wah 35GB MKV? better go for the m2ts lor...

One of my friends gave it to me to test..... he thought Xtreamer cannot handle it coz his existing players stutter.

To his shock, no problem at all on my small Xtreamer.

Did u play the whole movie?

Just now used it to watch HP5
it stuttered at few scenes of the movie
and the audio is synced initially, but slowly went out of sync after few minutes
the longer it played the worst it was out of sync
pressed stop and resumed playback
the same cycle happened again
I forgot how many times I'd pressed stop and resumed playback throughout the whole movie  doh.gif
*
I did not play until the end. But play it quite long, no problem on audio and picture.

For your case, maybe you can double check it using your computer or other media player to play it. Sometimes it may due to the file itself.

I have some .mp4 files that has this problem of audio out of sync after some stuttering. But i confirm it by playing on my PC and also the same thing happen. badly produced. sad.gif

I really hate to say this but I think as a bystander, we might want to admit that this thread is getting really really commercial.  It is supposed to let us share the user experience and exchange useful info and tips.  But what I can see is:
My Xtreamer can play this file but XXXX cannot play...

Firstly I would think it is not a good way (by putting down other products) to promote your product.  Secondly, when people say "well My extreamer cannot play this file ... why... And the answer we see is that " the file is very badly produced" ... what is this man... also, WDTV is HDMI1.2, not 1.3 as of the xtreamer - they are different level and WDTV has advanced to WDTV live (and a stripped down version of WDTV - while don't have network feature, it could downmix DTS and support deep color)

Those who are interested in Xtreamer (or buying any other media player) should really consider the below (but not limited to) :
1.  Whether you can tahan noise produced by a player (some come with Fan, some don't)
2. Whether you need a player to play both HD material and RMVB
3. Whether you prefer external hdd over internal

Qs to avoid are:
1. will the movie stutter when played by this player - this q is not useful because people can always find a file which a particular player cannot play smoothly.
2... for others to add....

It seems you like to put alot of restriction on how people like to write on forum.

But as far I can see, not many forumer will like the thing you wrote. If you have any comment on any media player, we surely welcome you to share it the way you like. Not teaching student to write essay here on how to express our point of view.

Forum is used to share information. Lowyat.net also has sales thread, so what is the commercial all about?? Any problem? Sharing with forumer about market info is classified as commercial? can your life escaped from 'commercial'?

Put your thought on it before posting such comments. You are smart, but i dun think others are stupid.

still retaining WDTV first gen., a very decent player and both its PQ and AQ is terrific (btw this player can still fetch >200 ah? I actually thought of letting it go at below that price tag...heng ah..have not committed yet  laugh.gif ).  Now using WDTV Live.  Concurrently running HDX too, great build with internal HDD, 1 T already full but have no intention to load new ones as I find it too troublesome, occassionally connect to external to enjoy, although can use FTP to transfer file but way too slow.  BTW, its audio is bitstream (raw output) for TrueHD and MasterAudio. But have not tried and seen if it can handle BDISO but no problem with DVDISO (just happened that I have got one so might try this during this long weekend). have let go of Playon and Xtreamer to friends at a very good price (judging by my market sense on wdtv you can tell how much I sold them for...).  What I like about Xtreamer is its form factor.  PlayOn is another good player with great funcionality - but somehow I prefer the PQ from Sigma chipset - can't explain either, just that it won't tire my eyes even after wathing 2 files consecutively.
*
You eyes tired or not is not because only watch 2 movies from sigma chipset or realtek chipset..... it is because whether you have enough rest earlier or the movie is boring or interesting.

This kind of comparison is totally zzzzz.... shocking.gif doh.gif rclxub.gif

If i lie down at sofa and watch movie, i will sleep in minutes later no matter WDTV or Xtreamer or DVD player, and no matter how interesting or boring the movie.

can the Xtreamer work without the 2.5" hdd ?
*
Why not? But you need to have at least a hard disk for it to work, either internal, external or fron network PC... or all of it together with eTRAYz.

Meaning you can access your media files all sorts of way. thumbup.gif

Yes, it will work even though you don't install an internal HDD.

I will bring in eTRAYz, will reach around mid Dec if everything is going smoothly. Interested?? thumbup.gif

Guys,

I have a problem while playing the animation movie MADAGASCAR (mkv, 1080P). It jitters all through out the movie (green and white spots coming out of the picture). Anyone of you have gone through this problem?

FYI, the file is not corrupted because I've tried playing through PC and the PQ is excellent.

Oh ya, not only the picture, the sound also jittering.

(Settings on xtreamer: HDMI cable, 1080P 60HZ)
*
Will changing 1080p 60Hz to 720p 60Hz solve your issue??

Xtreamer selling in PC Fair Hall 3 (or is it 4??) at RM699...

Same booth selling Touchster HDD Dock (Vantech dock lookalike) for RM99....

Best part, AC Ryan PlayON selling next booth at RM619....
*
Seems not much offer for AC Ryan.

Batu Pahat & Penang PC Fair offer for Xtreamer at RM599, same price like my offer. smile.gif

Much better than KL PC Fair offer price.
