Thanks..!! noblesse

exhaust i got kinda a nice trade with one fella..he is using auto and find a bit lag while driving..used only for 2months..
so i paid him RM240 and he took my stock exhaust system..and paid for installation was Rm70..so total was like RM310.. but for new going to cost like RM900..+-...anyways this is the most best investment on my ride.. increase 7bhp.. u can feel the power..btw the exhaust system is frm the header to the tail tip.. worth every single penny.. brows.gif brows.gif brows.gif

rear view pix tak de snap lagi lah..sorry.. sweat.gif sweat.gif later i take pix..

wow increase 7 bhp is quite good figure for a viva.My family's newly bought viva 660 manual does feel underpowered. An increase of 7 bhp from the base 47 bhp is very good.

Although its 10 hp more than the original kancil but the lag during take off acceleration from standstill is really noticeable, and things gets worse when you are ferrying 4 ppl on the car.
*
but i guess the HB exhaust system only covers for the 1.0..not sure dose it have for 660 and 850.. but u can give it a try..try ask them..
try visiting speedworks.com.my..they have the info..

hi there bro..kklim

1 - i guess ur referring to the Air Con filter right.. usually for air con filters its going to cost u around RM15-25..(including installation)..u cna try to search in Mudah.my or in the LYN Automotive Garage Sales.. there's a few ppl selling those.. brows.gif

2 - ur driving an auto or manual? 1.0 / 850 / 660 ? personally for my car the first bar will only drop after 70kms.. on my 1st fuel up when i got my car it dropped at 42km..and currently my car can go up to 550km with one full tank.. rclxm9.gif u might need to wait for the 1st service then and take a look after the service.. tongue.gif tongue.gif

3 - for carpets i have no idea.. i am still using the stock carpet anyways.. haha.. sweat.gif

hi there.. its been a while i havent been dropping by to this thread... i am a viva driver as well.. thumbup.gif basically what Melvin have said is true...

mods on my car :

- volker iridium plugs (perodua carry's denso iridium as well.. same grade...)
- full hotbits exhaust system
- Pivot Mega raizin VS
- Works Engineering air filter (compatible with myvi 1.0)
- lightweight imported Japan Rims (14") 5.5j front 6.5j rear (u can pick up the rim with one finger...but it did cost me a bomb..
- Ultra Racing bars... Front bar and rear lower arm (dose improve the body roll a bit rather stock)
- GAB chrome edition Sport Springs
- Shadow Water Temp gauge (since the car dose not have a proper water temp meter)

currently my best fc is - 54.3km/liter... one full tank i can go up to 650kms.. (avg speed of 110-120km) at 1/4 throttle press

model : viva sx 1.0 (09)

says if change aftermarket rim and tyre (bigger than stock)
will void warranty for suspension, absorber etc,(correct if wrong).so that mean
cannot change it till 3 years to avoid warranty issue?
*
i am not sure about that.. but ive changed mine to 14" (same size with stock but better looking tongue.gif ) my warranty still on.. as they have changed my both of my viva caliper's on the last 3 service..

but i am sure that certain parts they only cover for a period of time only..

eg :
shocks - 3 years..

better check your car manual again.. theres a note there...

As far as i know, if you change the rim to bigger sport rim like me (15'x6.5jj). you can't claim the warranty for front wheel bearing in case they are broken.

i know this because my bearing kaput last week, only after 8 months of using this sport rim.
perodua bangi told me that the front bearings were suppose to be under the warranty(my car is 1 year and a half) but since i changed to the bigger sport rim, they couldn't cover it. so, i had to purchase. sad.gif

the front wheel bearing will cost you RM98.50 per side if you buy original part from perodua OR RM70 per side if you buy NTN Bearing made in japan smile.gif
bugger!  vmad.gif

hahahha. bro la, lama menghilang dari sini tongue.gif
*
jgn la marah... tongue.gif

btw my hub bearing almost kaput again.. ada freeplay... shit.. sweat.gif sweat.gif

they didnt press it properly when i changed last time..

and our bearing is the same..hahaa..but u beli kinda mahal pulak..but worth it kn! rclxm9.gif

i think my 'trumpet exhaust' is so loud right now. i want to do a full new exhaust setup tho.

