I hope the camera image quality will be better. The E71 had serious problem with color.

No, theyre not the first. Samsung i780 has an optical trackpad.

THe experience is much better than a trackball, if you ask me.

Have u used those old IBM notebooks with a mouse stick in the middle of the keyboard? Yeah its pretty much like that but much more accurate.

i'm not sure what is the colour will be first release to malaysia market, just like the E52, until now still only the metal grey only..
e72 got three colour = Zodium Black, Metal Grey, Topaz Brown..

still drooling at the e71... Lol.. Much elegant as compare to 72 .. But the zodium black and silver may attract me a bit...

IMHO the optical keypad is kinda useless if not annoying, you make a lot of mistakes while using the Dpads with optical keypad activated.  I heard it's being sold for RM1900.
