is there any advantage of using that specific size and brand? Is it possible to get a set of tyre that save back a bit on FC with my limited budget?

this thread will be great if the 1st post will include those recommended tyre which is available in our market
for example tyre that determine by size, comfortability and performance, life span

instead of users coming in and ask 'please recommend me tyre size of xxx/xx/rxx'

Any idea of pricing ?

215/45R17 Michelin Pilot Preceda 2

pp2 no longer in the market. perhaps, you could get an old stock but it's replacement in ps3 is worth looking at.
not sure about 215 profile but 225 of ps3 cost in the region of 5xx bucks. a worth buy thou.

does newbie driver benefit from performance tire?

been offered 215/45/17 BS RE001 for RM480 apiece. nice price?
*
in some way, yes. performance tires give a better response in term of braking distance / grip and traction when we need it.
but using a ultra high performance tires when we just started driving will increased our expectation on tires performance on next change.
after using re001, once you change to comfort tires like nct5 or d01 as a comparison, you will be disappointed by those different class tires.

for newbie driver (unless you're a spirited driver), sticking to non UHP tires coz' it will provide you with a good learning curves on tires behavior;
ie, grip & traction in wet . dry, handling, comfort and so on. icon_rolleyes.gif

he merely suggest profile 50 coz he wanted to clear existing stock.
profile 55 is slightly thicker than 50, thus give an added comfort to the ride. town ride and highway cruising definitely goes to profile 55.
profile 50 is good for handling / cornering and perhaps, looks! but i'll choose profile 45 anytime for handling and looks purpose.
your spectra should be fine with profile 55. now you noticed the ride is slightly firm, isn't it? brows.gif

Do you know of a good place to do steering bush replacement? Mine definitely is in need of replacement. Countless alignment from different tyre shop doesn't make my steering straight, especially after a full u turn. I think it also affect my tyre since the tyre wears out uneven. My car always wants to go to the left.

hey guys, may i know if there's other ways in checkin whether ur car's tyres have been properly balanced n aligned by workshop? sometimes i felt that even after i drove in highway, the steering will steer to left or right also...duno it's bcoz of the road uneven or what...

n sometimes when i parking, though my tyres are straight..my steering is not...shouldn't be that case right?

by the way, may i know roughly ur guys' stock tyres can last for how long b4 changing all 4 again?

thank you for ur advices tongue.gif
