if you prefer comfort, the stock 14" is fine.
else, go for 15" wheels for better handling but some sacrifice in comfort. 195/50/r15 with profile 50 being less comfort.

i can get that michelin xm when i want to change tyre ? as i read it few pages before this, is quite good and stock goodyear ducaro are bad.
if i change rims got any difference ? or look only, cos i see a lot changed their rims.

avoid getting the same tyre; ie; gy ducaro or silverstone's m3 or m5 traction and grip sux big time. especially in wet. wheels lock but tyre skid.
safety first. get a better offering from michellin, yokohama or falken.
changing to 15" rim will allow you to get a wider diameter tyre as in 195 width, which increased the car's cornering / handling ability and wider choices of tyre too. safety first. looks is secondary.

at least, sime astar 3000 is slightly better in wet than ducaro and silverstone m3/m5 at those price smile.gif
btw, no compromise in safety. getting a better tyre is always the best option.

Tyres are the only part of your car that actually have contact with the road.... people who go for cheaper tyres boggles my mind...

it's normal for performance tyre to be noisy. the directional tread in most of the federal tyre offering does add up to the noise factor.
as usual, any tyre tend to become noisier as the tread wear out.

klia@
you can try premacy lc. or the new cc5 which replaced the cc1.

I thought cc5 is noiser than cc1 and more expensive hmm.gif . Michellin xm1 is soften than cc1 so wear and tear is faster but quality wise is better, is it true? Thanks for sharing

just a friction noisier. not really noticeable when new. increased overall performance. and replacement model always cost more expensive.
you are right about the tread wear, michellin xm1 tend to wear out faster but more comfortable.
anyway, tread wear is another subjective thing. will be very much depend on the driving style as well.

I'm using Federal SS595

Found the tyre is sticky to the street, handling is pretty good.
Noise is an issue though......

it's not about point of view. point of view can be biased due to influence from tires shop which in turn might be due to their supplier tongue.gif
after all, tires to car is like a shoes to us human. we wear formal shoes to office, and we don't wear 6 stud on running track. same thing apply to car.
for those user who prefer a leisure and comfort ride, any tyre will probably be just as useful.
but for spirited and experience driver, settling for something which is less than expectation is quite risky.

oh! and you are wrong, every tires out there made for good. none had a bad stuff. i prefer to call it weak point brows.gif
just that different level of playing field / individual preference makes some other tires(in the same class; ie; uhp ) inferior to others.
so, choose one that suit our preference, driving style, and the car itself.
and never neglect the safety aspect.
