might be different batch..check the manufacturing date..(can be seen from sticker at bottom of laptop)
prevoiusly my unit manufactured june 09 using hynix ram.. then i exchanged another unit from dealer (july 09) coz got dead pixel, this unit is using samsung rams..lol
anyhow, check the bottom whether got the vista original sticker (pinkish in color) then can d. if still have doubt, juz called up microsft to verify the serial...

yup. if the serial is original shudnt be a problem.
open up the ram compartment at the back. u nid a screwdriver.

more complaints. bear with me.
acer's pickup guy called me on monday morning.
dem rudely ask me where is my place as he want to come now.
told him i'm in office and can only collect after 5, that guy damn rude hang up d phone.
called acer to complain. then the complain department called me back blablabla
end of the day still need me to arrange someone to pass the laptop that 'suites' the pickup guy time.
FINE. they took my laptop on tuesday coz unable to get it on monday.
then today (friday) called them up, they say still work in progress. (previously when i logged case they told me 3 days shud complete and send back dy). moreover, i told them not to fix the LCD issue as i fixed it with driver update d. only need them to adjust my webcam position and update my BIOS. that also need more than 3 days?!
ask the operator to ask the complain dept guy to call me again..more info later...

anyone know the SLA for acer warranty repair?
i only send in to update bios and adjust webcam.

they picked up my unit on 25/8 and until today (1/9) still no news :S

built quality so-so only
so far i've changed 2 unit due to dead pixel
but no doubt it is the cheapest with good spec..

Added on September 2, 2009, 8:52 ami asked them but they cannot reply. Lol
they do update bios. btw, my machine came with 1.06 bios. but i accidentally flash it with 1.05.
the acer website doesnt have 1.06 to download..so send it back + adjust my webcam

it is. they give 1.06 bios as stock and website only have up till 1.05. i asked them do they warrant it, they say yes.
even with 1.05 is fine la. just that im sending it to fix the webcam so ask them to update my bios since they're at it. else i wudnt bother also

yes. use powerstrip. but with cooling fan recommended
