i'm pretty sure it wont cut n paste the accounts activation as well. still need to activate/de-activate manually while signed on PSN, could be wrong though.

PS3 Data Transfer:
"This feature enables you to transfer all of your saved data from one PS3 to another. So if you decide to get a new PS3 you can make sure you don’t loose any of your existing content. Content such as games, game save data, and videos downloaded from PlayStation Network can be transferred to the new PS3 system and deleted from the current PS3. Other content, including personal media files (photos, music, videos), can be copied onto the new PS3 and remain on the current PS3 system." sos From what i understand there games, game save data, video dloaded from PSN = cut n paste personal media files = copy n paste This post has been edited by pel: Dec 10 2009, 03:18 PM |

Game saves which are copy-protected will not be moved over.
I just tried it, so take note. |

strange. I just update the latest fw 3.15, after complete download, it can just access my XMB without any installation like usual?
And i see the new feature PS3 data transfer utility is there, which mean already update the latest fw. Anyone of you also facing same scenario? no installation process needed? |

QUOTE(aiyish @ Dec 10 2009, 05:09 PM) Press show info under game saves. This article says so otherwise: QUOTE There has been some confusion as to whether or not the newly introduced Data Transfer Utility for the Playstation 3 will be able to transfer copy-protected saves from one system to another. Those who chose to update the optional 3.15 firmware will find the new tool under the System Settings category with the following description: Transfers data that is saved on one PS3 system to another PS3 system. You can use this feature when replacing the PS3 system that you usually use with another PS3 system. Even saved data that is copy-protected can be transferred (moved). So, despite Sony stating the opposite earlier, it looks like you can move your copy-protected saves from one Playstation 3 system to another. http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-6894-Vi...ransfer-Utility |
