I bought mine from Smart Choice E. Cant recall the arcade price, but Pro was somewhere around 1300, lower now maybe?

New Arcade Jasper MOBO unit will have internal 512mb memory unit. It is also using new Lite-On DVD drive model. 1st batch manufacturing is April 9th 2009. Take note on this before buying new Jasper unit.

i think it does, thats why Microsoft made it. So people can wait for them to get enough cash for a HD.

from the pics i have seen from way back when the arcade was first released and since then, the Arcade model always had the grill covering the Hard disk area so it would like a flat surface, but i still think it can accept a hard drive.

Confirmed all Xbox 360 have slot for HDD including Arcade set. It located same place as on Pro set. If you buying Arcade, that spot is covered with plastic grill & easy to remove if decided to buy HDD later.

New Jasper Motherboard with 512MB internal MU

QUOTE
>> Braza posted pictures of a new jasper motherboard with a 4gbit Samsung NAND inside on the XBH forums. This found has been confirmed by some of our forum members as well.
This Xbox360 is a Japanese Arcade SKU made on april 9th 2009.
The motherboard still seems like a Jasper-model, only real change seems to be the NAND. The extra space is all used to give you a larger internal memory unit. The original Aracde Jasper has a 2gbit NAND and gave users an ~214MBytes of usable internal memory as around 16MB is used by Microsoft for kernel/keyvault/dash etc. So we guess the new one should give you ~496Mbytes of usable internal MU.

Hmm...something not right about my jasper arcade. It suppose to show 214 usable Internal MU but instead it show 312mb usable. The motherboard come with 256MB internal memory. Got it from Nelson the few days ago. 100% waranty it's not 512mb motherboard. Wierd... >.<

You may wanna check what is stored in yur memory. The NXE interface related stuff & file system management will also eat up some amount of memory.
