John Mikel Obi has followed Florent Malouda in signing a new contract with the club.

The 22-year-old midfielder has committed his future to Chelsea by signing a new five-year deal which runs until 2014.

i prefer soloman kalou rather than J O Mikel. but then i believe it's better than nothing. anyway, after watching the match against inter, it seems that we got the full squad with good players and didn't know drogba can scored like that. i tot he wanted to pass

kalou is much more inconsistent compared to mikel. sometimes he performs and sometimes he does not. mikel on the other hand took over essien's place when essien was injured last season. did a pretty good job too. so mikel signing a new 5 year deal with us is superb news.

and another good news. CA succeed on luring drogba back into our squad. he agreed on current terms and details on how many years of extensions i believed will be revealed another time soon or at least after the america tour

well, i wouldnt say im too happy about that. we have to face the facts that drogs is getting older by the day. unless he can keep his fitness and sharpness level high, giving him a long contract wouldnt be wise for the club.

well rather than having an unclear news on the new signings, with sheva and mr anelka alongside him. i guess it should be good and u may realized one thing u should know about CA, he likes experience and reliable players. during his time at san siro, he admired drogba and nearly lure him there, but then ... anyway the thing that we must think right now is about the JT saga. he's our captain

for mikel i think it will be superb...cuz sometime Essien may switch to RB..and Mikel can support DM...

as for Drogba i think he still sharp for another 2 years...no problem. anyway who else can score like him in the EPL...?..

Kalou is a forward / make shift Winger while J O Mikel is a central midfielder . You can't compare them as they have totally different roles to play

hopefully what you say is right. i too hope drogba can continue to score goals for us. hmmm. deco seems to have improved his game. dont know how long will that last though, he did start pretty well early of last season but his performance dropped after a few games.

give our current players chances that they want. give them time to play. as for me, i still have faith in Sheva even if everybody he's lousy and lazy player. for me, time is the main part of developing good performance rather than go out there dribbling and tackling like mad

i thought our best signing was will ferrel.
just watched the last half hour of milan vs club america. seeing inzaghi score a brilliant goal after a good assist from flamini, its hard to believe he's going to be THIRTY SIX this year. so in that sense, drogba extending his stay here is a good decision provided he's willing to make way for the youngsters when the time comes. milan lost 2-1 btw. so we currently lead the tournament? haha good point on deco looking good in last year's pre-season as well. having said that i'd rather we keep him than move for pirlo.

Sheva wont bring too much difference IMHO ... I never liked him playing for Chelsea... but i do hope he'll change this year

more likely if chelsea want to sign a young striker it will be Pato rather than Aguero...

Deco for me stay to be the next Pirlo..he play 2 good game..

As for Pizarro...He is a great player...but his heart no longer blue for me..

but..Sheva...for me give him time...
