Bear in mind that different ppl have different reactions to caffeine. Some are more sensitive than others.

Think it's different core strengthening exercises to do that.
Although I'm probably not a good example though. I only do a few but I see improvements. |

Well, depends on the celebrity. I don't think one can call Beyonce thin. LOL!
I just came out from a PT session yesterday. As my back is getting stronger, I'm suppose to work out 8 times a week so 2 of the days I need to work out in the morning. ATM, I'm only allowed to do walking, cross-trainer or recumbent bike for 40-60 min. I also do my core strengthening exercises (which are my back corrective exercises). I actually amazed at how much my upper body has toned up just from doing 5 core strengthening exercise in the last 3 months. |

true, portion control is everything but there's also different portion control for everyone.
although, i have put aside rice, bread and noodles as much as i can because they disturb my weight loss a lot. I still have enough fiber after cleaning up my diet. |

Also, celebrate your success daily, even if it means that you are having cravings, as long as you haven't given into your graving, you are successful and on track.
Added on December 6, 2009, 9:40 pmSpeaking of success, the Fatso Challenge I & II were fun in that sense. Also some forumers probably felt bad when they saw other ppl celebrating their success and they couldn't. Never did see them post on the H&F forums again though. hi zetstat and clarkfann,
I'm still around, zed. Just not as active as I used to be. I got another 15kg left to my goal but this time, by Feb 2010 which is my next doctor's appointment. clarkfann, I got a flatter tummy now. Nearly at a 6 pack now. |

tennis4life : it's a work in progress lol! I haven't gotten it yet lah! But somehow, the muscles are getting more defined. I was just teasing CF coz she really really wanted a 6 pack back then.
ATM, I'm suppose to do the workouts such that I can get up to 4 sets x 10 reps of tabletop stance/horse stance but with one hand up and the opposite knee up at the same time. I can only do 1.5-2 sets atm. Added on December 7, 2009, 2:25 pm http://www.flickr.com/photos/myremi/sets/72157619804428298/ Actually, progress pics are here. QUOTE(kurtkob78 @ Dec 8 2009, 06:10 AM) but too much carb will make your diet harder and slower progress. Better just a little carb with proper protein and healthy fat intake. If only dieting was that easy. You forget that one should also take into account enough variety of vegetables to get the necessary nutrients for healthy life. Out of all the diet plans out there that I've tried out, I'm most impressed with Metabolic Typing. It covers all aspects of food and it's effect on your body and emotions. What you eat will influence your behaviour, like it or not, e.g. angrier, patient, etc. It's a long questionairre to fill in, at the start but after your plan is ready, you just follow it and it's good. What is hard to get across to people is that when the carbs intake is so high, we actually stress our capillaries out so much that in the long run, from long-term exposure, the capillaries age faster, leading to heart problems. |

Of course but you should also remember that vegetables and fruits are naturally carbs as well and they do contribute to the overall carb content in your meals.

traciemoo : That's a good way to look at it. You're not dieting but eating enough that you are not hungry. I started out in Feb 09 to seriously take a look at what I ate and I slowly cut down over the last 10-11 months when my appetite reduced. With desserts, I checked whether I put on weight or not. If I did, then I didn't eat it as much because once it's on, it's hard for me to get it off. One thing that made me feel good is that I don't spend as much money as I used to when I wasn't watching what I eat.
clarkfann : I've lost about 26 kg now and I have another 15 kg to go by 1 Feb 2010. Need to really get off this high blood pressure medication. 6 pack is along the way but not yet. The muscles are getting defined. Here is a montage of my weight loss progress. I was putting it together yesterday. ![]() I'm going to the gym now but am only allowed to do light exercises because of my slipped disc injury. I'm getting a lot stronger although that's also got something to do with changing mindsets, taking action for problems and fixing it. I found a great PT that tells me stuff that actually works and kicks my butt when I need kicking. |

