Hi there, what's the best way to get rid of bloated stomach? I just want to get rid off a few inches from my waistline? Does doing sit up is an effective method?

Aww, thank you so much!!!

Anyway, is 2 soft boiled eggs, a bowl of cereal, a glass of milk and an apple good for breakfast? Or shall I replace cereal with oats?
*
Yeap, oat would be a better choice smile.gif (rolled oat)

I was having oats most of the time as breakfast and lately find it quite boring hence was thinking to change to cereal

Anyway, if lunch I have hard boiled egg, oats, milk, and apple, is that fine? I ain't a big eater hence that amount is actually filling for me
*
This is my breakfast (my preworkout too)

Oat 30 - 45g (plain)
9egg white + 1 whole egg
1 banana Or an orange
1-2 dates (taking advantage of the simple carbs and b12 for my workout)

Other than oat, i usually prepare pasta or brown rice the night before... so in the morning i can heat up the pasta or cook some chicken if i m having brown rice.

If ur goal is to lose weight and those are the correct of carbs, protein and fat that u need then it should be fine. When i was losing fat, any meal other than breakfast and postworkout, i consume oranges for my carbs (careful with the pick of fruit, some fruits give pretty crazy GI level like watermelon and it used to be my favourite lol. Apple is a very decent pick)

Added on July 9, 2010, 7:28 pmWhy not terus eat 5 whole eggs instead of the 9 whites? Same amount of protein. But you get all those vit, minerals, lecithin, choline stuff.

That's a lot! 9 egg white + 1 whole egg for only breakfast?  sweat.gif
Anyway, you will prepare the carbonara sauce for pasta or what sauce that you'll be using? Isn't those are fattening? The double cream for carbonara is 48% butterfat!
*
I m using bolognese - full with tomatoes and tomatoes paste and onion hehe.

Although I use to work as a chef and cook number of pasta dishes, the best is always with: extra virgin olive oil and salt only  drool.gif
Bolognese is healthy, for fat loss regiment, the ingredients I root for is simple: Olive oil (to sweat the onions and garlic), a can of peeled tomato + diced fresh tomatoes, fresh basil leaves or dry oregano, lean minced beef meat, then season it with salt and better or best with chicken stock. Cooking time only 10 minutes  tongue.gif
Balanced carbs, proteins and barely fat...

I saw there are plenty of recipe for bolognese, most of them are suggesting peeled tomato, is there a reason? coz when i cook, i just pan fry the tomato til it looks a little soft then i put in water with tomato paste.

The difference between tomato paste and peeled tomatoes is that:
~Tomatoes patse gives a more pungen, zestier and stronger tomatoes essence to the bolognese..
~Peeled tomatoes (canned) gives a milder contrast and juicier while stay close to the classic Italian recipe..

Both are fine depends on what you like, but remember the herbs bro: Basil + tomato are superb combo  thumbup.gif  or dried oregano herbs are good enough as well.  biggrin.gif

If you want something else than bolognese and 'creamy' as well, try this sauce:

Plain Yogurt + Extra virgin Olive oil + Garlic (optional if you don't like it, but garlic is key in this sauce, cooked in olive oil first before putting in other ingredients) + chicken stock (for seasoning, the powder ones, not the cube ones) + herbs (a little dried oregano) and slices of small pieces of chicken breast.

Very simple, cooking time ETA 5 minutes.  tongue.gif

Reason for peeled tomatoes : in bolognese cooking, the tomatoes are cooked until it's very soft. By that time, the tomato skin would have curled up and not everyone likes the texture of the bolognese.

I've used both bought-tomato-paste and homecook tomato paste. Of course, the tomato paste bought from the store gives a stronger flavour but the cleaner taste one was the homecook version. It's a lot of work though and a lot of tomatoes.

For recipes, I'm now cooking based on recipes by Jamie Oliver. The trick to his bolognese is chopped bacon which he fries until crispy and fresh basil leaves (daun selasih). The bacon is added to the minced beer and basil leaves after adding in the tomatoes.

Other added ingredients are chopped celery and carrots. Gives it an interesting flavour. smile.gif I add grated parmesan on the day that I eat it.

I usually make a big batch of bolognese and freeze them into smaller portions. Then I just grab what I need for the day.

hehe, now i c the diff. i tot the peeled tomato was in fresh form (not canned). Now i get a better picture. I usually use both fresh and paste together, and tats the reason why i need water to cook those stuff til it become soft.

Yeap, i would alway use oregano and basil and sprinkle those parmesan on top of it. umm ummm

The one with the yogurt wont make the sauce taste sourish ?

Myremi, i tried using carrot before, it sweeten the sauce and the sauce gona have some hint of carrot taste hehe.

Hehe guess we all follow the sunday ritual, pack up food on sunday lol. I usually get those freezer zip bag and pack that big bowl of sauce into 5 small packets and wat i need is to boil the spaghetti while i m taking shower and getting ready and heat up the sauce and pour everything into my lunch box and there goes my lovely meal XD.

And hey, u r using bacon tats not fair XD.

Sarah: i usually have 2 cheat meals on a cheat day, but sometime it could be some tempted i attempted 3 lol.

I'm in dilemma, what should i take to enable me get the total of 90gm of protein/day...

anybody can help?
should i take whey protein?
*
u dont need whey.

Assume u r taking 6 meals a day:

breakfast 3 eggs
mid - half can of tuna
lunch - meat + vege
mid - meat (or another half can of tuna)
dinner - meat
before bed 3 eggs

100g of meat = 30g of protein. so u only need 50g of meat, tats super little.

Breakfast = 2 half boiled eggs, a bowl of cereals with milk and almond/nuts/raisins, an apple
Morning snack = [b]whole grain cookies[cool.gif + green tea
Lunch = Lean pork meat + salad (lettuce, onion, cabbage with yogurt as dressing) + 2 hard boiled eggs + milk + [cool.gif an apple[cool.gif
Evening snack = Oats + [b]energy bar/whole grain cookies[cool.gif + milk
Dinner = Chicken salad + yogurt + apple + green tea
Supper = milk

Something similar with that for everyday, and yogurt I use is original plain yogurt, no flavouring sad.gif My current supplement is Cod liver oil

IKO cookies ? I found those cookies in my office too, u might want to ditch them from ur diet, there a plenty of sugar.

This is what i would suggest, take ur carbs only on breakfast (Medium to high), post workout (Medium to high) and post-post workout (Low gi) and the rest of the day try to consume protein and fats only.

When i was on my cutting phase, i use carbs cycle dieting (there is a link in my journal redirecting u to the tmuscle web site for the diet).

If u r gaining weight, there are two possibility, one u r gaining muscle and losing fat at the same time, second u r gaining fat coz u r overeating. Just remember, calories in calories out. Wat u really need to count is total MACRO nutrient that u need to take in a day.

I got so desperate last time, i even got myself a kitchen scale for all the food i take hehe and it works pretty well thou and thats when i found i over eat sometime XD.