this is my current exhaust setup :
1. aftermarket 3-1 header (no more catcon kind of filter of original header/extractor from perodua)
2. stock/ori mid section
3. rear section i use trumpet exhaust

i'm interested to do hotbits setup. but since i would like to know the hotbits spec first, who knows i might find a shop that can do the exact same or almost identical spec for much lower price.

what is the piping size for exhaust?
how about the bullet?

i'm hoping to use the extractor that i have right now but with new piping size, bullets and muffler. please advise
*
deiii.. u call me la.. got my number dy.. i know one small shop around kg subang.. can do exhaust like mine... haha.. sure u like it..

depends on which perodua u go also. some they simply say kenot claim but actually can haha. as i know, as long as change rim size to 15" warranty void for bearings..

i think my car now no warranty already lol.

almost changed everything except engine..
perhaps still have warranty for engine i hope tongue.gif

how much $$ range for full aftermarket suspension setup? i think this is my first or second aim
after get my car (they said after raya).coz really dont like 13" with rim cap  sweat.gif
*
it depends on the type of suspension that your looking at... semi adjustable.. fully adjustable... sports abs..

just a rough picture

fully adj - can cost from 2.4 - 3k

semi adj - 900 - 1.4k

sports - 450 - 700

this is not a exact figure.. tho..

but u also an fit the aftermarket suspension from a myvi to our viva..

to avoid from the fenders touching with tires while on heavy load.. you need to ketuk the fender a bit.. i havent ketuk mine yet.. as i dont have the time.. i was told tu ketuk fender belakang kiri kanan its around 40-80.. not more.. unless the Paint falls down... and dont ever grind the fender.. as it will cause tire burst as sharp edges... icon_rolleyes.gif

No, you'd get me wrong bro. those things that i was talking about bearing etc2 are not necessary to change to PREVENT HITTING FENDER.

if you want to use 15' rims, here are the spec that i suggest so that you CAN just plug and play :

1. make sure the rim is 15'x6.5jj. if it's 15'x7jj and above, it WILL hit the fender.
2. make sure the offset is 38. that offset is just 'ngam ngam' for viva  laugh.gif
3. make sure the tire size is 165/50/R15. you can use 175/50/R15, but for FRONT only. if you use 175/50/R15 for the rears, it will hit the fender or the absorber on the inside.

do bear in mind, even if you use all of the specs above, the rear tyres WILL STILL hit the rear fenders if your car is on the full load. eg:2 person at the front including driver+3person at the back.

HOWEVER, if you have the money and you want to change the full suspension setup (spring+absorber) to aftermarket or adjustable etc3, you can just forget about any of the above. because i believe the tyres will not hit the fender due to the stiffer suspension.

ps : about the wheel bearings that i was talking about, since your car is new, just use the stock bearings as long as it can survive. once it kaput, then you change wink.gif. wheel bearings are easier to damaged especially if you use stock bearings because the mass rotation of the bigger wheels are higher.
*
just change my suspension front and back... still the same.. touching..stressful but with heavier load.. last time 3 org dh sagat.. now 4 ppl baru sagat... 3 ppl ok lagi... sbb my passenger semua HEAVY WEIGHT k70... not k45.. sure ok lagi... whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif whistling.gif

another question

:: what happen if i buy 14" sport rim + ori abs,spring viva,full load?

:: and what happen if i buy 15" sport rim + ori abs, spring viva, full load?
*
stock viva + full load = OK..

