

try jb ur 3.1.3 with redsnow..


for MB models, 3.1.3 is jb-able.. for newer MC still some say can, some cannot..

hey guys.. i've just updated my ipod touch 2g (mb model) last night via redmondpie's website tutorials.. (cant elaborate too much due to jb)

when i enabled the home screen wallpaper, there's a slight lag in opening apps, sliding btwn pages.. so i re-jb without the home screen wallpaper option. now everything runs smoothly. :-)

multitask works fine, but not all apps support this feature. usually when u press the home button, the app exits. but now, it somehow standby in the b'ground.. to fully close the app, u can double tap the home button, the multitask row will appear, hold onto the app icon u want to close, once it wiggles just tap the 'minus' button (similar when u wanna delete an app).

^ exactly.

^ probably bcoz now the wifi can be active during sleep mode, and also backgrounding those multitaskable apps (mails, safari, music, etc).. to save battery, turn off wifi and fully close ur apps (within the multitask row).

btw, the first two disadvantages can be achieved via jb :-)

iPt2g owners.. iOS 4.0 update will somehow mess up ur wifi connection. wait until apple rectify this. im suffering terrible wifi experince at the moment.. crap

hmm mayb iPt2g r having probs but iPt3g r fine.. will try re-restore again.

u cud re-jb without the homescreen wpaper option. the ui will run a lot smoother.

if u have a symbian phone, with Joikuspot installed (makes ur phone as a hotspot).. then u can connect ur ipod touch to ur phone via wifi, and the connection will use the phone's data (edge, 3g, 3.5g, etc) wherever available..

hopefully the new 4.0.2 update fixes those bugs in 4.0 firmwares.. testing the 4.0.2 for now.. battery usage, safari performance, etc.. will update later.

although the still photos aren't impressive but the 720p hd video recordings is.. i downloaded the raw video from engadget's review of the new ipt4g and i'm surprised how good and smooth it is coming from this thin device..
