UltraSn0w Fixer Brings UltraSn0w Unlock Compatibility for iOS 4.3.2 - April 19th, 2011



Those of you who have updated to 4.3.2 while preserving their basebands using Sn0wBreeze or PwnageTool bundles are out of luck because the official version of UltraSn0w is not compatible with 4.3.2 yet…

Fortunately, there is UltraSn0w Fixer for 4.3.2. This app will fix UltraSn0w issues on 4.3.2 for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4.

Added on June 23, 2009, 6:02 pmto those who wished to unlock the iPhone 3G, here's what I did :

1. Make sure iTunes is already up-to-date (version 8.2)
2. Update iPhone 3G OS to version 3.0 using Update button on the iPhone page on iTunes
3. Then use redsn0w to Jailbreak your iPhone. Tutorial can be found here (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4301)
4. Now you can start unlocking using ultrasn0w by following the steps provided above by teikwing or you can find the tutorial here (http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=4325).

theoretically, yes because the 3GS have same baseband with 3G, but what happend is,3GS hardware different(proc etc) and now there still no jailbreak tools for 3GS yet, and if there is a jailbreak tools have release for the 3GS, dev team will inform either it will work with 3GS or not..


so the answer is. No, for the time being~~

Guys wait... I read it on Engadget that the Ultrasn0w does support the original iPhone 2G. Only 3G[S] is not supported at the moment but another release is set this coming Friday.

Hmm... thats confusing. But I guess better stick to the conventionals.

It seems geohot has made some breakthrough regarding 3G[S] jailbreak. I strongly advice the current 3G[S] users who are looking to jailbreak or unlock their devices, go do a usb dump of your images ASAP. I mean NOW!. The reason is, the images of the 3G[S] are now signed by Apple server so if Apple patched the 3G[S] exploit in the 3.0 firmware with an upgrade (i.e. 3.0.1) then it will be too late for you. For future 3G[S] owner, you should go get it ASAP to have a better chance in future jailbreaking/unlocking of your device (no guarantee though).

P.S. don't ask me how to do usb dump, google is your friend and the sifu's here may be able to help you

So far, only 1 successful post

tons of 3G users from all over the world have successfully unlock theirs HERE. yet to unlock mine as WiFi is not available at my place for now. (only managed to realized that moments before i click on the Update button on iTunes after i'm done with all my backups)

Just tried it. Had to jailbreak it twice. Now its working like a charm!

WARNING!

When using redsn0w to jailbreak the iPhone. DO NOT install Icy!
My Cydia was unable to install anything because of Icy.

If you already jailbreaked and installed Icy, just run redsn0w again but DO NOT tick the Icy box!

One Question,

Does this unlock include iPhone 3G 2.2.1 using baseband baseband 2.30 and another firmware of baseband i dont know what it call 6.04 that cant unlock by
fuzzy app ,something like that la. So if i upgrade his phone to 3.0 this ultrasnow should be work right???No matter what firmware r u using now.

If can use i think he will kills me....he just bought the phone with turbo sim last week!!!

Anyway , I do agree with cydia,icy both together will causing u guys updating or installing any app in cydia.(fixed with untick icy in Redsnow)
Also i restored my back up causing my battery drain so fast, Example the icon showing full bar,but lockscreen only 20-50%, in other words the phone

I jailbreaked with Redsnow 0.71 and there was only option for Cydia. Ultrasn0w works without any problem. I am using AT&T (not iphone plan) in USA.

guys, i already did everything according to the tutorial / guide on how to unlock / jailbrake iphone 3G. i already installed ultrasn0w but i cant seem to get the maxis signal. tried inserting the sim card in n out a few times but still stays d same.."no service". is there any settings i need to switch on / off to make it work ?

Did you fully reboot your iphone? Turn completely off and turn on again?

My iphone 3G (US set) just finish upgrade to OS3.0, jailbroken and ultrasn0w successfully. So happy to see "My Maxis" on top of the carrier bar

just restore to firmware 3.0 and follow the guide in the first place. basically when you resotre the firmware to 3.0 and baseband will be on 4.26.08 and you are ready to use ultrasn0w to unlock the phone. happy ready and do let us know the result.


try to reboot the phone and make sure everythings have been done etc. usually after you reboot the phone it will work( at least for for me) try it and do let us info:




p/s: Just follow the format teikwing mention in the first post so that others can see what carrier/phone information(coutry version etc). i have update mine for my eldest brother phone, installed it first time and it works. for the maxis.

ok guys, i just restored / jailbreak / install ultrasn0w all over again just to cover if i had left any of the tutorial steps..so now its working, guess i did missed sumthing. anyways, i already sent n mms to my iphone but nothing happen, are there any mms configurations i need to input 1st ? like nokia / se n all, we need to save the configuration files n whatnot to activate d mms settings rite, so..is it the same for iphone ? text messaging works great tho..

usually for the maxis the setting come by default, for others you need to manual setting the network/apn thingy i your iphone.

