hi all, currently i am using the pp2 215/45 r17 tyre on the civic. seems like the tyre sound is so loud when driving.... sad.gif
is there any other brand of tyre that can provide more silent drive? i doesn't need so performance tyre... jt silent and comfort type will do...
can the v12 do the job? roughly how much the price now?? or any other suggestion?? wat is the lifespan for the pp2(in millage) as i need to estimate when need to change it.... thanks in advance.... biggrin.gif

V12 cannot u can skip all directional tires... try GY F1 Asymmetric... that should be better and comfort also... if not try out Toyo C1S... both around RM400~450 region i think... life span of tire is very dependable on drivers, PP2 should be around 35~40k km...

okie. bro. thanks for ur advice..... will consider it when the times come....

Just bought Hankook Ventus Evo V12 and i must say this is by far the best tyre i used so far.

The tyre is grippy and traction has improved tremendously. Noise is still acceptable and I'm impressed by its good gripping over both highways and normal roads.

It rained heavily today so i test it by driving abit spirited and i couldnt believe how impressive the grip at wets. My car did not lose traction when driving fast on highways.

For such price (RM290 per piece for 205/45/R17), man I couldn't ask for more thumbup.gif
*
only RM290 for 17 inch? last time i asked is around RM500 wo....
where is that shop loc.? interested on it....

your original 14" size???? that size don have real performance tires la... more towards comfort...
i can put 185/60 R14, Falken 912, Michelin PP2, Toyo Teo Plus, both PP2 and Teo Plus is a lil expensive around RM200... 912 is nice and cheap, but the thread tends to wear a lil fast...
Hankook V12 or Nexen 8000 smile.gif
*
Nexen 8000?? nv heard this brand before wo... dunno my area have this or not... roughly how much ? can fd1 fit 215/50/r17? or thicker?
is the thread tahan enough? smile.gif currently using PP2. almost botak alr... feel like vy noisy though but the grip is still ok.... so start to survey what tire suitable. just normal driving style only....

PP2??? stock tires is PP1 is not PP2...
Nexen is within your budget, as below RM350 cannot fit much model in... you can try 215/45 R17 for GY F1 Asy but it is near to RM400/pc and Michelin PS3 where it is about RM450/pc... both is quiet and grippy...
if you don mind Nexen is nice and cheap, quiet some numbers of ppl using it and there is not much complaint for that value...
*
act mine one alr reach 100k millage. i bought the car 2nd hand from my uncle. he changed the stock tire from 16 to 17 pp2 which currently still using it...

so if my budget stretch till RM400/pc. what other choice else? how about F912. heard not bad feedback from forumer here.... is F912 on par with the Nexen ? or slightly better?

my preference would be :

comfort + silent > traction (as long as wont buang when driving during heavy raining - perhaps average 140km/h at highway) biggrin.gif

then on that Traction is very important... go for Goodyear F1 Asy... should be below RM400 smile.gif
it is Asymmetric tires, lower in noise...
it is quite comfort as per feedback and it is grippy... Nexen 8000 feedback is good but Falken 912 ppl said thread is wearing faster than expected...
*
will the GY F1 silent alot more that my PP2(30% thread left)?
my PP2 now noisy like hell,.... rclxub.gif really can bare with it....
thinking of changing my rim to 15" or 16" so that much more comfort and silent.... hmm.gif

if i would prioritize comfort and silent tire with just ok ok grip. what are the choices i have? (around rm300).
again sorry for many question......

i would say try Hankook V12... or Nexen 6000... F1 GSD3 is not silent at all...
*
which one more silent ?? i'm not afford to change it again after found that are noisy still smile.gif

nexen6000 or 8000, previously u recomend 8000? kindly advice ya... notworthy.gif
which to get most silent and long lasting. grip/traction wise normal will do. very seldom drive more than 110km/h biggrin.gif follow the rules rclxms.gif

upgrading bigger rims will give more uncomfort n bumpy ride more ever petrol jus wen up n expenses also will b goin up soon~
so for ur infomation good tires 16" n above will cost u at least rm350 n above~
if u dun have tat kind of money then u should stay on ur stock size rather then killing urself wit bigger tires+maintainance? ?  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif

hehe... i did realize that.... it alr come with 17" when i bought the car 2nd hand.... smile.gif
so thinking any solution on top of that nod.gif

thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
agree a million times... ppl should get proper tires, not cheap tires... after accident regret also no use...

i do knew that.... laugh.gif jt seek for advice on wiser choice on the tire.... so tat wont regret after that.... and my current affordability is rm300-350 or stretch till max rm400.
so i need to seek for all pro advice here. so i hope my money do spend on really worth for money tire.... nod.gif notworthy.gif

if about RM400 at the size of 215/45 R17 get GY F1 Asy... nice tire... silent with comfort...
*

so the rank would be :
1st. - GY F1 Asy
2nd. - Nexan 8000/6000
3rd. - Hankook V12

correct, bro micheal9413?
if then i will stick with 3 choices above smile.gif nod.gif notworthy.gif

start from 16" actually... i am using 205/45/16...
S1 evo is a class higher then V12... can consider "lower" semi-slick class
dry grip is far more superior to V12 and the wet grip is not bad but don't push your luck during wet (all other donuts are about the same too)

for 205/45/16 is RM 365~ per piece...
rating is  ZR
smile.gif
*
icic. will put it in my wishlist as well... does it have 215/45/r17 size?
with ur 16" price alr rm365. i guess the 17' one would be near to rm400 alr....

so can i say it is on par with the GY F1 asym ?? which is also same price range .....

yes yes... S1 evo... need more feedback on those...
*
S1 Evo only available at size 225/45/R17 which i think the price would be around rm500/pcs.... shocking.gif so it is way out of my budget alr....
then i might jt stick to either GY F1 or Hankook V12 Evo which is more easy to find on my area here... dun think have Nexen at my area... smile.gif
