I've tried 9.4 and getting graphic corruption issues on 3dmarkvantage. Gonna reinstall and try again to make sure it's not the 3dmark files that is corrupted.

Did you cleaned up the driver well before you install a new one.
You tried with a single card or with your CrossFire?

I wanna how much it has improved with HD4890. But it's ok.
*
3dmark was fine with Crossfire on(running at 4870 speed) when I used the beta 9.4 that is bundled with Asus EAH4890 card. The graphic corruption occurs after installing Catalyst 9.4 and restart. It's gone after I restart my computer again. Here are the result with no overclock (2.66ghz processor) at all.

Default performance setting at 1280x1024 with no crossfire (4890 speed) is P10116 and crossfire (4870 speed) is P12693. I got P9211 on my 4870.

Go 4890 1GB instead of 4870 1GB. The price difference is so little.

The difference is the build quality, cooling solution, the accessories provided and the overclocking features. I forgot to mention, the technical support.

Asus cards comes with Smartdoctor. You can use this utility for overclocking or fan control.

I noticed my Asus EAH4890 for Vista is 264/475 and XP is 240/975 when idle. Seems like Powerplay for XP and Vista has different speeds. What about other brands? Is it the same?

You cannnot compare 2 cards against single card cause not all games supports crossfire. The power consumption is also a lot and more heat is generated compare to single card.

I'm using CM690 casing with Asus EAH4890 1GB and I'm getting 60-62C idle, 74C load. A few degrees drop for both idle and load after slapping a Coolermaster 90CFM fan on graphic card power input side. hehehe

Some sites with 3dmark vantage score are inflated by GPU PhysX, unless they state that they disabled GPU PhysX or the score is similar without GPU PhysX. Submission to Futuremark's hall of fame will be disqualified if your 3dmark score involves GPU PhysX.

I think 5000 series will be released when Windows 7 or DirectX 11 is out. Probably somewhere on the last quarter of this year. 4770 just earned recommended buy 2009 at $220 for Tom's hardware.

I think it would fit but it depends on your motherboard and casing. My CM690 and P5Q Deluxe could handle 2 cards with dual slot coolers.

Are you sure CM690 can handle it. Hurm.. can you post some pic of your setup. Thanks~

My old 4890 + 4870 setup on CM690 using my same motherboard. Silverstone Evolution 1000W PSU just next to my second graphic card.

[attachmentid=961884]

Currently I'm back to one HD 4890 cause the games I play don't need the extra performance yet.

No. Didn't really bother about third party coolers cause my environment already cool enough.

From the looks of Accelero's size, it's half the length of crossfire bridge. It should fit if other motherboard PCI-e lanes are the same as P5Q Deluxe or motherboards with better PCI-e positions.

Thanks and hope the information about Accelero is enough.

Welcome. I looked at P6T Deluxe slots and the PCI-e lanes are identical to mine. It will fit unless your power supply is bigger than mine. Raven looks like a nice casing but the budget for that is high for a casing.

Microsoft already announced Windows 7 will be available by December and it includes DirectX 11. Probably that is the time DirectX 11 will be released. Look out for HD 5000 series tongue.gif

There could be several reasons why you're seeing this page:

■You clicked on a link on a site that is not part of the AMD domain (e.g. not support.amd.com).
■You're using a download manager. Download managers usually offer to search for alternative download locations. While this is nice for the user, it's bad for the webmaster because a download which originated on another site could theoretically still be downloaded from this site, without anybody knowing.  Workaround to this restriction: Set up your download manager to send a HTTP referrer, and when you click on a link on the AMD site the download will then be authorized.
■Your browser did not send a referrer. This normally happens if you right click on a link and select save-as, or if you copy and paste a link into a new browser window and press Enter. It may also be that your browser is set up to not send any referrer. Left clicking on a link works just fine and has been tested in IE, FireFox, Netscape , Opera and Mozilla.
■Some software firewalls (such as Norton Personal Firewall or ZoneAlarm) remove the referrer from HTTP requests which will block any downloads on any site that does a referrer check. Hence such options should always be turned off. In Norton go to the Privacy Settings and disable browser privacy (which doesn't really protect your privacy anyway as your IP address will always be logged regardless of that setting), in ZoneAlarm go to Privacy -> Cookie Control -> Custom and uncheck "remove private header information".
■If you use a mozilla based browser (Mozilla, Firefox or Netscape Navigator), referrer sending can also be deactivated (it is activated by default). To change that setting, browse to "about:config", then search for "network.http.sendRefererHeader". If the value is set to 1, referrer sending is enabled, if it is set to 0, it is disabled. To enable it, double click on it, then change the value.
We're sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

if gamer dun mind AA, there is little if not no different between 1GB & 512 version.
but again, if user dun mind crank up AA much, better just go for gtx260.

4870 usually dun perform dat well once resolution goes above 1900 * 1200
*
You mean 4870 don't perform well at 1900x1200 or higher for the games you play? I only see this problem if the games are optimized for Nvidia hardware.
