Guys, noob question again. Just want to ask if im having Gevey Turbosim working with my locked 3.10 baseband ios 4.2.1, can i update my ios to the latest version 4.3.2 and continue using my Gevey Turbosim to unlock my phone? Please help me. Thanks!

hello guys..i have problem with my iphone 3gs..after a few times, finally i got jailbreak to IOS 4.3 with snowbreeze. Unfortunately, i cannot unlock it with ultrasnow :-(. i found that unlock process is simple and i tried a few times but still cannot unlock the phone.i did not update my baseband (remain 4.26.08). Any sifu can help me?

Or any possibility that my IOS has problem and i need to re-jailbreak? i hope i do not need to re-jailbreak again because it quite hard to me.

You are talking about things that are not related to each other

1. Ultrasn0w - allows you to unlock your phone (for those locked set ie. AT&T set etc etc), an unlock can only be apllied once a phone is jailbrken
2. Sn0wbreeze - a Windows program that allows you to create custom firmware which in turns allows you to jailbreak your phone. Custom firmware is a modified iOS firmware that allows you to preserve your baseband (why do you need to preserve baseband? -- well since ultrasn0w can ONLY work with certain baseband so you will want to make sure that during the upgrade, you don't upgrade the baseband)
3. Greenpois0n - A multi OS program that allows you to jailbreak your iPhone but only up to firmware 4.2.1, firmware higher than 4.2.1 is not supported

For firmware higher than 4.2.1, you will need to use redsn0w - WARNING, redsn0w is for those with factory unlocked iphone, those who only require a jailbreak and does not require unlocking of the baseband.

as a title, how can i activated my phone without a proper simcard?
I need my phone to use as ipod. But i dun have a proper sim for the locked carrier...

How can i get the sim? or any other way that dun need sim?

A bit reluctant to say anything as the jailbreak thread is currently closed due to some idiot who posted piracy stuff

BUT, if you don't care about unlocking the phone, then you can use redsn0w to JB and activate the phone, the baseband will be upgraded (so basically there is a BIG chance that you will not be able to unlock the phone forever --other than using the Gevey Sim).


Using either Pwnagetool or sn0wbreeze will allow you to preserve the baseband (and most likely allow you to activate the phone as well) so I would recommend this route. Who knows, maybe after activation, you find out that the phone is on a baseband that can be unlocked via ultrasn0w ... you may be lucky.

I suggest you visit http://iclarified.com and follow their excellent tutorial if you need to do something about your iPhone either via redsn0w, pwnagetool (for Mac) or sn0wbreeze.
