Good Day everyone, The Science Centre & Omni-Theatre located at Singapore Boon Lay Way is a fun place for children to learn. I must visit that place on each holiday trips to Singapore while I was young. But despite the increasing entrance fee, I insist that it's still a very good place to learn. The Da Vinci exhibition had just started. Here is a link to the Science Centre website for your reference: http://www.science.edu.sg/ssc/index.jsp
Omni-Theatre Come share your experince & thoughts about this interesting centre. Regards, Liew. This post has been edited by ah liew: Jun 20 2009, 09:52 PM

They got built in some new stuff. Like the aquarium before you enter. But the government should really spend some money so that our science center is on par with the singapores one.

Otherwise don't even build it at all. It's like our Zoo Negara, animals are not well fed & all look unhappy. http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=...74433&sec=focus

I don't think the future generation would want to visit the zoo more than once. Our tourism ministries seems more interested in selling the idea that Malaysia is rich in culture and shopping malls. Singapore government actually make the science center into a tourist attraction. City state like Singapore have different approach to these matters compared to Malaysia. Malaysia's science center is actually not bad, but malaysians seems more interested in PKR vs BN and rempit around rather than educational matters like science

It's a next step to the future & there are always pro & cons. But S'pore govenrment still encourages & maintains their Zoos, Bird Parks & other attractions despite of their level in digital age way further ahead of M'sia. I think there is still a way to show our future generations the quality of cultures rather surfing the website.

Governing a city state is totally different compared to Malaysia. For one they don't need multiple bird park or zoo unlike Malaysia in which each state's capital is far apart and such. Tourism ministry plays a role as well, in Malaysia we're not putting heavy emphasis on our Zoo, Science center etc as tourist attraction because our 'attraction' are tourist places like eco park, KL's shopping, penang food. Singapore on the other hand has less of what we have, and so their approach in attracting tourist focus differently. I am not saying there's no room for improvement but it's not up to me to do any of these. Minister's business

I've been to the Singapore Science Center a few years ago. I found it very fascinating. They had a special room with a huge screen and the seats will move according to the video that is played. If i'm not mistaken, the video was about Serengeti. Very good experience

It will take years for malaysia sains senta to be mature enough on how to think broadly then narrowing their vision.
It isnt because malaysian are more attracted to the recent rempit and political issues rather then educational values.
It's more mainly because when malaysia started some tourist attraction, it's boring, expensive and worst of all it's too late.
Malaysia's marketing view is totally like china but worst thing of all it doesnt even preserve the core values or objectives what they actually providing for.
At least in China due to high competition, they still spend the least effort rather then none to preserve the value of their product.
In Malaysia is usually about lets talk about money first. It doesnt matter what kind of crap comes out and if it doesnt attract much attention, it will juz be dismantle like how kids build lego and demolish it after they are bored with their result.
There's a few exception that will keep it retained. It's either because it's the only thing that they should have rather then be ashamed that malaysia doesnt have anything interesting at all. Or for the past years, they spend tonnes of method to mislead consumers into buying their products with their marketing cheat scheme.
Well at least even for a strict country like singapore, i still can catch sight on a cockatoo swearing in hokkien in Jurong Bird Park. Now that's some spectacular sight.

Yea, 1 day is definetely not sufficient.