You don't need AT&T sim to activate.

You don't need to pay people to do it.

Try checking within cydia's installed packages. You may be able to uninstall it within Cydia.

@callmevil: you can do everything on your own. just follow the tutorial/guide on post 4. you don't need your AT&T sim to make it work.

why when i try to restore my iphone theres an error?

guyz, i used the restore file from a CD Maxis gave me, just now it works just fine, jailbreak / unlock n everything, but then when i tried to restore my contacts / sms / notes / calendar.. my phone became unstable, it keeps on switching on n off on the Slide To Unlock screen. so, again..i restored n jailbreak..its fine, but now i cant get maxis signal, again. reinstalled ultrasn0w couple of times, restarted couple of times.. still..nothing..

its not from local / original factory unlocked. n i have never used turbosim or whatnot b4 this. it works great, fine with yellowsn0w..infact, i did receive a signal right after i restore to 3.0 / jailbreak / unlock it for d 1st time, then when i got some probs with the phone, i did d restore again n now i cant seem to get the signal anymore.

that's an odd case. mine is working well previously with yellowsn0w too and so does ultrasn0w. mind to tell us which carrier you're on?

here's all the steps i went through (in my case):

1. Download and update iTunes to 8.2
2. Download redsn0w 0.7.2
3. Download iPhone 3G 3.0 firmware
4. Restore iPhone 3G in iTunes to firmware 3.0
5. Jailbreak using redsn0w (install only Cydia)
6. Load Cydia and add Source "repo666.ultrasn0w.com"
7. Search for "ultrasnow" and download
8. Download completed (No signal yet)
9. Reboot iPhone
10. "Searching" comes up and Maxis carrier shows right after that.

*There's no need for me to take out the sim card at any time through out the restoring, jailbreaking and unlocking process.

do check again and go through the whole process again. if after everything and still failed, consult Hanxz here.

Jailbroken iPhone Push Notification Problems and Unstable ultrasn0w Signal?

Push is broken if you hacktivated your phone (2G or 3G)
To get push working on your iPhone 3G, you must activate with any AT&T Sim
No known push fix for the iPhone 2G
In many cases, restoring your old iTunes iPhone backup will cause problems - especially if the backup was made from jailbroken phones
Old 2.x backups seem to cause some or all of the following: Poor battery life, unstable ultrasn0w connection, and unable to launch apps
Apple is a bitch

Update 2 (6/24/09): If you have an AT&T sim lying around (activated or not), you can try this method to get push working on iPhone 3G’s :

Tip: if you SSH to /var/root/Library/Lockdown/activation_records and delete wildcard_record.plist, the next time you reboot your phone, it will ask for activation again, thus allowing you to easily put in an AT&T sim and activate with iTunes open - this should allow you to skip the restore and re-jailbreaking steps if you already are in that state.
This will also fix the ultrasn0w signal losses. When you get signal losses after installing ultrasn0w, its probably because you restored an old backup of your phone which restored an older version of wildcard_record.plist. When you reset activation and use an AT&T sim, you gain push and a stable connection.

1. You need an Unactivated or Activated ATT Sim
2. Take out your T-Mobile SIM and Pop in your Unactivated ATT Sim card (Just found out any ATT Sim is ok).
3. Restore and Jailbreak with redsn0w (If you are already jailbroken and deleted wildcard_record.plist, you can skip this step)
4. Go to Settings -> General -> Network, and disable 3G
5. Let iTunes activate the phone - you should get a “Waiting for activation.” message, dismiss it and Open cydia.
6. Add the Ultrasn0w with source repo666.ultrasn0w.com
7. Install ultrasn0w and turn off your phone
8. Remove the ATT sim and insert your T-Mobile sim
9. Turn on the phone, once you receive service you should get the message. “iPhone has been activated”
You should gain signal bars and your push notifications should work. Remember to go into network settings and add your APN for your data plan. Test push notifications with the free version of the AIM app.

i have the ori at&t sim card

yes i know i hv to follow those method. but there is no wildcard_record.plist in those folder. so how do i want to delete this file when it is not there...

