How it works

Qualifying Rounds

- Every Saturday of the month, teams will be selected to play in the Preliminary stages against the Western Digital Team (Team Blackstorm) to try and qualify to participate in the Qualifying Rounds (as shown in the chart)
- In order to qualify for the Qualifying Rounds, there are three ways of doing so:
1. Defeat WD's team (only if the other team loses and is the fastest way to qualify)
2. If both teams defeat WD's team, the two teams will have to play against each other to determine who can
qualify for the qualifying rounds
3. If both teams lose to WD's team, the two teams will have to play against each other to determine who can
qualify for the qualifying rounds
- By the end of the month there should be a minimum of 4 teams playing in the Qualifying Rounds- Semi Final stage to try and become the Monthly Champion.
- Winners of the Monthly Tournament: 4 WD Caviar Black HDD & RM 200
- Runner ups of the Monthly Tournament: RM 200
- Qualifying rounds will last for two months until two champions (June & July) are decided.

Finale

- As the two Monthly champions (June & July), you will be granted the rights to play with the WD Team Blackstorm for an extra RM 1000.
- In order to challenge Team Blackstorm, both Monthly Champions will be required to play a final match to determine who will be the Champions of Champions before being given the rights to play with Team Blackstorm
- At the end the Champions of Champions will play against Team Blackstorm in a final match to win an extra RM 1000 and to also claim bragging rights.

Rules

- Bypassing Crescendos is illegal
- Subtitles are not allowed
- Map exploits is illegal if it’s not made for the original intent of the game or mapmaker.
- Blocking the path of a survivor is legal, unless it prevents them for advancing in the game then it is illegal
- Using any cheats, exploits or hacks not made for the original intent of the game is illegal and might result in immediate disqualification depending on the situation.
- Ghosting is not allowed
- The organizers reserves the rights to change or modify this section at any time

Regulations

- All matches will be played by and according to the official published tournament schedule
- Teams are required to be fully present 15 minutes before scheduled match to check in with the organizers and to set their settings and configurations.
- Teams with a minimum of 3 players are allowed to play but AI will be removed
- Teams are required to send in all 4 players registration forms at one go to avoid confusion or any inconveniences
- Your team is only allowed to use players who have registered for the tournament.
- Registration will be ongoing until the last week of the tournament. Teams will be randomly picked and there will be at least a minimum of 16 teams allowed for this two month long tournament.
- No in-game spectators other than those authorized by the tournament committee are allowed in the matches.
- Abusing of chat function will be punished according to the level of abuse.
- Teams that have lost will be allowed to reapply and play again, however priority will be given to the newer teams, Champions are not allowed to reapply.

11th July (Saturday)- Qualifying (DONE- Team APC goes through to the Tournament!)
18th July (Saturday)- Qualifying (DONE- Team MZT goes through to the Tournament!)
1st August (Saturday)- Qualifying (DONE- Team PE2 goes through to the Tournament!)
2nd August (Sunday) - Monthly Tournament for The July Champion (DONE- TEAM APC ARE THE JULY CHAMPIONS!)

9th August (Sunday- 1pm- Team Recognize vs Team APC!!!)- Final match for the RM1000

If you can one hit KO a smoker by dragging him down a cliff, fair enough, i can allow that, invisibles walls were not made by the game developers so its shouldn't be used.

Basically i just want to have as little rules as possible to make it more fun, its up to the gamers pride and honor to respect the rules by not doing anything that you yourself would find unfair also.

1. Illegal spots- This should up to the discretion of the players, if you want to camp at vents, by all means, but if the other team does it also, you don't get to complain.

2. Skipping crescendos- anything that does not follow the natural game of play is illegal

Basically it will be up to the referee's discretion on what is illegal, if you have any exploits or things that you believe are illegal and should be included, do let me know and i'll see whether it's allowed or not.

Is this fair enough? I'm open to any comments or suggestions, i just want this as fun as possible for everyone.

i agree with these rules and regulations, vents i think should not be banned because it is actually part of the developers map and is NOT to be considered a bug. the enviroment is there for you to make use and it only depends on how creative you are in using it, But yes if you use the vents then dont complain if the other team uses the vents too :B. and Demonas from team..?

Hey, you guys mentioned using objects to block the survivors path is illegal. But if I'm not mistaken, in the new version, all movable objects will disappear after a certain amount of time (not sure how long though, maybe 30 seconds).

If that's the case, then I think that blocking path with objects should be fair, as good teams would know how to maneuver themselves on the map so as to not get stuck in an area without an exit, should a tank start hurling objects at them. In any case, it adds more fun to game play.

What do you guys think? Just my 2 cents.

are we allowed to have subs ? since its like a 2 month long thing, and a player might not be able to make it for one of the weekends

A team only has to play for one weekend to see if they can qualify for the monthly tournaments that will be held on the sunday of the last month.

So basically you guys can try and play this week, and if you guys manage to qualify, you'll be eligible to play in the Monthly tournament at the end of this week.

Once you're in the monthly tournament, you stand a chance to win RM200 + 4 WD HDD.

Once you're the monthly champion, you just got to wait until the next monthly champion is decided before the final showdown.

So basically most teams would only have to play two to three days maximum

As for maps, it'll be decided through a lucky draw, the opposing team will have the opportunity to pick which map they'll be playing with against the WD Team.

Think of it like the EPL It's a league, just a very short one that requires you to play a few times and win big

hmm subs are allowed but usually only once as they have been subbed they will have to be replaced for the whole match. Unless since like you said, you have a player that works 7 days a week, so if you let me know beforehand than i will allow you to sub more than once.

