Also, if you connect through the line out of the iPod, the volume slider automatically disappears, which is a nice touch.

I just noticed, that videos playlists now show up under "Music". Which is great, cos now we can have video playlists

I think battery usage is slightly worse. My iPod usage in morning commute usually takes up to 5% or less battery. This morning it took 10%. Music playback takes a while to even eat 1%, but now it seems slightly faster.
I think that new features are taking its toll on battery. Especially push notifications that run in the background. Wi-fi seems ok to me. I'm still downloading at the same speeds at my local starbucks This post has been edited by Darkchaser: Jun 23 2009, 05:55 PM |

After playing with 3.0 for a few days, I can say that the features are very nice.....BUT I'm not sure whether it's worth the USD10 asking price. I mean, at the end of the day it's still just your iPod and it still just plays music like it's intended to.
If I was an iPhone3G user and was asked to pay USD10, I'd gladly do it....because you get MMS and CopyPaste, both very essential for a smartphone. In the end it feels more of a mandatory upgrade just so that you can play the latest games/use the latest apps. Maybe a USD300 upgrade to Touch 3rd Gen might satisfy me |

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Jun 25 2009, 12:45 AM) Well, you have the option to NOT to download. Wait it out, read the reviews and judge for yourself to see if it is worthwhile downloading for USD9.99. If it isn't, then don't update. Nobody is forcing anyone here. But if the game devs starts moving to 3.0 because of its other features like Peer-to-peer bluetooth gaming, then........... Well, I already upgraded anyways. Don't wanna miss out on games that are compatible with 3.0 only. |

The iPod Touch is increasingly becoming more like an iPhone minus the Phone. With the camera seemingly all but confirmed, the only thing differentiating the Touch and iPhone is the phone functions (and its thickness....to a lesser extent)
Not sure if I'll be upgrading in September. Although the lure of a 64GB Touch will surely be strong.... |

QUOTE(chingwooi @ Jul 9 2009, 01:25 AM) Rumours are spreading around saying that the next generation of iPod touch will hv camera integrated It's already supporting Apple Lossless, which are pretty big files themselves. 320kbps mp3s aren't that small either. 64GB is still pretty small considering early HD-based iPods were running 120GB at one time. And of course with the Touch/iPhone, we're not only talking about music, but videos, apps and pictures as well. I'm not too excited about a camera. I mean, if you have an iPod Touch, you most likely have a separate handphone. And even cheapo handphones these days have 2MP - 3.2MP cameras. So I don't see it as an advantage. If it could support SIMCards just purely for HSDPA surfing, then that'd be a different story. That's easily the biggest advantage of iPhone vs Touch now. My wishlist for iPod Touch 3G, features which would make me jump at it straight away: - 64GB storage - Better battery life for gaming. Music and video is ok, but games just drain too much. - SIM slot for HSDPA broadband. I can dream right? Yeah, maybe I should just go for 3GS |

I was surprised when I saw Monster Turbines selling at Machines Sunway. But the price RM899....fricking 2 times the retail price in the US. Way too expensive for a mid-level IEM.

QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ Jul 10 2009, 03:58 PM) hi, every1... need some suggestion here... recently my ipod touch 1G jus become brick... i cant on it... but when i try to connect to my laptop, it responded... n i m allowed to restore it... but when the restore process reached around 70%, it will jus hang thr... not moving at all even i leave it for 1 day.... That is really, the dumbest response from a staff. If what he said is true, then all iPods/iPhones is not repairable......tat day i went to apple store at The Gardens, the stupid staff told me they cant open it, coz thr is no screw... WTF!!! so izit mean thr is no way to fix an ipod touch if it has prob?? any1 got any suggest to save my ipod?? Of course you can open the iPod Touch. A lot of non-Apple here have managed to open it up and replace batteries/mod stuff inside the iPods. You can trawl around the iPhone forum, there's someone who can repair it. crxr IINM. Or better, since you are at Gardens, you can try going to Mid Valley's machines. They should be more reliable as they are one of the flagship stores. Or EpiCenter at Pavillion. Even if they themselves can't repair it, they should be able to send to someone who knows how to. |
