no no... putting larger patch will make the FC poorer... means more makan minyak... use back 195/60 R15, use low rolling resistance tires which they say "Green or Eco Tires"...

QUOTE(KiAN008 @ Feb 19 2011, 09:23 AM) 185/60 R14 is nearer to the OE size... QUOTE(vexus @ Feb 19 2011, 10:05 AM) nice nice... where you manage to find it...QUOTE(Daniel's @ Feb 20 2011, 04:19 AM) I see, as it was quoted by a tyre shop somewhere in Klang. At first wanted to take Ce28 with 15 or 16 inch but they say they don't have it. With the budget i have is RM2300 RIM+TYRES. Btw the RIM is 17 inch. I'm planning to stick with this tyres maybe for a year or so later on change to something else when I have the cash. I'm not using it for drift, but maybe a lil bit motorsport adrenalin but certainly not on rainy days. Or maybe i should stretch my budget to RM2500 to get something better? Any kind hearted can recommend me any decent tyres? Something that is reliable and worth getting. heard the Achilles is not bad but wet grip is acceptable... Hankook V8rs or V12 will cost you around RM1300 already.. with rims it is a bit hard leh... Edit, Currently looking Yokohama A drive or C drive and Hankook tyres. My car is a 1990 2.0 FF 5 Speed manual. Any idea how much is the Achilles tyres for 17 inch atr sport? QUOTE(fazron80 @ Feb 20 2011, 09:51 AM) My car did like yours. Kept to the left and I wasted hundreds of money doing alignment. Trying different shops. Each time blaming the tyre shop for not doing the alignment right. Some shop do suggest that my bush is loose. After changing the bush it just WOW!!!. Steering feel precise and tight. My wife complains it feels heavier but that's not an issue with me. It's been 6 months since I did my last alignment and don't feel like doing it anytime soon. yes... might be your bushing or your steering rod or something else... my old toy have the problem also b4... pls check with the tyre man and see... My honest suggestion is go and change your steering bush. I could have save hundreds of my money if I did it earlier. It's not exact science though. Changing steering bush solves my problem. It might not work for you but you can try. QUOTE(SkyBlue99 @ Feb 21 2011, 01:52 AM) side thread la... not sidewall coz sidewall will never have thread QUOTE(eric_ocy @ Feb 21 2011, 02:31 AM) Yokohama A drive... |

QUOTE(shado @ Feb 21 2011, 03:09 PM) Sifusss... u can try 185/60 R14... try new Yokohama C Drive 2... comfort and nice... although the grip is not as good as performance tires but it is more than enough for normal city driving... Need a recommendation... I'm totally noob when it comes to tyres Honda City 09 - 175/65R15 stock I'm looking for a quiet ride (the stock tyre really noisy Of course price also has to be at reasonable... Not more than RM1000 (4 tyres) lower is better Did some reading but dont understand on the part where we can change tyres size even on stock rims as long not more that 3%.. Change different size has advantage? better fuel consumption? A friend suggest Goodyear Eagle NCT 5 if not mistaken..is it good? Thanks in advance QUOTE(SkyBlue99 @ Feb 21 2011, 03:29 PM) overfloe: GR-90 is really quiet.. i upgraded from ER60 and never regretted. wet grip is really good for me(i never try performance tires). i would suggest people to give GR-90 a try... QUOTE(kobe10 @ Feb 21 2011, 05:46 PM) good, wet king... but it is a lil noisy thats all, if you can bear with it then should be ok... for me noisy is a lil annoying... |

