which one is better....Xtreamer or PlayOn!HD?

I think USB 2.0 should be fast enough even for the highest bitrate movies.

Does it shutter when playing thru USB HDD?

You mean the Xtreamer still shutter when playing the scene is flock of birds flying in planet earth 1080p? that means there is no point for me to upgrade from my WDTV. So far my WDTV plays most 1080P mkv without much problem except those with many tiny objects or thing moving at once like the scene is flock of birds flying in planet earth 1080p.

If I am not wrong, I think the WDTV Live is the better performer then the Xtreamer as it utilise the latest 500mhz chip and it can play the high reframe h264 mkv which the realtek chip cannot play. It also have less heat. I can play fullhd 1080P for hours and the WDTV Live is only slightly warm. Its much cheaper too.

Low res chinese drama rmvb is not exactly the type of material to push your Xtreamer. Try high bit rate mkv and see if it will start panting.

That is good to know. But I still prefer the WDTV Live because it can play the high reframe mkv. I read that the POHD, ACRyan, and Xtreamer still cannot play high reframe mkv.

Those higher than 4 reframe and you do get them once in a while. Sometimes if you download like 10GB and realize later the image breakups, then you have to redownload again. But WDTV Live can just play it.

At least he don't hijack people's WIFE!!!

Just need a few questions answer....

1. Can Xtreamer auto switch to 1080P/24 automatically and does it play smooth?

2. Is the fan speed auto and is it very noisy?

3. Any heat issue resulting in playback problem?

4. This one can playback RMVB right?

5. Can it passthru Dolby True HD and DTS MAster?

6. Can support BD ISO?

For quastion number 5, when you say downmix Dolby True HD and DTS MAster, is it to stereo only or can downmix to 5.1?

For question 6, can play BDISO with full menu or have to play the biggest filesize m2ts?

One last question, can the USB wireless N adapter be use on other hardware like PC or laptop, or its solely for use with Xtreamer only?

Nothing wrong with the file. It is the problem with realtek chipset. It cannot play mkv with high reframe rates as higher reframe rates requires more processing power which the Xtremer relatek chip just cannot play it. Anything hgher than 4 reframe will experience screen tearing. You will encounter more movies with screen tearing due to this high reframe rates.

That is why the WDTV Live sigma chipset is better as it can play all these high reframe rates mkv without any problem, except it cannot play rmvb. So its between rmvb or mkv you have to choose between realtek and sigma. For me i choose sigma as rmvb are low quality with I don't bother to watch.

Well...i am refering to extremer, not the pro. Of course newer chipset can play almost all mkv.
