QUOTE(yangz @ Sep 7 2009, 04:08 PM) thanks for quick reply but usb 2.0 got it's transfer rate limitation which i think will causes stuttering if i play high definition movie like bluray and never do well when u want to fast forwarding or skip to the middle of a movie. i know xtreamer itself support internal sata...but i just want to know is that possible to get it work with esata, so that i can save my cost to get a larger capacity 3.5inch ext-HD rather than a same price but half of the capacity. I think USB 2.0 should be fast enough even for the highest bitrate movies. |

QUOTE(pierreye @ Sep 20 2009, 10:25 PM) Just upgraded to 1.0.3. Still stutter when play high bitrate mkv and m2ts from network. Anyway, there is some improvement in movie playback. Now wait for ver 2.0 firmware which promise improve network throughput and finally High Def Audio bitstream. I'm using NFS by the way with Jumbo Frame enable. Does it shutter when playing thru USB HDD? |

QUOTE(pierreye @ Sep 21 2009, 01:49 PM) Better through USB hdd but some complex scene still stutter. One of the scene is flock of birds flying in planet earth 1080p. You mean the Xtreamer still shutter when playing the scene is flock of birds flying in planet earth 1080p? that means there is no point for me to upgrade from my WDTV. So far my WDTV plays most 1080P mkv without much problem except those with many tiny objects or thing moving at once like the scene is flock of birds flying in planet earth 1080p.This post has been edited by lightning69: Sep 21 2009, 09:39 PM |

QUOTE(rotiplanta @ Dec 10 2009, 07:37 PM) Last week I saw Xtreamer selling at Redcom Ipoh... thinking to buy it...How is this player performing? If I am not wrong, I think the WDTV Live is the better performer then the Xtreamer as it utilise the latest 500mhz chip and it can play the high reframe h264 mkv which the realtek chip cannot play. It also have less heat. I can play fullhd 1080P for hours and the WDTV Live is only slightly warm. Its much cheaper too. |

QUOTE(hdwarexpert @ Dec 11 2009, 11:31 AM) In terms of RMVB files, WDTV Live is already out of buyers selection list. In my opinion, WDTV Live is not a total media solution. Low res chinese drama rmvb is not exactly the type of material to push your Xtreamer. Try high bit rate mkv and see if it will start panting. In terms of heat, Xtreamer also do not have any overheat issues so far...my mum watch her favourite drama up to ten episodes a day also no problem. For pricing, compare against the total package given and decide which one is more value for money. |

QUOTE(ar188 @ Dec 11 2009, 12:12 PM) seriously it doesn't even break a sweat.. on BD-iso (that's the max bit rate you can possibly try) at least the two 1073 units I tested... (both cheapo no brand ones) That is good to know. But I still prefer the WDTV Live because it can play the high reframe mkv. I read that the POHD, ACRyan, and Xtreamer still cannot play high reframe mkv. |

QUOTE(hdwarexpert @ Dec 11 2009, 12:48 PM) How many reframes are you refer to? So far in my 1.5TB MKVs, i have no problem. So i dont think they are mass of high reframes mkv available. Those higher than 4 reframe and you do get them once in a while. Sometimes if you download like 10GB and realize later the image breakups, then you have to redownload again. But WDTV Live can just play it. |

At RM499 with Wireless N antenna is a good price.
Just need a few questions answer.... 1. Can Xtreamer auto switch to 1080P/24 automatically and does it play smooth? 2. Is the fan speed auto and is it very noisy? 3. Any heat issue resulting in playback problem? 4. This one can playback RMVB right? 5. Can it passthru Dolby True HD and DTS MAster? 6. Can support BD ISO? |

QUOTE(hdwarexpert @ Apr 7 2010, 10:36 AM) Just need a few questions answer.... Thanks for your answer.1. Can Xtreamer auto switch to 1080P/24 automatically and does it play smooth? THere is a mode for you to select it. Not sure of autoswitch. 2. Is the fan speed auto and is it very noisy? Not noisy. You can control the fan speed. 3. Any heat issue resulting in playback problem? No heat issue, please also check with other owners. 4. This one can playback RMVB right? RMVB 720p playback is damn smooth. 5. Can it passthru Dolby True HD and DTS MAster? Only downmix. No passthru. 6. Can support BD ISO? Can play BDISO. Can some one confirm quastion 1? For quastion number 5, when you say downmix Dolby True HD and DTS MAster, is it to stereo only or can downmix to 5.1? For question 6, can play BDISO with full menu or have to play the biggest filesize m2ts? One last question, can the USB wireless N adapter be use on other hardware like PC or laptop, or its solely for use with Xtreamer only? |

QUOTE(aria_xiii @ Nov 12 2010, 11:39 AM) hi all.. do you guys have problems when playing 'Transformers.2007.1080p.BluRay.DTS.x264-ESiR'?? I experienced a lot of screen tearing. Nothing wrong with the file. It is the problem with realtek chipset. It cannot play mkv with high reframe rates as higher reframe rates requires more processing power which the Xtremer relatek chip just cannot play it. Anything hgher than 4 reframe will experience screen tearing. You will encounter more movies with screen tearing due to this high reframe rates. That is why the WDTV Live sigma chipset is better as it can play all these high reframe rates mkv without any problem, except it cannot play rmvb. So its between rmvb or mkv you have to choose between realtek and sigma. For me i choose sigma as rmvb are low quality with I don't bother to watch. |

QUOTE(soulquarianz @ Nov 13 2010, 08:25 AM) what player do you have newer version or early generation? i have no problem playing this file in xtreamer pro or any newer realtek chipset. the old one yes, theres a pixellation. Well...i am refering to extremer, not the pro. Of course newer chipset can play almost all mkv.Added on November 13, 2010, 8:31 am i have not seen any problem with my pro. i got quiet amount of movie with high frame rate (my 12tb collection is mainly 90% mkv) and no issue playing it. perhaps you need to find a better group rip. |