QUOTE(shado @ Feb 21 2011, 11:49 PM) Thanks sifu Falken 912 even Certis or XM1 also good for comfort... and if possible, can you suggest another 1 or 2, just in case I cannot find the 1st one at my place. Thank you so much QUOTE(cslee007 @ Feb 22 2011, 01:59 PM) Hi, all Sifusss... silent, comfort and lasting??? hmmm duno can try these 2 models, Falken 912 or Nexen N8000.. others will be a lil expensive... if you don mind it is a lil noisy due to the thread design then Hankook V12 will suits u too... Need a recommendation... What is the best tyres for Altis 1.8G 205/55/R16? Originally using Michelin MXV8, but now discon already. Due to budget issue, hope to get something around RM 300 - 330 that can have almost similar performance as MXV8. yea just got 1 new tire come in already... Yokohama C Drive 2 which is around ur budget... can try to look around... This post has been edited by michael9413: Feb 22 2011, 05:06 PM |

QUOTE(SkyBlue99 @ Feb 22 2011, 11:59 PM) well that is higher range... i think you can try others like GY F1 Asy, PS3, and others too... your preference on the tires make your day... Comfort, Handling and Noise... which is most important... if noise is a concern skip all directional tires for safe play... QUOTE(cslee007 @ Feb 23 2011, 11:34 AM) Ok. I'll look into the Falken 912, Nexen N8000 or Yokohama C Drive 2. those are so so... A Drive is entree level while C Drive is 1 step higher... Btw, how about Yokohama A drive and Goodyear Assurance or Excellence? QUOTE(LY123 @ Feb 23 2011, 12:06 PM) I see i see.. Owh..Thanks then my car's alignment should be ok now... u should insisted them to realign back, i did 2 times return and waste some of my time i got mine done... From what I observed, Tech Ming Auto service, they actually measure the front tires distance by using meter tapes after put on the alignment machine (when there is still red alert on one aside, the alignment man put the car down then measure using meter tape, test drive, then done. RM20 charged for alignment) For the second shop I went to Sing Ming Tyres nearby Equine park,Seri Kembangan behind Esso. The alignment test drive my car, put my car on the alignment machine, do adjustment till the PC show both are 0, tires both sides are green, then he went to test drive again. Then he switch the front tyre right<->left, test drive again. Then done. Charged only RM10. Conclusion is I feel my car is better after the second time alignment. Anyway, for the best result I think is better to go for the shop people recommend at the best alignment sifu thread. Whereby Kin Alignment is one of them. i changed rim and tires with them, alignment sucks during 1st and 2nd was better and 3rd is good... they swap tires around, unmount and remount, i don care as i want to have it properly aligned... QUOTE(turion64 @ Feb 23 2011, 02:52 PM) try to call them b4 u go la... there is some shop contact in the 1st page i think... QUOTE(investor @ Feb 23 2011, 08:51 PM) should be RM250 to RM280 already...QUOTE(Zaypher @ Feb 23 2011, 08:56 PM) where is ur area? I am changing to PS3 of the same price this coming saturday. Wanna do it together haha RM10 better save your time and fuel to drive to rawang bro... The michelin shop behind my house whom I maintained close relationship billed me RM260 per piece If you go Rawang, the price is RM 250. So I reckon the price should be around there la QUOTE(Sean2k @ Feb 24 2011, 04:30 AM) hello, im using hankook 205/45/16 tire and i feel tat it is really noisy~~ skip S Drive... skip what so ever directional tires if you wanna have a more quiet drive... hankook tires that you are using is V8rs or V12 evo, both is directional thread... planning to change bridgestone re001 or yokohama S drive which 1 better actually ?? or any recommendation ?? prefer low noise ! RE001 or PS3 is better... what you want from the tires??? what is your budget and what model u used b4... mind to give some comment so that we are give you more proper idea which model is more suitable for you... cheers... QUOTE(noprob @ Feb 24 2011, 06:44 PM) Guys yes you are correct... true ka there's no v12 205/50/16 series available ? .. One of the tire shop i went today told me the korean didn't produce that series for v12 , series 45 then jump to 55 series . donno he's bluffing or what .. Btw got a price for v8 205/50/16 - Rm320 QUOTE(yehlai @ Feb 25 2011, 08:40 AM) it sucks la... skip that... PS3, RE001 much more better in wet and also noise... it's grip in dry is good but when used for daily drive cannot la... coz here our country always sudden shower, and i don want to drive below 80km/h in wet... QUOTE(Zaypher @ Feb 25 2011, 05:00 PM) haha Added on February 26, 2011, 7:00 am QUOTE(sozhai7788 @ Feb 25 2011, 04:56 PM) Hup Soon in PJ SS3 or Sunway, Weng Tat is Subang SS15...This post has been edited by michael9413: Feb 26 2011, 07:00 AM |

