Orochi's design is awesome. So nice the looks. The upcoming sphex looks nice but i tried the available one during pc fair. It is too thin, doesn't feel nice to use for long hours. Therefore, i bought destructor! It is better so smooth that i took 2 days to get used to my new sens.

Razer Destructor Special Edition-White (Razer Fractal™ technology)

Razer GoliathusTM Control-Alpha (Big Cloth Mat best for Strategy games)
Razer GoliathusTM Control-Standard (Medium Cloth Mat best for Strategy games)
Razer GoliathusTM Control-Omega (Small Cloth Mat best for Strategy games)
Everglide Gaming Mat™ (Medium Size Cloth Mat best for All Games)

Do you prefer cloth or hard surface?

If hard surface, go for Destructor! Awesome mousepad i must say.
If cloth pad maybe u would like to try Goliathus. Since u are FPS gamer, u will prefer speed edition more. Control is more for strategy games like wc3. Since u included Everglide here, and i am a previous user of Everglide Titan DKT gaming mat, i would say, bang for bucks. RM70 served me for 2 years. Quality not bad, not impressive thou.

QUOTE(low yat 82 @ Aug 10 2009, 08:53 PM)
think i buy d soft 1 n see see smile.gif

so for fps , u guys recommend speed or control?
*
Okie let me make it clear once again lol.

CONTROL has rougher surface. It is not suitable for FPS games becuz in FPS games u need to drag/swipe which means, u need SPEED. The rough surface gives friction to your wrist which means decrease in speed and unstable drag shots.

Urm, u need to audition and use both of them for some period of time to get my meaning. I am a old skool FPS game player and still fragging biggrin.gif Now playing CS:Source. U leh. Playing what FPS game?

QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 11 2009, 12:24 AM)
what friction to the wrist is there if you are a palm user?

also for hard mats like exactmat, the control side actually glides better...there are others who also feel the same.

imo, there is no need for manufacturers to release a control surface...just one would do...but then sales would stagnate and the company would go bankrupt...so of cos they have to keep releasing stuff.
either control, or mats with funny graphics etc.

basically you give any gamer any decent mat even tho its faster or slower, they will adjust their mouse or in-game sens to match what they are used to so any movement done will have the mouse travel about the same distance.
*
I agree with your opinion on the manufacturers marketing tactic. But as a rough and smooth surface user, i am voicing my opinion. I am a low sens player so i do drag my mice quite often. And from what i found out, the smooth surface excels better in FPS games and the rough one is better on my DOTA gaming experience. Of cuz every1 adjust their mouse in-game mouse sens to suit their own preference. nod.gif

*
That day i asked ban leong bout the warranty for DA. They told me warranty only for 1 year. I not sure whether yours can be claimed. Btw, Razer products are distributed in Malaysia thru Ban Leong so any warranty claim is handled by them.

i guess if you drag real fast then there is a slight difference...but nothing lots of practice to familiarise urself with the new mat wont fix tongue.gif
tho what i dont really like about the control cloth mat is that its surface feels irritating if i rest my wrist on it.
*
Yes. The feeling of the mat when resting your wrist, the friction it causes on your wrist when u do drag, it doesn't feel nice. Thats why i recommend that person who ask to get Goliathus Speed instead smile.gif
Of cuz other brands such as Steel Series and Everglide makes better cloth pad for smooth surface, but this is Razer Thread so i can't recommend others laugh.gif

if not wrong, DA warranty is 2 yrs right? so how the procedure for RMA?
1. email them regard my problem?
2. post to them via postlaju? (how to pay for RM20)?
3. waiting they to send to u?

last but not least, how long RMA take? and i had replace the mousefeet..do it void the warranty?
*
Are u from KL/PJ?
Their office is near Digital Mall SS14,PJ.

The last time i called them, they said if end user send to them directly for warranty, the process is faster than those dealer send in.

Btw, when u replace the mouse skates, u peeled off the original ones? Mouse skates won't void warranty. Warranty is void when u opened the screw that is buried beneath the Serial Number sticker for LED modification or to disassemble the mouse.

razer owns everglide, so the pads are the same.
the everglide dktmat is similar in material to the mantis, i would dare to say its the same.
while the goliathus is a slightly improved and smoother version of the mantis.

anyway, its the same with anything else.
ppl go for brand to make it easier to choose what to use, same with shoes / clothes etc.
*
What?! Everglide under Razer?!
Bro, Everglide DKT board is Inspired by 'Powered By Razer' program only.
Razer provided the technological expertise and invaluable suggestions to the DKTBoard.
Its like Microsoft Reclusa 'Powered By Razer'. Same concept.

tongue.gif Don't be mistaken

its not exactly a well known publicized fact, and it doesnt need to be.
but apparently razer took over everglide a few yrs ago i guess in anticipation of using its mousepad tech.
also fibertek is a everglide trademark, but razer also uses it.
i also have friends who were sponsored by everglide, and also razer.
*
Omg, insider news. I really can't dig this up man. New discovery today doh.gif
Thanks for the head ups. Anyway i am razer mice and mpad fans.
If only their headsets have better reviews, i would have gotten them instead of hd555s.

well i dont own a razer headset nor keyboard...unless the dktboard can be considered one.
im waiting to see what razer's new keyboard will be, im guessing it will mechanical be to compete with SS 7G.
afterall, with prices of mouses and headsets increasing, i think ppl wont mind paying for a good keyboard also tongue.gif
*
I dont really fancy gaming kb tongue.gif
What i need to frag is a good tracking mouse, good gliding and control mousepad, and some skills tongue.gif
Mechanical kb, another premium price to pay. I don't really like SS products as they are overpriced. Look at their 4L, Razer destructor is better than it and yet cheaper by RM30-40. flex.gif

It is best to call them yourself and ask them what they need u to do instead of guessing smile.gif

Guys I want to ask, you know under the mouse tongue.gif
Where they write the Razer word like Lachesis and stuff
What happens if I peel it when the warranty is still on
Will it be void? How about the mamba? smile.gif
If you pull the flap where is is suppose to be under the battery
When you take the flap out, it is hard to remove the battery

Thanks
*
the only purpose of opening the sticker is to unscrew the hidden screw beneath it. once u peel off, it's quite noticeable that it has been opened before.
therefore, they have the rights to void your warranty claim, saying that ur item has been opened before.

Expensive Mouse, Expensive Headset, now they just need an over RM500 keyboard to complete their line of "not-for-you" products.
*
Haha... well said..

i also really wanna get their megalodon but it is really pricey.. already got their DA and Destructor. maybe need a couple of weeks to save up for megalodon then only save up for a better keyboard design from them.

Razer is successful becuz they are offering the full set gaming solutions. So pandai do business.

they're really good in their branding built-up....to the extend that when some people think about PC Gaming Peripherals...they see Razer... tongue.gif
*
the 1st thing they buy is their gaming mice. and becuz their gaming mice are really good, they will think that ALL their other gaming peripherals are good too.
so ppl are gonna get the whole set of gaming stuffs from them, just like my fren. he collect all the mouse from razer...