Thanks guys.
kayden : Thanks for the advice. I'm actually with a PT who is trained as a Corrective Back Specialist. So what I'm doing is under her watchful eye, whether I'm procrastinating or when I'm overdoing it or when I don't do things right. |

QUOTE(Syd G @ Dec 9 2009, 08:17 PM) LOL! Thanks! Would you believe that throughout that period, I didn't lift a single weight?Feb - Aug 09 : Fatloss from dieting and light exercises from cooking and on cross trainer. Aug - Dec 09 : I reinjured an old slipped disc injury (L5/S1). For Sep and Oct 09 pics, it was all through the corrective back exercises I was doing as part of my pain management since I completely stop the pain medication after the first 2 weeks. Now, I try to go to the gym every evening for inversion, light cardio (40-50 min treadmill, bike or crosstrainer) and core strength exercises. Bodytype? Now I'm not sure anymore since I'm now smaller under all that fat. My waist is now smaller than my shoulder width. Although I'm now with a PT and I took her Holistic Fitness package which included metabolic typing. I also ate according to my blood type. So now, I'm eating 40% Protein, 50% carbo and 10% fat. I eat a lot of omega 3s as well to help reduce the inflammation from the slipped disc - I'm literally pill popping it! LOL! |

20 mins jogging twice a day will not help you if you don't watch your food intake at the same time.

QUOTE(kayden @ Dec 12 2009, 05:58 AM) Of course u can. But it's not that good for your knee caps. As u age u will feel the pain earlier than the rest. Jogging and running is heavy on the knees if the person doesn't know how to run properly and take the proper nutrients for it. That's why the knee caps are hurting.Jogging and running is actually bad for knees u know? Rule of thumb: Calorie in < Calorie out U dont need to kill yourself with exercises, u just need to watch your food intake and do some regular exercises like jogging, swimming, cycling, skipping u will find that you are on your way to fitness. But best if u could go to the gym and train some weight. Feels good to be strong Like proper jogging shoes, balancing better when running, insoles to straighten the balance, glucosamine + choidroitin, fish oil (loads of it) tablets, etc. Hmm..it's not like every jogger out there suffers from excruitiating knee pains. Some go through life with no problems. Others do. |

synchun : sadly, even I don't know much. I only know what my PT told me when we were looking at how people move on the treadmills and crosstrainers and what she has been telling me to correct my balance and stance.
If joggers favor one side more than the other, then he has imbalance. The other thing is the poor running posture because of feet problems. Those can only be fixed with orthotics and those aren't cheap. You can also check your shoes. If one side of the shoe is wearing out more than the other, then it's incorrect posture. Again fixed by orthotics and a new pair of shoe. |

QUOTE(synchun @ Dec 13 2009, 03:13 PM) myremi, thanks for your info. You may have to get someone to observe your gait i.e. your walking/running movements. The gait also means the way you move your hips.i dont think i jog by favoring one side more than the other. but still, i have no idea whether i have poor running posture or not. I once saw a female jogger run while still swinging her hips. It was amazing that she didn't fall down or she didn't feel any pain. The thing was she didn't realized it. Another part of the gait is the way you place your feet down. It's heel first and then the toe and no dragging of the feet. Probably read up on jogging gait and see what pops up. |

10,000 steps is good but if you don't watch what you eat, you're going to end up in trouble too.
The other thing is strength/resistance training. That helps too. Two of my colleagues touched my stomach today and say that it's hard. Yes, there's still a layer of fat but it's not that much and there is something hard behind it. I saw a picture of this big sized ladydoing belly dancing and she had a 6 pack stomach!! And this lady lived in Kuching, Sarawak. She didn't look fat but fit. Way fit. |

Syd G : realised one thing about the core strength exercises I'm doing. It's firming up the muscles more that now so hard. Not much fat left to reduce and doubt if can get any slimmer.
Wah! Tough lah... LOL! |