QUOTE(wannur @ Mar 1 2011, 10:25 AM) hi, i'm thinking of changing my exora tyres (195/65 R15). my budget is around rm1000 . if less is better u have Falken 912, Michelin XM1, Goodyear Assurance, Yokohama C Drive... thank you. QUOTE(dRLurve @ Mar 4 2011, 01:32 PM) nope i do not see R1 is a good tires... QUOTE(dRLurve @ Mar 4 2011, 02:22 PM) well it wears faster than expected... that's all... it's grip and comfort is better than others comfort tires within the range... QUOTE(yngwie @ Mar 4 2011, 09:44 PM) what is your criteria / preference? yokohama a.drive r1 is too basic else, kumho ecsta ku-31. cost around rm245 but that was last year pricing. i tested the achilles atr a few month back. cost rm199 each with 420 tread wear and deep directional tread. also, performance is acceptable on normal driving style but less progressive steering feel and lesser grip too. QUOTE(Amal @ Mar 5 2011, 12:13 PM) Hi guys, need advice here. you can get softer sidewall tires... Hankook V8rs... RE001 is a lil hard.. PS3 still ok ok... but if your ride is lower i think it is a lil hard too... too bad Hankook V12 does not have your size... I'm using old vios 2004. Changed my abs+spring(Koni+Eibach). Changed rims and tyres to 205/45/16 (RE001). Feel abit bumpy. Can my lowered car be fitted with 205/50/16? Thanks that size should be over the 3% of the OE size... QUOTE(nipah @ Mar 5 2011, 01:42 PM) XM1 is old model, shall be replaced with LC. Check the date of manufacturing on tyres, if more than 3 years, then you probably 2 more years to go.. you are wrong... it is XM2... LC is replacement for MVX8...This post has been edited by michael9413: Mar 5 2011, 01:52 PM |

there is no new one... Energy is Green tires that's all... XM2 will be out soon... if you look around online it is available some country already... XM2 from online
Primacy LC is new tires replacing MXV8... not replacing XM1... XM1+ is the newer version of XM1... XM1 has been out quite long already about 8 years i think... old model is certis but they are still got production for both tires... Current active tires in Michelin in Certis, XM1, Primacy LC (replacing MVX8), Pilot Sport 3 (replacing PP2), Pilot Super Sport (replacing PS2) |

QUOTE(Amal @ Mar 5 2011, 08:43 PM) How much difference between RE001 and PS3, in terms of comfort and noise? no it is over the 3% rule compare to the OE size... which will affect your Speedometer & ABS functionality... so, u mean that the old vios can't fit with 205/50/16 tyres? mine is 2 fingers at the back. Added on March 5, 2011, 8:48 pm yeah, it could be. I thought eibach spring is quite close to stock spring compared to other lower spring. I also try set all my front and rear absorber to softest. I can't really feel the bumpy ride coming from the suspesion, but i do feel the hardness of my tyres everytime going through bumps. That's y i thought it could be the tyre profile or brand. PS3 should be slightly better in comfort... but those tires is more towards performance and the sidewall will not be soft... V12 is performance tires but it is soft... so does most of the Toyo performance tires... |