Score : 4 out of 5... MMS & contact sharing still works even though toggle for 3g & edge is off in SBSettings... dun have vid recorder by default. otherwise would give extra credit...

here is some findings of mine,
this might be important for some people, there have been people with locked sets encountering problems after they have ultrasn0w their phones.

one particular one is owned by chong+, according to him, everything works fine until he ultrasn0w-ed his phone.

no signal..nothing, and the phone only pops out the signal when its mood is good.
tried pwnagetool again with his phone, and it doesnt seem to work as well.

so becareful guys, ultrasn0w your phones at your own risk.

initially, MMS didn't work due to i missed out the last 4 digit number on the MMS proxy setting (:8080) - and works perfectly (sending and receiving) after inputting those 4 digits.

jailbreak using redsn0w failed few times, re-jailbreak successful after booting my laptop to "safe mode". (info gained from  Pwnagetool and Redsn0w , iPhone 3.0 Unlocking/Jailbreaking on the first page, tested by Shock).

no problem in downloading applications from both iTunes and Cydia, accessing youtube, no drop calls, consistent 3G signal while surfing - but sucks a lot of my airtime.

most noticeable change (cons) - sucks a lot of battery life.

for info, before restoring to 3.0, i was still using the old 2.2 firmware with 2.28.00 baseband, quickpwn+yellowsn0w unit from Australia.

so far very satisfied with my iphone, couldn't find any fault with it, period.

just had my gf's iphone 3g to this new firmware...somehow quite noticable battery usage is faster than normal?? maybe its really meant for the new iphone 3gs which they might supply bigger battery capacity??

many users all around the world have reported facing battery issues once they updated to 3.0. it's quite common.

Watch the keynote. Schiller did mention that the 3GS carries better battery endurance than the current 3G model.

Did you setup any email account with the phone? Check to see if push notifications were on for any of the accounts. I had my on with my yahoo account. I deleted the account and checked that push notification was turned off for the account and my battery life was back to normal.

24Kpwn lives on, in the iPhone 3GS!
About 5 hours ago (Thursday evening, less than a week after the 3GS launch), we were able to verify that the 24Kpwn exploit that the hybrid team used on the iPod Touch 2G is still applicable to the bootrom of the iPhone 3GS. That means we can use the same sort of technique used by our current redsn0w tool to jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 3GS.

This is great news, but how did it happen? Why didn’t Apple fix this in their normal cat&mouse fashion? Well it seems this bootrom was cut in about the August 2008 timeframe, so the unintended early reveal of 24Kpwn earlier this year didn’t affect the iPhone 3GS.

And yes, ultrasn0w will be able to be used on the iPhone 3GS for you unlockers! (In fact, without any modifications whatsoever!)

Important: Apple has not given up on the cat&mouse game, and in fact there are challenging aspects of the 3GS jailbreak that aren’t in the other devices. It’ll take some time to safely work these into our tools, but the fundamental weaknesses are there: The bootrom is exploitable via 24Kpwn, and the baseband is exploitable via ultrasn0w. (And just like with the 3G, ultrasn0w for 3GS requires that you not update your baseband when Apple comes out with new firmware.)

your i3g is from australia...... is lock set or official unlock?

I think you might have an embedded turbosim inside your iphone.

try use another simcard prolly 3G from maxis. Actually any card will do. I did hv some issues for my friends iphone but when i changed to my card, the service is up. Once its done, change back to your simcard and yes do check if yours is turbosim as crxz said. happy trying!

Well I've tried 3 different Sim cards and none of them worked. Also I don't think there's any TurboSim is in the iPhone 3G since the Sim tray is empty. Anyone have ideas?

guys, it seems dat i got my i3g to work with ultrasn0w after restoring / jailbreaking / unlocking via my fren's MAC ! i dont know why but when i upgraded my dad's / frens i3g via WINDOWS it works wonderfully, but "No Signal" issue with mine everytime i do so.. still, after unlocking it via MAC, i need to switch on n off the airplane mode to get the signal. everytime i restarted the phone i need to do so.. its not a big problem, s long s it will work i wouldnt mind d small effort.. but i need one more help guys, what is the settings for MMS, i've waited for few days d, but i didnt received d MMS i sent from my other phone.

Which email do you use with the iPhone? Try deleting and adding it again. Also, within the account settings, there is another place for push settings.

hello i'm new to jailbreaking. i still dont get it. do i update my iphone first to 3.0 using itunes before using the redsnow? because i read from iclarified tutorial it say download the firmware and then put inside the pwnage folder.

before u jailbreak, ur device need to be in 3.0 first...

then u jailbreak using redsnow...

Just make sure you read the tutorial completely. If you got that far into putting it in the pwnage folder, keep on reading until the process is done.

i just recieved a OS 3.0 software CD from my friend (maxis user), can i update it?
my iphone is from Canada (hardware unlock) firmmare 2.2.1 , and jailbreaked.
will my things gone after updating it?

Hello bang. U can update to 3.0 regardless of u hv da cd or not. U can upgrade n Jb to use ultrasnow.