14" (lets take it as 6jj) + stock abs + stock springs = Rear wheel fender sagat...

same goes to 15" (6jj)..

unless if dh ketuk the fender its should be ok..

if u are interested in sport springs..i do have a VIVA GAB Sport Spring (used) to let go.. as i just changes to adjustable.. PM me if u are interested... going cheap..PM ME

im looking for place to ketuk fender to make it kembang abit, without paint chipping.
my current rims 7JJ offset +26, poking like mad. wanna make it flush
*
wheres ur location.. i just did mine this morning... 55 bucks for all 4 fenders...at kota serimas sepang...but paint peeling may occur..also at our fenders we do have some sort of silicone lining around the fender.. that will terkopek.. but no harm..

anyways.. mine the paint terkopek sikit..very minimal..not that visible.. but i am planning to give my car a new paint job..so ok la..

stick with it for a while..

i think any paint shop will do at the same price.. ask around... biggrin.gif

but will buy it step by step

:: i see so many rim under 1k.sumtimes with no name, sumetimes bbs,etc (not ori?)
how their performance? izzit safe? any huge diff with expensive one??
*
i recommend for you to stay with 14".. as what i did.. if changing to 15" it does looks nice..but bearing surely will kaput faster... (ask camel_90)

for rims is hard to tell based on the price.. but if ur keen looking for used imported rims.. ill can give u contact for the shop where i bought my rims.. or i also might help to snap few pictures later tomorrow as ill be going there to do balancing and alignment .. they have few of options.. from 13" - 15" with pcd 100... Black Racing , Works Mesh, Rays, Watanabay, Snow.. ect...

in terms of performance...

Taiwan VS Japan

heavy...Light
Once bengkok hard to repair...can repair
murah...kinda pricy
low 2nd hand value..good 2nd value

thats what i can share..based on what i know... but to those who has more knowledge.. please do share..

for me what part u need to get first is depends on what you want.. looks? performance?

too bad bro,im at sbh,mybe limited choise of rim cry.gif . looks,performance,can i get both?  rolleyes.gif
if possible, wanna buy one by one part.
btween rim or sport spring or abs.what must come first.

let say use 14" sport rim + stock spring + stock abs = result?
use stock rim + sport spring + stock abs = stock absorber kaput faster due to stiffer spring (as bro camel90 says)
use stock rim + stock spring + aftermarket abs = result?
*
this is based on what i have experience..

14" sport rim + stock spring + stock abs = result

improve on handeling (as changed springs)..but with heavy load..rear tire tend to sagat with body.. (this really depends on the jj of the tires.. 6.5-7jj sure kena) unless if u have done some mods on the hub or ketuk fender..and honestly i have know idea how they canai the hub as ppl are saying this a lot..never tried this as i just ketuk fender..[/COLOR]

use stock rim + sport spring + stock abs = stock absorber kaput faster due to stiffer spring (as bro camel90 says)

this one i cant confirm..as i changes rims first before changing springs..

use stock rim + stock spring + aftermarket abs = result?

this one i cant confirm as well.. but for sure will improve handeling..

but i do rekon you to go for performance first... change plugs to iridium...then air filter...then UR bars..get the feel first..

it depends on the jj of the rims.. if u are using 5 - 5.5jj should be ok.. but if 6-7jj there are chances.. and it depends on the shocks as well.. ive met a few ppl driving viva having issues with soft rear shocks.. if heavy load at the back.. the viva looks like a sampan engine sangkut.. haha..

Hi,

Im new here. Im driving a perodua viva although is not my car but my relative let me use it regularly like everyday and Im treating it as my own car. Its actually my first car so Im new to this. I wanna take care it nicely. What kind of maintenance or service do I need to do to makesure it doesnt spoil?

thanks
*
thumb of rule..

-Check service intervals at the car manual.. (could be either 5k or 10k depends on the type of engine oil).. if the service is done my Perodua SC.. just continue with it.. (yes out side is cheaper..but only difference 10-20 bucks only..) ..but if more then 3 times service done out side Perodua SC..warranty void..

-Check tire pressure regularly every 3-7 days..make sure it inflates as per recommended (check side of door panel for pressure guide)

Now going for spring and the remaining Ultra Racing rear anti roll bar, rear tower bar and femder bars.

In future will go for the absorber and complete rework exhaust system.

The climax will be air filter, port and polish engine and swap engine? Hahahhhahahaahah

Ive changed my plugs to iridium already..bought from perodua sc..special order..50/pcs..(out side same price also) U can feel a bit of diffrence right after the installation..pretty hard to describe the feel..

Installing a VS on your viva is only to stablize the current going around your car..no matter its an auto or manual .. also installing ground cables helps a bit..ground cables do come along with the VS purchase..