QUOTE(Amal @ Mar 5 2011, 11:31 PM) yup... at first i thought there will be just a slight difference in comfort, that's y wanna try performance since I like to go fast. prefer Hankook V12 coz Toyo's tires wet grip is so so only... now felt like changing back to 15" and get a primacy LC tyres instead. Added on March 5, 2011, 11:32 pm Thanks for the info! Added on March 5, 2011, 11:42 pm yup, I know it will affect the speedometer... but didn't know it will be too significant... also when I meant whether it can fit is that the tyres will hit the fender or not... after done some checking, it will hit... guess i better stick with the same size (205/45/16) right now or change back to my previous 195/55/15 size tyre if i cannot tahan the comfort.. gonna do research on Hankook V12 and Toyo tyres, see whether it can do something... Thanks bro. BTW stick you 15" if you still need a lil comfort... That is the reason why i did not change my Vios's (yr 05) rim to 16"... 16" onwards the ride comfort suffers then price is expensive, plus lowered i can feel the ouch on the butt... took a ride on a lowered new Vios J b4, with lowered Titan Spring (front) and Titan shocks/abs all round... he uses 195/55 R15 Federal 595 Evo... the ride is slightly bumpy but still bearable for me... if you want a lil comfort change back to 195/55 R15, but i duno your comfort tolerance so i suggested u to take PS3 1st instead of RE001 or GSD3... used Hankook V12 b4 on my stock ride, it gives me comfort but don like the handling and the Hydroplaning is not up to my expectation maybe our car too light... now on PS3 think overall is better... is up to you now... |

QUOTE(Amal @ Mar 6 2011, 05:04 PM) Ooopss... I forgot... PS3 i don think u will gain any comfort on 16"...The reason I changed my rims to 16" is because of 15" is abit more lowered until my car hit the road bump and also at a steep parking lot where my car touches the body... But yeah, my ride is not much bumpy and abit comfortable when with the 15" 195/55/15... ur friends car is the new vios, probably abit high than the old vios? Still, will have a look at the PS3... if you calculate properly the diameter of 195/55 R15 and 205/45 R16 is not much difference... so your car height is not affected much... |

of course la... 205/50 R16 is just 1.4% over the stock (G Spec, 185/60 R15) tires... but if E & J spec (175/65 R14) is more than the 3% if the stock tires already...
we must maintain 3% of the OE size coz it will affect the electronics calculation... acceleration and fc will be affected... speedo just slightly which can be ignore... without lower sure no problem but our fren here lowered his ride already... |

QUOTE(Amal @ Mar 6 2011, 09:25 PM) really ka? then no point lar like this... well what is your tires now??? sorry did not know what model are you using now... guess i have to live with it then... yup, it is almost identical, but abit higher i guess... tried putting it side by side... just a lil bit only... tried the same bump that i go through using my previous 15", amazingly no more touching with the 16"... there are 2 high bumps that I tested... today i felt my ride just abit softer then before... could it be because its still new that the tyre is abit hard? today is the 5th day... maybe the tires that you are using at 15" is soft also... the pressure maybe is too soft too... how many PSI are you on during 15" (195/55 R15) tires... QUOTE(yngwie @ Mar 7 2011, 07:57 AM) correction** haha that tire hopeless... a lot of ppl now stick to Michelin PS3, Falken FK452, GY F1 Asy, Hankook V12, S1 Evo, Nexen N8000, Federal 595 Evo on 17"... they are the safest bet at the moment which give you good grip...the dunlop tire model was of sp sport fm901. beside being noisy, the tire is hopeless in corner. does not match the name. even with higher pressure pumped. tested a staff's car again yesterday evening for a ride. tire flex like no tomorrow. a steering correction is require to counter the tire flexing even when going at relatively low 80km/h on corner even the c.drive peform a lot better in term of handling. |

try to lower ur pressure a lil... but mostly 16" setup tire pressure need to increase a lil also (35 PSI maybe)... depends on your preference... just make sure it is not under inflated... or the shocks and springs is too hard... coz Vios is a light car, the more harder the shocks are the more bumpy will be...
