Anyone here know what I can do to improve the file transfer speed of XTP?
Currently file transfer from PC to XTP via windows explorer is at 25-30KB/s and if using FTP (filezilla) it shows 1.5MB/s. That is painfully slow!

My setup is XTP connected to network using Wifi, router is Belkin Surf (modem router N)

Same file transfer speed to my HTC Desire shows faster speed.

Xtreamer network performance is really so so only, sometimes I called it suck! it even cannot stream high bit rate bluray movies. the throughput last time I tested for FTP is around 30Mbps. so if you want to use network transfer for full hd movie, it takes few hours for a movie.

The solution if you don't want to use portable HDD is setting up a Network File Server. I used OpenSolaris ZFS file system as NFS server, and its performance is much better than xtreamer. once I uploaded full HD movies to my NFS server, my xtreamer and PC can watch movies streaming from my NFS, though sometimes xtreamer still unable to watch high bit rate bluray movies due to it poor network performance.

hi guys

I'm a newbie on homemedia systems.. Today i just checked out a shop with both Xtreamer and HDX-Bone. But unfortunately when the salesman tried to plug it in, both didn't work.

Both didn't have internal HDD then, and both were right out of the box.
Xtreamer - showed only the logo then TV complained no signal
HDX-Bone, didn't even show anything, tv just complained no signal.

The sales guy tried diff TVs but all showing the same thing. Is there some sort of installation / setup process for Xtreamer?

Also, comparing Xtreamer vs HDX-Bone, which one is better?
all my movie files are on my HD (MKV or WMV or AVI). I have no blueray disk, probably won't have for a long time.

Biggest MKV file is avatar at 1080p which is about 22gb i think..
