haha cant expect much from laptop speaker lo ... even they say got this and that ..open soft volume still ok la, if wan higher volume then lol

but this acer speaker really do suck IMO..
i used before compaq that have JBL speaker it sounds a whole lot better
even acer 4920's altec lansing (old model) is better Lol

but it write there DOLBY home theater so big.. Lol

that's juz a software to simulate dolby...

my Asus also ve 1... seriously, it's good only when u output to say amplifier... otherwise i think u re better off without it...

For Sound.I got 1 cd metallica ochestra DOLBY something(Original DVD).When i heard either Xp Or 7.Still The sound weird and slow.The best only head when wearing headphone or external speaker.Sometimes stereo more better then aucastic sound.Hard to said about sound.

update: seems like after fixing new dvd drive, and it is not working, would it be board issue?

nope.Either it was connection or dvd rom issue.There are two type of dvd i found,the pirate one are lighter weight cd while the original dvd quite heavy one.The pirate one easily unreadable/broken after a few times used.I hardly fine good one dvd one or cd for backup purpose.I rarely used dvd anymore.

just called up acer again, when opening the screen, it flickers for few times. Acer inform is LCD cable issue also informed them about the webcam not installed properly (facing downwards) . arranged for pickup. will update more info later..

DOLBY is the emulation or technology le .. just like in cinema u see it put THX but some cinemas speaker got burst sound lol ..

Last week i go the cinema.I see the GI.JOE stories.As i can said.The sound is fake and dam suck.....I rather hear from old speaker.For Transformer2 , i just wait for original DVD to comeout and wanted to test power with edifier speaker i bought.

A Few weeks ago , i go to one event showing the national army doing things at kuala terengganu...Snipering,bomb from mobile transport,shooting.To compare actual sound blasting and CINEMA audio(G.I Joe Cobra( is very uncompareable.If acer wanted to build a woofer inside just to hear head shot of first shooting game.I think the pricy is very dam heavy.Sometimes stereo better then woofer but it still depend on the situation.What i want from all laptop maker was is more watt to speaker laptop,i canot even here what the actor said(dolby or no dolby).

Have you try to get from the website or call Acer? Website there showing add RM98 to add on-site service. Subject to area within 50km radius. Addition charge RM1 per km. link

By the way do we still need to show receipt next time if we claim warranty? or they just track with the serial enough?

they track via serial number.
when i called up they only asked for my SN then arranged for pickup d.

yup, it's just based on ur serial number, just bring ur laptop and charger only

Btw, can you guys install nvidia mobile drivers? Not the one from acer website

yup, but it solved my problem, from x1 to x 16 link width...
i face a problem too, incompatible, then, i just choose it installed properly only..
