maldini to chelsea??
i would welcome the great legend..
but a great does not mean a great coach..
but i think he will be a good addition to our backroom staff..
hope he will be our assistant manager.. i dont really like wilkins..
chelsea sure miss steve clarke.. he is really good..
*
Please be specific about disliking Wilkins. I am sure that the others true blues would love to know as well.

we have more chance of getting Aguero than Pato..
i want both of them badly.. get both of them and i will be very happy and satisfied if we cant get anyone else this summer..
*
Where do you get the idea of chance to land on Aguero is easier?

It's time for squad numbers speculation.

Daniel to take his own number in City, 18. Ross is taking 22. biggrin.gif

Zhirkov could take 18 too. That's his number at CSKA Moscow and Russia.

Interesting. That depends on who will be presented first, I guess. tongue.gif

I would have Zhirkov 18, Turnbull 22/23 and Sturridge 23/28.  I'm pretty sure Zhirkov asked about the 18, seeing that his number has always been that for Russia and CSKA, as plokoon pointed out.
*
That makes sense.

Zhirkov 18, Turnbull 22, and Sturridge 28 then. tongue.gif

Looks like Zhirkov is set for 18 now, with Ross 22 and Daniel 23. biggrin.gif

JT is my current favourite player. I will be devastated if he does leave us. He is not only the symbol of Chelsea but a true leader for us as well. It is understandable that salary is very much the most discussed issue between the players in England with the implemented tax. However, I hope that Chelsea is bigger than money for JT.

For JT to stay is better than securing a gigantic signature. Great news indeed.

Let's move on. Come on, Chels!

What a comeback.. like what CA said, we believed!

I personally think we struggle a bit with diamond because of the pace and width from the other teams. We are playing a bit narrower than before, though both flanks are covered by our full-backs. However, I still think that CA should think of plan B with 4-4-2 or 4-3-3/4-5-1 formations.

With Zhirkov, Malouda, Joey and Kalou in our squad, we should be able to produce more plays at the flanks.

Be that as it may, it is only the first game of the league. In CA, we believe! Come on, Chels! rclxm9.gif

Great game. 3 points! biggrin.gif

Personally, I think that Ballack was great in this match. He had a few good runs and basically, he's running all around the pitch.

One more thing, did we resize the pitch?

Premier League bring in home grown quotas (soccernet)

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

OMG another bad news, together with the ban its gonna hit us harder now. 25 player max (8 must be homegrown)  sweat.gif and it start next season rclxub.gif. BUT..... WE WILL SURVIVE  icon_rolleyes.gif  thumbup.gif

1 Petr Cech
2 Branislav Ivanovic
3 Ashley Cole (HG)
5 Michael Essien
6 Ricardo Carvalho
8 Frank Lampard (HG)
10 Joe Cole
11 Didier Drogba
12 Mikel
13 Michael Ballack
15 Florent Malouda
17 Jose Bosingwa
18 Yury Zhirkov
19 Paulo Ferreira
20 Deco
21 Salomon Kalou
22 Ross Turnbull
23 Daniel Sturridge (he should be HG)
24 Nemanja Matic
26 John Terry (HG)
33 Alex
35 Juliano Belletti
39 Nicolas Anelka
40 Henrique Hilario

We have 24 first team player now, 4 existing HOMEGROWN player, left 4 to fill. We do have some amazing youngster but to be qualified for HG status they need to with any ENGLISH/WALES club for at least 3 season before age 21 so some of our talent may not qualified yet. We also need to axed 3 player from our existing squad for next season. Suspecting it will be HILARIO, BELLETTI, FERREIRA.

So, Joey is Italian? Malaysian? What about Turnbull? rolleyes.gif

That's 6 in the first team, no?

Looks like Anelka is qualified as well. But I am not quite sure regarding that.