Sorry to bring this up again, but what if as a tank, I accidentally block a survivor's path. Some objects are hard to control (maybe I'm just noob or whatever, but still...). Does the match automatically forfeits? Or is it up to marshal's discretion?

And how do you lock a person for eternity in a building if you don't recharge your rage meter by hitting a survivor? Is there another way?

@AndyLim88: Okay if you accidentally block a survivor's path, we will restart that round, of course if it's done on purpose then there might be penalties, it will be up to the marshal's discretion- hope this answers your question

i agree with u. If so many rules, there wont be any fun beside, not all know these thing as well, everyone just like, GET HIM, GET THE APEK, u know wat i mean? Eg: that smoker 1 hit KO part, some jsut find a suitable place then spawn then drag survivor, he might not know that place will be 1 hit KO. If so many rules, the refree @.@ . Tank will hit anything in order to bring survivor down, in this case, he/she might not track the thing that tank hit, block path or so.

Latest news on the Black Storm

Death count: 3 teams
Survivors: 1 team

20th June Recap: Team Recognize was the first match of the day and they managed to defeat Team Black Storm, i believed it was a closely fought match but in the end Team Recognized prevailed and became the first team to win on the day.

As for the other three teams, Team L2K, BobChang and M2T were unfortunately defeated by Team Black Storm. But in the end after having the losing teams fight one another, Team M2T secured another chance to move into the Tournament.

Congrats to Team Recognize! & Team M2T for qualifying into the qualifying rounds for the June Tournament! Look out for more updates!

Added on June 27, 2009, 9:46 pmThe final qualifying matches of the month was played today, the storm came and went through!

The first session was supposed to be between Team KrixxKroxx and MW2, unfortunately Team KrixxKroxx had a no show and no call, as a result MW2 automatically entered the quarter finals of the tournament.

The second session was Team APC & Team WM, both who had managed to defeat Team BlackStorm, however in the end both teams had to fight it out to earn qualifying rights, the stronger team prevailed and Team WM won and entered the quarter finals of the tournament.

As the matches ended earlier than expected, Team WM and Team MW2 played against each other earlier to see who will get the final semi-final spot and stand a chance to play with Team Recognize in the finals tomorrow for the 4 Caviar Black HDD & RM200,

In the end, it seems like Team WM prevailed yet again, and breezed into the semi-finals. Thus the finals of the June tournament stands to look like this:

Team Recognze Vs Team WM

The finals will be played tomorrow at 9am at Blitzone, come and watch!

the structure of this tourney seems so messy. how do u determine who plays against team blackstorm. seems like mw2 had a free ride to quarter finals. while teams wm & apc both had to play blackstorm & then each other.

i guess it doesn't really matter since there's no prize for 2nd/3rd this weekly "qualifier". another thing, i think you should make it so that the 1st team from week 1 plays the 2nd team from week 2 and vice versa.

also, it seems you are running a valve game tourney using a "lan-patched" version without steam (legal? e-club owns the rights to the games in SEA). but what if an important update is made, but there isn't a "lan-patched" version of it out yet. probably doesn't really affect the game when it doesn't get updated much. since valve is too busy with l4d2..

Decisions on who plays who is based on first come first serve basis, if you come first you play first, you can't exactly say MW2 had a free ride, in the end they still have to play with the other team to qualify.

Everyone walks out of the competition as a winner and free goodies.

On another note, two teams for the 1st week of qualifying in July has been chosen!

The 1st qualifiers for the month of July has ended!

Before i begin, let me just state that we have added a new rule as this was by popular request from a lot of teams. Teams that have lost or basically teams that did not end up being the champion of the month will be allowed to rejoin and reapply, but of course priority will be given first to newer teams.

But anyway!

Today we saw two teams- Team Lapsap & Team L2K (again as they had reapplied) face off Team Blackstorm!

In the end Team Blackstorm defeated both teams and they had to play against one another to qualify.

It was an amazingly close match between Team Lapsap & Team L2K but in the end Team Lapsap prevailed and became the first team to make it into the July Tournament!

Congratulations Team Lapsap!!!

Please keep the personal arguments away please. This thread is for updates AND any constructive feedback(I allow these). No need to get personal over some suggestions or queries.

Those week's challengers were Team PE2 & Team APC (who rejoined again) and this time round it was a one win one loss for Team Blackstorm as they were defeated by Team APC in a very close match. However it wasn't all bad for Team Blackstorm as they managed to defeat Team PE2, with that Team APC was granted the rights into the quarter finals for the month of July!

The finals of July are done! Just a quick update, Team PE2 & Team 53X were the teams that played on Saturday for the final qualifying spot for the tournament, both teams were defeated by Team Blackstorm and had to fight one another to qualify. In the end Team PE2 were victorious and won the rights into the July tournament.

The July tournament happened today (2nd August 09) and it saw Team APC vs Team MZT & Team PE2 vs Team LapSap. In the end, Team APC & Team PE2 defeated their respective teams and entered into the finals to fight each other to be the July champion. After a closely contested battle where both teams were unwilling to yield in. In the end Team APC rose out victorious and became the July champions.

CONGRATULAIONS TEAM APC!!!

Team APC & Team Recognize will now face off in the Champions of Champions match to see who is the ultimate champion!

It will be happening on Sunday, 9th August 2009! Be there!!!

In that case, i think we might make it early to avoid clashing between both tournaments. I will call both teams tomorrow to confirm but it should most likely be at 9am. So get some good sleep the night before
